Hibiscus Tea

Ginger ((optional))

Lime juice

In the inner liner of your Instant Pot, add all ingredients except lime juice and ice.

Cook at high pressure for 4 mins, allow 10 mins NPR&nbsp;and then release all pressure.

The flowers will have settled to the bottom. Decant the liquid into a glass pitcher and when cool, add lime juice if you want a little more acidity.

This is a semi-concentrate, so serve over ice.

Agua de Jamaica is a sweet and tart refreshing drink made from hibiscus flowers that&#x27;s very popular in Mexico. This agua fresca is ready in only 15 minutes!

Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscus Tea)

In a small pot, add 4 cups of water and the dried hibiscus flowers. Bring to a boil over high heat.

Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat, uncover and let it cool down for 5 more minutes.

Pour the tea through a strainer or colander into a large pitcher that holds at least 8-10 cups. Discard the used used hibiscus flowers.

Add the granulated sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Add the remaining 4 cups water and stir to combine.

At this point, taste the tea and add more sugar and/or dilute it with more water until it&#x27;s to your liking. Some people like it super sweet, some like it super strong, it&#x27;s up to you!

Serve in a glass filled with ice and enjoy!

Boil the water either on the stovetop or in a kettle.

Once boiled, place the hibiscus petals in a teapot or pitcher and cover with the water. Allow it to steep for 4-5 minutes, then strain, sweeten, and enjoy.It’s best to use a strainer to place the petals, so removing them after the steeping process is easier.

Warm Hibiscus Tea

Add the hibiscus petals to a pitcher filled with the water (room temperature or cool is fine) and stir.

Place it in the fridge to steep overnight or for up to 2 days. It can take a minimum of 4 hours but steep to your desired color and flavor. Then strain to remove the petals and serve.If you want to sweeten the cold brew, it&#39;s best to use a liquid sweetener like simple syrup or maple as they are easier to dilute in the cold tea.

Cold Brew Hibiscus Tea

You can store any leftover hibiscus tea in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. This makes it a great make-ahead drink, too. It can be enjoyed straight from the fridge or reheated first.You could also pour leftovers in an ice cube tray or even turn them into hibiscus tea popsicles.

How To Make Hibiscus Tea

This hot pink, sweet-tart healthy hibiscus margarita recipe uses traditional ingredients, combined with hibiscus flower syrup or tea creating a tasty drink.

Healthy Hibiscus Margarita

hibiscus syrup (or concentrated hibiscus tea)

lime juice (freshly squeezed)

100% agave tequila (gold or silver)

orange liqueur (I used Grand Marnier)

If desired, first rim glass with salt or sugar. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, turning glass upside down into a plate of margarita salt or other coarse salt.

Combine all ingredients and add to glass,

Fill glass with crushed ice, then add hibiscus syrup, lime juice, tequila and grand marnier, stir to combine. If desired, garnish with a wedge of lime, hibiscus flower (rehydrated or from a syrup) and or other fresh seasonal berries.

Agua De Jamaica

(45 grams) dried hibiscus flowers

(1.89L) water (divided)

(100 grams) sugar (or honey, and to taste)

Put the water and hibiscus flowers in a pot and bring to a boil.

Reduce to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes.

Switch off the heat and let it stand for an hour.

Strain the concentrate and use to make the iced tea, or store it for later use.

To Make the Concentrate:

Transfer the concentrate into a pitcher.

Stir in sugar, to taste.

Add remaining water and mix until the sugar has dissolved.

Chill and serve over ice.

To Make The Iced Tea:

Add the water and hibiscus into your Instant Pot insert.

Close the Instant Pot and turn the valve to the sealing position. Set to high pressure and select pressure cook / manual pressure for 4 minutes.

When done, allow for a Natural Pressure release of 8 minutes, before manually releasing the rest of the pressure.

Strain the flowers out of the drink, add sweetener to taste, and serve or store for future use.

To a large pot, add the water, flor de Jamaica, and any add-ins of your choosing. Bring everything to a low boil, then turn the heat down to simmer for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, shut the heat off, stir in the sugar, then allow the mixture to cool. The concentrate is ready when the flowers sink to the bottom.

Once steeped, pour the concentrate through a mesh strainer into a large mason jar or pitcher. Add another 3-4 cups of water into the jar (or to taste) and stir well.

Serve your agua de Jamaica in a glass full of ice. Squeeze a wedge of lime or an orange over top and enjoy immediately. Happy drinking!
