Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

shrimp

thick-cut bacon,

tbsp. butter, melted

maple syrup

tbsp. chili powder

Very tasty! May add a lil smoked paprika next time, definitely a hit! Didn't use frozen shrimp.

I used thawed shrimp and wrapped raw bacon and then grilled them...came out perfect. thank you!!

This dish came out exceptionally well. So easy to make. We did it with turkey bacon but it came out just as well. Kids and Grownups wanted more and more

i made these as an appetizer for Christmas dinner. The maple butter spread made them super tasty, however, next time I plan to purchase jumbo shrimp and NOT precook the bacon!

Precook the bacon at 400 for 20 minutes on an oven safe cooling rack. Toss the raw shrimp in the maple butter chili powder mix. Carefully wrap the thawed shrimp with the hot (still pliable) bacon and secure with a toothpick. This will ensure perfectly crispy bacon and perfectly cooked shrimp. After allowing to cool for 5 minutes, the bacon will crisp up completely around the shrimp.

These were delicious. I placed the bacon in the prepared pan and baked it for 14 minutes on 425 and let it cool before preparing the shrimp. It probably should have gone a few minutes longer. I also went with a little less than a Tbs of chili powder. I used equal parts of ancho and chipotle powders. There was a nice amount of heat but not too much even for the kids. I broiled them on Lo for 3 minutes. This would make a great party appetizer.

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

soy sauce

honey

lemon juice

garlic

(500 grams) jumbo-sized shrimp, (peeled and deveined, tails intact)

Adjust oven rack on the top third half of the oven (just above half way). Preheat oven to broil (or grill) settings on medium-high heat (400°F | 200°C.)

Combine bbq sauce, soy sauce, honey, juice, garlic, oil and ginger in a shallow bowl. Pour out half of the sauce into a separate small bowl and store it in the refrigerator for later.

Add the shrimp to the sauce in the shallow bowl, season with salt and pepper and let marinate for 10 minutes if time allows.

Slice bacon slices in half lengthwise. Wrap one slice of bacon around one shrimp; repeat wih remaining bacon and shrimp until all done.

Arrange the bacon wrapped shrimp in a single layer on a lined baking tray/sheet. Broil (or grill) for 8 minutes until bacon is crispy and sizzling. Flip and broil for another 2 minutes until shrimp/prawns are cooked through.

Serve the shrimp/prawns with the remaining sauce.

Serve with guacamole!

Easy Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Appetizer Recipe

Line a baking sheet with foil. Preheat oven to 400F.

Wrap each piece of shrimp with 1/3 slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on the baking sheet.

Mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and chipotle powder.

Brush each shrimp liberally with the butter mixture, using about 2/3 of it. Save the leftover butter mixture and set aside.

Bake for 15 minutes. Take the shrimp out of the oven and switch to broil.

Brush each shrimp one more time with the remaining butter mixture (stir before brushing).

Broil for 1-2 minutes or until bubbly.

Serve and enjoy!

Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

Worcestershire sauce

In a medium bowl, combine garlic salt, chili powder, soy sauce, Worcestershire  sauce and bbq sauce. Stir well to combine.

Add shrimp and using a spoon, stir sauce around shrimp, until it has fully coated shrimp. 

Wrap each shrimp with 1/2 slice of bacon and then skewer with a toothpick or metal skewer.

Once each piece of shrimp is skewered, pour sauce over then one last time to ensure all pieces are covered with sauce. 

Preheat airfryer to 370F degrees for 4 minutes.

Add wrapped shrimp to the air fryer basket. Optional: pour the remaining sauce over the shrimp.

Select shrimp on air fryer (if you have that option.) Adjust temperature to 360f degrees and cook for 8 minutes.

BBQ Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

½ shrimp (raw, thawed, deveined, tail-on)

paprika

Prepare the grill for cooking over medium direct heat.

Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium low heat until it is about halfway cooked, but still soft enough to wrap around shrimp. About 3 minutes.

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, dried mustard, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper.

Place the shrimp in a large bowl and sprinkle the dry rub over the shrimp. Toss until thoroughly combined.

Carefully wrap each shrimp with bacon and thread onto a skewer, piercing through the bacon. Piercing once through the tail and once through the other side will keep them secure through cooking.

Brush the grill with oil and grill the shrimp five inches from the coals for five minutes. Turn over and cook for an additional two minutes on the other side.

Serve with dry rub or brush with BBQ sauce.
