Crispy Baked Jalapeño Poppers

Jalapeños

Cream Cheese

Cheddar Cheese, finely grated

Green/Spring Onion, finely diced

tbsp Dry Breadcrumbs (can use Panko!)

Parmesan,

tsp Smoked Paprika

Salt & Black Pepper,

Oil,

Sour Cream, to serve

In a medium sized bowl, combine 4 tbsp breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp parmesan, 1 tsp smoked paprika and a pinch of salt &amp; pepper (to taste). Place to one side.

Next, fry 5oz/150g diced bacon in a pan over medium heat (use oil as needed) until nice and crispy. When cool enough to handle, combine in a separate bowl with 9oz/250g cream cheese, diced green/spring onion and 1cup/100g grated cheddar cheese. Place to one side.

Grab your jalapeños and slice them vertically, forming two boat-like shapes. Deseed with a teaspoon and begin filling with your cream cheese mixture. You want them filled to just above level height, around 1 tbsp per &#x27;boat&#x27; should be fine, depending on jalapeño size. Use gloves if concerned about spreading spice.

Flip each boat upside down in to your breadcrumb mixture and gently press so the crumbs attach, forming the crispy layer.

Evenly space out on a baking tray and bake for around 8-10 mins at 200C/390F just to heat through the centre, just until they start to bubble. Then switch to the grill and broil for around 5 mins or until golden and crispy on top (see notes). Allow to cool for a few minutes and tuck in!

CRISPY BAKED JALAPENO POPPERS | Makes 20

🍴INGREDIENTS🍴

10 Jalapeños
8oz / 250g Cream Cheese
5.2oz / 150g Streaky Bacon, finely diced
1 cup / 100g Cheddar Cheese, finely grated
1 Green Onion finely diced
4 tbsp Breadcrumbs

Tortilla chip crusted baked jalapeno poppers recipe that's easy, amazing and better than the fried version! Perfect appetizer for entertaining.

Tortilla Chip-Crusted Baked Jalapeño Poppers

Jalapeños,

tortilla

oz light cream cheese

Mexican cheese

almond milk (regular milk also works)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

In the bowl of a food processor or blender, add the tortilla chips and process until they resemble fine crumbs (like bread crumbs). Transfer to a shallow bowl and set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together cream cheese, shredded cheese and milk until combined. Set aside.

In another separate bowl, beat together egg and egg white. Set aside.

Stuff each jalapeno half with cream cheese mixture. Do not overfill.

Dip each stuffed pepper half in the egg mixture completely, then roll the pepper in the chip mixture and place pepper on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with each pepper.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Serve while the poppers are hot!

These cream cheese jalapeño poppers are super creamy, a little crunchy, a little spicy, and a lot delicious. They seriously might be the ultimate party snack! Plus, they are so, so easy to make. All you need are a few basic ingredients and about 10 minutes of prep work to get these delicious jalapeno poppers on the table!

Cream Cheese Jalapeño Poppers Recipe

jalapeno peppers

softened cream cheese

cheddar cheese (reserve 2 tbsp)

garlic powder

onion powder

Salt and pepper,

2-3 tbsp crushed tortilla chips

Preheat oven to 400°F. line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cut the jalapenos in half and remove the seeds. Make sure you are wearing gloves, as they are very hot and spicy. 

In a bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and bacon.

Fill the jalapenos with the prepared cream cheese mixture. You can use a spoon to fill them or a piping bag for a neat filling.

Sprinkle the jalapenos with reserved cheddar cheese, bacon, and crushed tortilla chips.
