Season the ribs with bbq spice rub, covering both sides of the ribs.

Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit for a few minutes, then place the ribs in the air fryer basket, meat side down and cook for 20 minutes.

Once the 20 minutes is up, grab a pair of tongs and flip the ribs over, and cook for an additional 10 minutes on 380 degrees.

Once the timer is up, open the basket and cover with the bbq sauce. Return to Air fryer and cook for 5 minutes on 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remove and allow the ribs to rest for a few minutes. Feel free to cover with additional bbq sauce if you like saucy ribs.

Place ribs in a bowl and add the paprika and salt, mixing to coat well.

Then add barbecue sauce and allow ribs to marinade for 30 mins or so. However, if you don't have the extra time you can move straight to cooking.

Preheat the air fryer to 350 F / 180 C.

Remove the ribs from marinade, discarding the excess marinade.

Place ribs inside the air fryer basket, making sure to allow space in between each rib.

Cook for 10-12 min for thin separated ribs , or 20-25 mins for thicker ribs. Turn ribs once half way through the cook time.

Let the Pork Ribs set out at room temperature for 30 minutes

Remove the membrane by carefully slipping a butter knife between the bone and silver skin to loosen

Using a paper towel for better leverage grab the loosened membrane and peel free from the bones

Season both sides of the ribs with the BBQ rub

Preheat to 390°F on the Roast mode

Add Ribs to the Air Crisp Basket, meat side up.

Lower the temperature to 325°F

Roast at 325°F for 10 minutes.

Flip the Ribs over, meat side down.

Add 1 cup of very hot water to the base pan

Roast on 325°F for another 10 minutes.

2.5 lbs St. Louis style ribs

Cut the rack of ribs into pieces small enough to fit on the air fryer rack. Remove the thin layer of silver skin off the bottom of the ribs using a flat butter knife. Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, smoked paprika and cayenne together in a small bowl.

Preheat an air fryer to 350F and rub the seasoning over the ribs on all sides. Place ribs in the air fryer tray.

Air fry at 350F for 15 minutes. Flip ribs and air fry for another 15 minutes

Remove from the air fryer and allow the ribs to cool slightly. Baste with your barbecue of choice and serve

I was skeptical as to how could these possibly be tender after a half hour in an air fryer. These were delicious! It truly works. I did have to sub Aleppo pepper for the smoked paprika - but I used some smoked salt instead of plain to compensate. I put the rub on the rack which I had cut into 3 portions (in order to fit into the air fryer basket.) I put the pieces uncovered in the fridge for about 6 hours to 'marinate'. We followed the temperature and cooking time exactly and they got to around 195 degrees; slapped some Ray's BBQ sauce on them and tented the platter for about 15 minutes. Then did the next batch. Yum. Yum. Yum. Thanks for this recipe!

My husband loved these!  Used Bone Sucking Rub (just for convenience) but cooked the exact amount of time you said.  He said they were perfect.  Had to do the rack in 2 batches, but wrapped the first batch in foils to keep warm.   How would you recommend to reheat them?

I have to admit, I was a doubter before I tried this.  My husband swears by our air fryer for everything, so we gave this a try.  Ribs were amazing!  I'm pretty sure we will never cook them any other way again.

This cooking method produced some nicely flavored ribs that were falling off the bone tender.
