This recipe has been used in our family for years. It's better than any store-bought sauce and so quick and easy to make! Have extra sauce on hand because people will want to use it as a dipping sauce too.

The Best Homemade Honey Garlic Sauce

canola oil

garlic,

ketchup

honey

soy sauce

Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add garlic; cook and stir until translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in ketchup, honey, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until flavors combine, about 5 minutes.


Made this today. Amazing. highly recommend. Not sure if people are messing up the recipe but I couldn't taste the ketchup at all. Used it on pork

As BBQ sauce it was fine. But it was NOTHING like honey garlic sauce. The tomatoes completely changed it.

I like my honey garlic sauce on the sweeter side. This recipe has mostly ketchup and it seems to take over the flavour. I had to add some extra honey and even a bit of brown sugar to help sweeten it. I would recommend using only 1/3-1/2 cup of ketchup to keep the tangy flavour down.

Cooked salmon in this sauce. It gave the salmon an Asian flare! Tasted outstanding!
