Place the salmon fillets into a shallow dish. Whisk soy sauce, oil, salt, and pepper to a small mixing bowl.

Pour the dressing over the salmon fillets and gently rub all over the fish. Allow it to marinate in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile preheat the air fryer to 425°F.

Place the fillets into the air fryer basket, skin side down, and cook at 400°F for 8 minutes.

Lightly brush with honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chili flakes. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Serve with your favorite side, like cooked rice and enjoy!

Follow this keto teriyaki sauce recipe instructions to prepare the sauce but do not add the xanthan gum thickener. Let the sauce cool to room temperature.

For the teriyaki sauce:

Marinate

In a small baking tray or casserole dish that’s just big enough to fill in all the salmon pieces, pour over ⅓ cup of the teriyaki sauce and marinate the fish skin side up for 15-20 minutes.

Teriyaki salmon marinade:

Prep

Line the air fryer basket with a thin layer of  parchment paper or an air fryer liner. Slightly drip off the marinade and place the fish, side skin down, in the basket and with some gap between the fillets. Discard the marinade.

Air Fry

Air fry at 400F for 7 to 9 minutes. The exact time will depend on the thickness of the fish and your appliance. Mine was done at 7 minutes for medium-rare and 8 minute for medium.

To thicken the teriyaki sauce, take ¼ cup of the sauce and add it to a small sauce pot. Bring it to a low simmer. Gradually and slowly sprinkle in 1/8 tsp xanthan gum while whisking at the same time to prevent clumps.

Check

The fish will be nearly opaque when cut into, at 120F (49C) at the thickest part. You can peek into the thickest part with a sharp knife or fork. It should flake easily, but still has a little translucency in the center.

Serve

Transfer the fishes to a plater. Glaze the salmon with teriyaki sauce. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, if using, and scallions. Remove the skin before serving. I recommend serving them warm.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.

Rub each fillet with olive oil and season with garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Place the salmon in the air fryer and air fry for 7-9 minutes, depending on this thickness of the salmon. Please note, time may vary between air fryers.

Air Fryer Salmon Recipe with Steak

Salmon Steaks (with 1 inch thickness

To start with, pat dry the salmon steaks (or fillets) on both the side using paper towel. Sprinkle little salt and freshly ground pepper on both the sides and set it aside for 5 minutes.

Preheat the air fryer at 400 degrees (default is 3 minutes for the model I own).

Combine olive oil, soy sauce (or tamari), dijon mustard, paprika, garlic powder, sugar, season with salt and pepper in a small bowl.

Brush the salmon fish with prepared marinade on both the sides. I prefer to let the salmon marinate for 10 minutes in the refrigerator, though this is optional. You can air fry it directly.

Spray the base of the basket with little oil, and place the salmon steaks in the air fryer.

Cook for 10-12 minutes or until fully cooked and flaky (cooking time vary as per the size and thickness of the steaks). For salmon fillets, cook for 7- 9 minutes depending upon its thickness or until fully cooked and flaky.

Check for the desired doneness of the salmon using fork and pop the basket back into the air fryer for further 1-2 minutes, if needed.

Garnish with chopped parsley, and lemon wedges, serve hot and enjoy!

Gochujang Glazed Salmon Bowls

Avocado

cucumber (sliced thin)

tsp rice wine vinegar

In a small bowl, mix together the gochujang, honey, soy sauce, and sesame oil.

Brush this mixture evenly over each salmon filet. Reserve half of the glaze for later.

If your air fryer requires preheating, preheat it to 400°. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Add the salmon to the basket 2 inches apart and air fry for 10 minutes. Do not flip halfway since the skin tends to stick to the bottom.

Every couple of minutes, re-brush the glaze on the salmon.

While the salmon cooks, slice your cucumber very thin. Add the chili crisp oil and rice wine vinegar and allow to marinate in the fridge for the remaining cook time of the salmon.

Cook the rice according to package instructions. Slice your avocado.

In a medium bowl, add half of the rice, half the avocado, and the cooked salmon. Sprinkle on sesame seeds, and serve with seaweed or cucumber if desired. Enjoy!
