This homemade Bisquick mix is made with simple ingredients and takes just minutes to make!

Homemade Bisquick Substitute

all purpose flour (you can use up to half whole wheat flour)

baking powder

Tbsp. sugar

salt

butter ((see notes))

Mix dry ingredients together then cut in butter until crumbly.  (I like to use a pastry blender to do this.)

Store in refrigerator and use cup for cup as you would Bisquick. (see Notes below)

These savory blue cheese biscuits made with Bisquick are so simple to make using a  biscuit mix, butter, blue cheese crumbles, and buttermilk.

Blue Cheese Crumbles

Cut cubed cold butter into the Bisquick to make a crumbly mixture.

Add blue cheese and buttermilk to combine. The dough will be very soft and sticky.

Drop large scoops of the biscuit dough on a parchment sheet lined baking sheet or cookie sheet.

Bake for 12-15 minutes at 400 degrees.

When blue cheese biscuits are golden brown, remove from oven. Spread with melted butter for extra buttery flavor.

A great, natural, substitute​ for Bisquick​.

(8 oz) mushrooms, sliced

(10-3/4 oz) cream of mushroom soup

mozzarella cheese, shredded

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a 10″ round baking dish.

Step 2

For filling, brown ground beef, mushrooms and onions; drain. Add garlic powder and soup. Set aside.

Step 3

For crust, bring margarine or butter and water to a boil. Add baking mix. Beat with spoon until smooth and forms a ball. Remove from heat. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each addition.

Step 4

Spread on bottom and up sides of baking dish. Fill with beef mixture. Bake 20 – 25 minutes or until lightly browned and puffy.

Step 5

Sprinkle with cheese. Bake an additional 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Bisquick coffee cake makes feeding guests a snap! This easy coffee cake gets its tang from sour cream and sweetness from a flavorful and buttery streusel.

Bisquick Coffee Cake

Bisquick mix

⅔ cup packed light brown sugar

pumpkin pie spice

unsalted butter (cold)

pecans (optional)

brown sugar

½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

sour cream

vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray a 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray. Set aside.

Prep the streusel: In a medium bowl, stir combine ⅔ cup Bisquick, ⅔ cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice. Use a pastry blender to cut in the butter until well combined and only small pieces of butter are visible. Stir in the pecans. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the remaining Bisquick, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Stir in the sour cream, milk, egg, and vanilla until well combined.

Spread half of the cake batter into the bottom of the greased cake pan. Sprinkle evenly with half of the streusel. Top evenly with the remaining cake batter, followed by the rest of the streusel.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.

Thank you for posting this recipe. I appreciate the time and effort. The streusel was good but the cake was very dry. It still tastes good but needs oil or butter.  Also would decrease the temp. Next time I make this recipe I will add a 1/4 cup of coconut oil.  Thank you!

I usually like Baking Addictions recipes but this was VERY dry and crumbly. (I used JiffY baking mix. ) The cake tasted great but even after knocking 10 minutes off of the baking time, it was still very dry and crumbly. Baking mix products often end up tasting like dry biscuits with flavoring added. Coffee cakes and muffins really need some oil to stay moist.
