Spray a large stock pot or Dutch oven with nonstick cooking spray

Add in the sausage or bacon and fry until drippings are released

Add in the onion and sauté until lighting browned

Pack the cabbage into the pot.*

Pour the water in and lower the heat to medium.

Cover the pot with the lid and allow the cabbage to smother for 20 minutes.

Now, add in the onion and garlic powders, Cajun seasoning, and butter.

Stir.

Cover the pot again and continue to cook on medium low until the cabbage is as tender as desired.
