This is a spicy meat hot sauce perfect on hot dogs or hamburgers. Here in upstate New York you grow up putting meat hot sauce on your burgers, red and white hots. Adjust the amount of heat to your taste; the recipe as written is pretty spicy. I put the hot sauce in small freezer-safe containers and freeze for later use.

Kathy's Meat Hot Sauce

beef

tomato juice

yellow mustard

black pepper

hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)

chili powder

red pepper flakes

salt

Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until meat is crumbly and no longer pink, about 10 minutes; drain excess grease and transfer ground beef to a large saucepan. Mix tomato juice, yellow mustard, black pepper, hot pepper sauce, chili powder, red pepper flakes, and salt into the beef.


Bring the sauce to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 1 hour, stirring frequently.


Without a doubt the best Hot meat sauce I have ever tasted ! I made it exactly as written. It has Just the right amount of spice and even a little kick. We cannot eat hot dogs without it and this is a staple at every cook out.  I also froze it in several small containers and use when needed.  Everyone loves this recipe! 5 stars all the way

This is my hot sauce recipe and if you make it and it is too spicy for you add a cinnamon stick to it and let it sit overnight in the fridge and the cinnamon stick will help mellow the spice. As I said in my description play with the amount of heat but this will become a staple for every BBQ you will have.

"THE BOMB"  Thankyou thankyou.  This recipe is marvelous as written.  I held back on the black pepper and red pepper some.  I think it would of been better if I would of just added them.  This stuff is pretty hot.  Whoever doesnt like hot stuff isn't going to like this anyway, so go for it.  This reminds me of Betty's world Famous Hotdogs sauce.

On vacation w 13 friends from upstate NY and needed a quick easy meat sauce for our garbage plates (google it). I added diced onions, nutmeg and paprika. Simmered in a crock pot for three hours to perfection. They all loved it.

Love this hot sauce!!! Only addition I made was to sprinkle in some mixed cinnamon and sugar. We make it for every cookout and everyone loves it and asks for the recipe!

This is a great base recipe for a basic meat hot sauce! I ended up adding some additional ingredients - Garlic powder, ground clove and a touch of cinnamon. It was delicious and went great on our Garbage Plates.

Second time making this and it comes out soo good! The perfect amount of heat (my husband likes his food extra spicy)

I used this as a basis for a 3 meat chili! I used bacon, venison, and beef. I cut the hickory smoked bacon into small pieces and let them render in the bottom of a stock pot. Then added one small white onion chopped finely and 2 large cloves of garlic minced, and cooked until caramelized. Then added the beef and venison and continued to follow the recipe as directed. We did not have any red pepper so we missed out on the heat that would have added. But it was still delicious!

This is a great at home meat hot sauce!  I made a half batch to be sure it was the one and it is!  In  place of the tomato juice, I used V8 Bloody Mary Mix and that added a little bit of sweetness to the sauce.  I also used a teaspoon of cinnamon in the mix as a local establishment puts that into their sauce.  Everybody here loved it.  It will be my go to hot sauce for garbage plates, picnics, and casual dining!
