I put the dry ingredients in a gallon size ziploc bag, added the cauliflower and shook it up. Then added the milk. It coated very well. I sprayed the parchment paper with cooking spray.

They crisped well. After 10 min in the oven I rotated the cauliflower with tongs. They cooked for a total of 18 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 450˚F (230˚C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, add the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and milk, and stir until well-combined.

Break the head of cauliflower into florets, about 1½-inches wide. Add the cauliflower florets to the batter, making sure each piece is evenly coated. Arrange the coated cauliflower on the baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the buffalo sauce, coconut oil, and honey and stir until evenly combined. Brush the buffalo sauce mixture on the cauliflower and bake for another 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to 400F while you prepare your ingredients.

Whisk together flour and spices until combined, and then add plant milk and whisk until smooth. Mixture should be thick, but still pourable.

Coat each floret of cauliflower in your batter mixture and space out on your baking mat. Bake for 20 minutes.

Coat each floret in buffalo sauce and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes. Cauliflower is ready when lightly crisp on the edges.

These cauli wings are unreal! I was searching high and low for a good vegan/GF recipe and these were perfection! I used chickpea flour and unsweetened almond milk. The cook time was perfect too. I made them with the vegan buffalo sauce recipe linked in the recipe - also a must! I've tried so many recipes over the years for cauli wings and these are by far the tastiest/healthiest/easiest! :)

Buffalo wings have been a staple in bars across the U.S. and Canada, but what if there was a more health conscious option? Good news! You can get the same flavors using cauliflower instead of fried chicken wings, and a slew of health benefits, too.

Buffalo Cauliflower Recipe

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F and prepare a 9 x 13 baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place butter, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, coconut aminos and garlic powder into a small saucepan over medium heat.

Once the butter is melted, then whisk up the mixture to fully combine.

Take a medium head of cauliflower and remove the stem. Chop these florets into smaller, bite-size pieces and put into a large mixing bowl.

Pour two-thirds of the sauce over the cauliflower and mix with a wooden spoon or hands. (The rest of the sauce will be used for dipping later.)

Pour the cauliflower out on your parchment paper-lined pan and spread the pieces evenly.

Bake for 40 minutes and remove from oven.

This Air fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Wings Recipe is super easy &amp; yummy to make. It is low carb and can be made any time with few ingredients.

Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Wings Recipe

Water

Almond Flour (use more if needed)

Garlic powder

Paprika

tbsp Butter

Frank's Hot Sauce

First of all wash the cauliflower in a Kitchen Colander and dry completely. Now core the cauliflower. Remove the hard stem and leaves from the bottom. Further cut it into medium bite size florets. Set them aside in a bowl.

Preparing the Cauliflower

Take a Mixing Bowl and beat the egg with 2 tbsp water lightly. In another Mixing Bowl, mix Almond Flour, Garlic Powder, Paprika, salt &amp; pepper.

Now dip florets with Kitchen Tongs (one at a time) into egg mixture and then coat in the almond flour mix. Note - be careful while coating in almond flour since almond flour tends to clump fast. If you are using All Purpose flour then roll these in the APF mix. 

Now transfer these coated florets on a clean plate. And line the basket of Air fryer with the Air fryer Parchment Paper.

When ready to air fry, transfer these coated cauliflower florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper. Spray with oil on top. Air fry at 390*F for 12 minutes. Flip in between at about 7-8 minutes for even cooking.

Breading Cauliflower for Air-frying

Meanwhile the cauliflower florets are cooking, prepare the Buffalo sauce. Combine butter and Frank&#39;s Hot Sauce in a Frying Pan over the heat. Cook till butter melts. It’s ready to be dipped.

Making Buffalo Sauce in a frying-pan

Once the cauliflower wings are cooked, toss them in the hot sauce. And place back in the air fryer. Air fry for 2-3 minutes more for the sauce to cook on top of it. It adds to the texture of the wings.

Serve with ranch and some celery sticks &amp; cherry tomatoes on the side.

Serving Suggestion

Make sure not to over-crowd the air fryer basket. If you crowd it, the cauliflower bites will turn out soggy. This is why you want to cook the cauliflower in small batches with space in between for even air-flow. Every air fryer model is different. The time can vary by 1-2 minutes depending upon the model. 

Tips for Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

Yes you can. Bake these in the oven at 450*F for 15-20 minutes. Flip in between for even cooking. Dip in Buffalo Sauce and broil for 1-2 minutes. Serve hot with ranch and celery sticks on the side.

Vegan Buffalo Sauce ((360 milliliters))

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, add soy milk, all purpose flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper and whisk it into a batter.

In a second bowl, add panko breadcrumbs, salt and pepper and mix together.

Add cauliflower florets to the batter and toss the cauliflower in the batter until all the florets are coated.

Then transfer the florets, in batches, to the breadcrumbs bowl and gently toss them in the breadcrumbs until they are coated on all sides.

Place the coated cauliflower florets onto the prepared baking tray.

Bake for 20 minutes.

Remove the cauliflower from the oven and place it into a large bowl.

Add vegan buffalo sauce and toss the cauliflower in the sauce until all the pieces are well coated.

Transfer the cauliflower back to the parchment lined baking tray and return to the oven to bake for a final 10 minutes.

Serve topped with a sprinkle of chopped chives and with some vegan ranch dressing to dip.

Crispy Air Fryer Cauliflower

avocado oil

Preheat air fryer to 400F / 200C

Mix together hot sauce, almond flour, avocado oil and salt in a large bowl.

Add the cauliflower and mix until coated.

Add half the cauliflower into the air fryer and fry for 12-15 min (or until crisp at the edges with a little bite still, or it reaches your desired doneness).

Make sure to open the air fryer and shake the frying basket 2-3 times to turn the cauliflower. Remove and set aside.

Add in second batch, but cook it for 2-3 mins less.

Preheat oven to fan assisted 160C / 180C / gas 6 / 350F.

Bake for 35-40 mins (until done and is crisp at the edges with a little bite still or until it reaches your desired doneness) turning a couple of times during baking.

Preheat oven to 450 F. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of avocado oil into a heavy bottom baking dish or large cast-iron skillet and place it in the oven while it preheats.​

In a shallow mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour and water, whisking together until thick and gooey. This will act as your binder between the cauliflower and flour mixture. In a large ziplock bag mix together flour, spices, salt, and pepper. 

Dip each floret into the chickpea flour mixture until completely submerged.  Once coated, place 4-5 florets at a time in the flour mixture. Seal the ziplock bag and shake until florets are completely coated. Place the battered cauliflower in the baking dish and repeat until all the cauliflower is covered.

Bake for 10 minutes. Pull out of the oven, flip cauliflower over and return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes. 

While cauliflower is baking, make your sauce. Place all the ingredients in a small saucepan and cook over medium-low heat until the butter has melted. Remove from heat and set aside to let cool. 

Once cauliflower is ready, remove from the oven. Coat cauliflower with Buffalo Sauce completely and return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes until cauliflower is crispy on the outside.

Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes before serving with homemade ranch dressing, carrots, and celery.

Frank’s Red Hot Sauce

Preheat your oven to 425˚F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Chop the cauliflower into bite-size florets or use two 12-ounce bags of pre-cut cauliflower florets.

Add the flour and spice to a large bowl and whisk together. Pour in the unsweetened almond milk and water and whisk until it creates a smooth batter with no lumps.

Place the florets into the batter in batches and lightly toss until they&#8217;re covered with the batter. Remove the florets one at a time, shake off any excess batter, and lay them on the baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until they are golden brown.

Remove the cauliflower from the oven, place them in a clean large bowl, and cover them with the hot sauce. Stir or toss the cauliflower wings until they are evenly covered in sauce. Place the cauliflower wings back onto the baking sheet and bake for another 20-25 minutes until they are crispy. I like my buffalo wings to have a little char on them so I tend to cook them a little longer.

Once they are done remove them from the oven, place them on a serving dish, and enjoy them like regular buffalo chicken wings alongside celery sticks and carrot sticks.

Hi, Sherry! Honestly, it all depends on your taste and your preference of sauce. You do not have to use this specific sauce. Find one you like and use that one.

Delicious ! My favorite cauliflower wing recipe and I’ve tried a few. Great seasoning in the batter!  I did half Frank’s  and half sweet chili sauce!

I was skeptical, trying this out for the first time, but I was so pleasantly surprised at how great they came out. I honestly dislike Frank's Red Hot, but I kept eating them until I couldn't because the "wings themselves were perfect! My carnivorous hubby and son loved them even more than I did! Next time, I plan to use a different sauce, or just eat as is and use a dip on the side. Thanks!

Hi Shane.  Made this for last night's super bowl and they were excellent.   Even my 14yo anti-veggie kid said he would eat them again.   They tasted great, had a nice texture and I even went  for the extra bit of char (we think alike).  However, I would not say mine were significantly crispy so I don't know if I should be expecting that or not.  I used chickpea flour so maybe that was a factor?.  Thoughts?   Also, the vegan ranch dressing was awesome!

I know it is good because it is from you, my question is has anyone tried making it with your BBQ sauce, I know just try it, but I haven't made any yet sooooo.

LOVED this recipe and the Vegan Ranch Dressing.  We've tried many "Wing" recipes and found them lacking.  My husband suggested using beer instead of the plant milk/water in the recipe.   Might have to try that because your 5 ingredient bread recipe has become a staple in our house.

Just a heads up for those wanting to make these GF.....all flour is not created equal. I used coconut flour because it's what I had.  Coconut flour does not work!! I'll definitely try again with Chickpea or Bobs Red Mill flour that you suggested.

I made these a few times and tonight I made them turned out Amazing! I don’t  add the hot sauce cause I’m a whimp when it comes to hot anything lol so I just baked them a little longer then dip them in BBQ sauce and or your ranch dressing recipe which I use weekly
