Reply Angie says December 29, 2017 at 12:53 pm What a great idea! I’m so going to try this for my little girl when she gets older! Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 12:12 am I’ve been making these since my almost 4 year old was only about 6 months old — they are great dresses for little girls! Thanks for the comment. Reply valmg @ Mom Knows It All says December 29, 2017 at 1:31 pm That’s a really neat idea. I like that this could be used with new tshirts or even to repurpose some old favorites. Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 12:12 am Yes, I’ve been wanting to try to use some old tshirts but I haven’t yet. If you do, I’d love to see pics! Reply Alli Smith says December 29, 2017 at 1:42 pm I would have never known these peasant style dresses started out as men’s t-shirts! This is just way too cute and clever. What a great idea! Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 12:11 am Thanks, Alli! It’s quite the switcheroo and it makes it so affordable! Reply Amber Myers says December 29, 2017 at 4:48 pm Oh my gosh, how cute! I love these. I’ve always been a fan of peasant dresses on kids. Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 12:11 am Thanks, Amber! Me too! These are so great for playing, whether my girls are putting on their best princess tea party or digging in the dirt. Reply candy says December 29, 2017 at 5:06 pm Love how these bright and colorful dresses turned out. I bet you sell a bunch of them. Pretty awesome to make a girls dress and one for her favorite doll baby as well. Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 12:10 am Thanks for the comment, Candy. My daughter loves having matching clothes with her doll! Reply Gisele says December 29, 2017 at 6:09 pm This is an awesome idea. Most tee shirts are fairly cheap and this is a great way to make something cute and fashionable for your child. Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 12:10 am Thanks for the comment, Gisele! Yes, these are super affordable and so easy to customize. I can get shirts for around $2 on sale, woohoo! Reply Angelic Sinova says December 29, 2017 at 7:42 pm How cute is this? When I saw the little one in the pumpkin dress I was outdone. You made it appear really easy to make for yourself of your little ones. DIY products is something that I need to get back into. Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 9:35 am What a high compliment! Thanks, Serena! Reply Jenn @ EngineerMommy says December 30, 2017 at 9:38 am That is an amazing transformation. I have seen those plain men’s shirts at Dollar Tree all the time. This would be a fabulous idea to repurpose them! That’s a job well done!! Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 9:55 am Thanks, Jenn! I haven’t had much luck with finding the colors I want at our local Dollar Tree but if you can catch a sale, you can get shirts for $2 often at the craft stores, too. But now I’m going to have to check the dollar store obsessively, haha! Reply Ricci says December 30, 2017 at 7:26 pm This is such a cute idea! I need to tell my sister about this, she would totally do it and I know my niece would love to paint her own dress…LOL! Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 8:46 pm It is my daughter’s favorite birthday tradition! Thanks for the comment, Ricci. Reply Marysa says December 30, 2017 at 7:45 pm I have never tried shirring, and I did’t realize you did it with an elastic thread. Thought it was more of a process of gathering fabric. I don’t know if I’m brave enough to try this project, but your came out great! Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 8:47 pm I think there is a fancier type of shirring that is more gathering… maybe that’s smocking? I don’t know if shirring is officially the right term, but that’s what the blogger I learned it from called it so that’s what I’ve always called it, too And it really is easy, you should give it a try! Reply Sara Welch says December 30, 2017 at 8:38 pm That is a super cute idea! I love coming up with or finding stuff like this for my kids. Love it! Reply Tatanisha Worthey says December 30, 2017 at 8:42 pm This is when I wish I had at least one girl! ha! Such an adorable idea and so cute! Reply Lorene says December 30, 2017 at 8:47 pm That’s when having friends with little girls comes in handy Thanks for the comment!
