Step 1

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the middle and pour in the warm milk, egg, and melted butter.

Step 2

Whisk the liquid ingredients first, then gently mix in the dry ingredients until you no longer see streaks of flour.

Step 3

Optional: Let the batter rest for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Lightly coat a non-stick griddle or frying pan with oil or butter. Heat over medium heat.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to medium-low. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until bubbles starts to form. Flip it over and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve hot with butter and maple syrup. Enjoy!
