Export 12 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Wash the lentils, then transfer them to a large saucepan and add 5 cups of water. Cook the lentils covered are fully tender (usually around 15-20 minutes).
Step 2
Don't drain the lentils. The lentils should stand in water still. If not, add enough water to fully cover the lentils.
Step 3
Add all the rest of the ingredients: cous cous, tomato paste, pepper paste, salt, peppercorn, chilli flakes, onion, parsley, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika and coriander.
Step 4
Mix with a wooden spoon until everything is combined and set aside for around 10 minutes so the cous cous can absorb the excess water.
Step 5
Taste the mixture and add a little more salt, pepper to taste.
Step 6
Take a bit of mixture, form it into a long cylinder and place it on a platter. Repeat with the rest of the mixture.
Step 7
Serve with slices of lemon on the side and enjoy!
