Baked Greek meatballs are juicy, tender, flavorful, and delicious. They are quick and easy to make in 30 minutes, and freezer-friendly. 

Greek Meatballs

beef

breadcrumbs

In a large mixing bowl, combine beef with breadcrumbs, dill, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, cumin, oregano, pepper, feta cheese, and egg. Mix well to form into a uniform consistency. Set aside for 15 minutes or refrigerate overnight.

Take 2 spoonfuls of the beef mixture at a time and roll into meatballs. Transfer meatballs onto a parchment-lined half sheet baking pan and lightly coat with some cooking oil spray to keep them from sticking, if needed.

Bake for 15 minutes until fully cooked. The internal temperature should reach 160F as read on a meat thermometer. 

Serve with a drizzle of  tzitaziki sauce, extra dill sprinkled on top, and a side of pita bread.

Greek Chicken Meatballs

ground chicken ((not 100% chicken breast) use a mix of ground chicken)

oz onion ((grated and squeezed dry))

mint

coriander

garlic

panko bread crumb

red pepper chili flakes

olive oil ((for brushing the meatballs))

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

Grate the yellow onion into a bowl, then squeeze out the excess liquid using your hands or a clean paper towel.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, squeezed onion, garlic, fresh dill, fresh mint, cumin, coriander, red pepper flakes, oregano, egg, panko breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper.  Mix everything together gently using clean hands or a spoon until just combined—don’t overmix.

Form golf ball-sized meatballs (about 18) and place them evenly on the prepared sheet pan. Lightly brush with olive oil.

Bake for 18–20 minutes, turning halfway, until meatballs are cooked through and golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature with Greek salad and yogurt.

These meatballs are delicious and easy to make—my go-to recipe for a last-minute dinner. They always taste great with a salad or rice.
