Baked Brie Recipe with Jam and Nuts

tbsp fig jam

figs (sliced)

walnut hearts (roughly chopped)

13- oz round French brie

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Place the fig jam in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave for 30 seconds to soften.

In a small bowl, combine the sliced dried figs with the nuts. Add half of the fig jam and mix well to coat the nut mixture.

Place the round of brie in a small cast iron skillet or oven-safe dish. Using a small knife, coat the brie with the remainder of the jam or honey.

Top the brie with the fig and nut mixture.

Place the dish or skillet on top of a baking sheet (this will make it easier to handle and will also catch any melted cheese). Bake on the middle rack of your heated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until the brie softens.

Remove from the oven and let the brie sit for 3 to 5 minutes or so. Serve warm with your favorite crackers!

crostini, crackers, sliced baguette

Place wheel of brie on a parchment lined baking sheet, leaving it in the wooden container (if it came in one).

Slice a crosshatch pattern across the top of the brie. 

Spread fig jam across the top of the wheel of brie.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until gooey and melty inside. Use a spoon to gently press on the top of the rind to feel if it is melted inside.

Serve with sliced crusty French baguette, crackers, or crostini.

Baked Brie with Jam

maple syrup

pecans

butter

rosemary

salt

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.

Bake brie for 10-15 minutes or until soft.

While brie is baking, place cranberries, maple syrup, pecans, butter, rosemary, salt and pepper in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for 6-8 minutes or until syrupy. Remove from heat and stir in lime juice. 

Carefully transfer brie to serving dish. Pour cranberry mixture over brie and garnish with chopped additional pecans, if desired. Serve immediately with crackers or baguette slices.

BAKED BRIE

There are layers of flaky pastry dough, brie cheese, brown sugar, and cinnamon pecans in this Baked Brie appetizer.&nbsp;

(8-14 ounce) wheel Brie

brown sugar

egg (beaten)

Crackers and sliced apples

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Defrost puff pastry for approximately 15 to 20 minutes by laying it out at room temperature. Once it has defrosted, unfold it.

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Saute the pecans in the butter until golden brown, approximately 5 minutes. Add the cinnamon and stir until pecans are coated well. 

Place the pecan mixture on top of the Brie and sprinkle the brown sugar over the mixture. Lay the puff pastry out on a flat surface. Place the brie in the center of the pastry. Gather up the edges of the puff pastry, pressing around the brie and gather at the top. Fold and pinch the edges together so it doesn’t come open. Brush the beaten egg over top and side of Brie. 

Place Brie on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes until pastry is golden brown.

Serve with crackers and fruit like sliced apples and strawberries.

I made this as an appetizer for Thanksgiving along with a savory brie. Oh the raves I got! My brother-in-law sat next to it and didn't move until it was gone. This recipe is so easy and so delicious.  I am waiting for puff pastry to thaw right now so I can make one for a snack.  Yum!
