Step 1
Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and reserve.

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Stir and cook until the vegetables are beginning to soften, about 4 minutes.
Step 3

Stir in the cooked pasta.
Step 7
Remove the bay leaves, ladle into bowls, and serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
