My fam loved these! A quick and easy appetizer! I added egg and a little bit of milk so they wouldn’t be too dry. Delish!

I’ve been making these over 30 years. They’re great!  I’ve always served them with grape jelly that has been melted over low heat on the stove. Yummy.

We've made these for years. We cook the sausage first and add approximately 2/3 cup milk. This makes it a more biscuit texture. We call them "breakfast cookies".

Too dry for us. Would use an egg next time and less Bisquick. Didn’t love them so I chopped up the left overs and used them for breakfast burritos.

I don't even know how this has been a favorite, followed directions to a T. Were terrible, also who uses bisquick in a sausage recipe.

Terrible! Ughh after you mix all the meat is all dry and you can’t make the balls because is so dry. I had to improvised...

The mixture was a little dry but I suspect that it's because of the extremely lean sausage and a somewhat harder extra sharp cheddar. The sausage may also have been a little too cold.  To make the mix malleable, I added a little chardonnay. (I may have been looking for a reason to uncork a bottle at 10 AM.) Nonetheless, the result is outstanding. Next time for this recipe it's chorizo.

These were great! I diced half an onion and caramelized them to add to the mix. Great addition to the flavor profile. I also added an egg and a half cup of milk to keep them moist! Gone in half an hour!!!

These biscuit mix (Bisquick ) cheesy sausage balls are a holiday staple as an appetizer and also grace many a table for holiday breakfasts as well! Only three ingredients and you have a delicious snack or side.

Sausage Balls Recipe (Classic Bisquick Sausage Balls)

Cheddar cheese (shredded)

biscuit baking mix

freeze dried chives ((optional))

milk ((if needed))

Preheat your oven to 350 °F.

In a large bowl, combine the ground sausage, biscuit baking mix and shredded cheese.

Form into 24 golf ball sized balls and place on baking sheets.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown and the sausage is cooked through entirely.

Remove and serve hot!

Pound Pork Sausage

Ounces Sharp Cheddar Cheese, (Grated)

Cup Milk

Teaspoon Italian Seasoning

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.&nbsp; Spray a rimmed baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Using a cookie scoop, shape into 1-inch balls, squeezing sausage balls so the hold their forms. Place on baking sheet.

Bake until brown, about 20 to 25 minutes. Best served warm.

Bisquick baking mix

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix Bisquick, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, dry mustard, minced onion and sour cream together with a hand or upright mixer.

Add sausage and blend well.

Using a 1 inch melon scooper, scoop balls of dough onto a baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown on the edges.

Serve warm with ranch or honey mustard dressing.

You only need three ingredients for these sausage balls, which are an easy appetizer for holiday parties or a quick make-ahead breakfast for busy mornings!

Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, use your hands or a rubber spatula to combine all of the ingredients. Add milk, one or two tablespoons at a time, until the mixture holds together.

Roll into golf ball-sized balls (I like to use a 1 ½ -inch dough scoop for this). Arrange on parchment-lined baking sheets.

Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Serve warm or at room temperature.

This is a family favorite- they were served every Christmas at my aunts house for as long as I can remember!  We use syrchup (half syrup, half ketchup) for the dip!

The ingredient proportions of this recipe  is  perfect. I have tried the 3 parts Bisquick to one part sausage as well as the 1/1 variation and this one is  best. Also there are many temperatures ranging from 300 degrees to 400  and  times and is  very confusing. If deciding which one to go with I recommend this one!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. 

In a large bowl, mix together the sausage, shredded cheese, and baking mix. Make sure to combine the mixture gently, without packing it too tightly. 

Scoop the mixture into 1 tablespoon sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown. You can check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to make sure they are fully cooked to 145 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remove the sausage balls from the oven and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess grease. Serve either warm or at room temperature.

Tried many variations of this recipe and this one is the tried and true constant winner. I always cook them about 20 mins to crisp the bottoms. 

Can these be cooked from Frozen and if so what would the temperature be and the time to cook it

This is the way my family has been making these for GENERATIONS. At no point would you cook the sausage prior to mixing and baking.

I've been making these for 40+ yrs, &amp; have always fried the sausage before baking them. I don't want all of that grease in my sausage balls. I bake them at 350 for about 15 minutes.

I have misplaced my recipe for sausage balls and was so happy to have found yours. It is exactly like the one I used, You have made my 2023-year a happy place!!

This has always been my go to recipe. It's simple, fast and delicious. The ONLY thing I do differently is to dump all ingredients in a gallon size zip lock bag, seal it up, and squish it all together. No messy hands and no bowl to wash. So easy!

I made using a Gluten Free pancake mix, and they were just as fantastic as I remember them being.  

I made these Xmas morning and they were a hit! Only 4 of us but we ate each and every one. I used the sage pork, this needs that little bit of seasoning. Making again for New Years day,  it's a fan favorite already!

I've enjoyed these for YEARS from my grandmother,  mother and now me! I've learned that it's a lot easier to mix if you add then bisquick after mixing the sausage and cheese together.  Thanks so much for this because I couldn't remember the measurements.
