Beef and Bean Soup Recipe

Canola oil, divided

beef stew meat, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces

carrot

water

salt

sage

bay leaves

Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat....

Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon canola oil and heat to a ripple.

Add remaining 1 tablespoon canola oil to pan and heat. Add onion, carrot and garlic; saute for 5 minutes.

Return beef to the pan. Stir in water,...

Return beef to the pan. Stir in water, salt, black pepper, thyme, sage, bay leaves, beef broth and beans. Bring to a simmer. Cover and allow to simmer for at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until beef is tender.

Discard bay leaves. Salt and pepper to taste.

McCormick® Chili Seasoning Mix, Original

(16 oz) BUSH’S® Mild Pinto Chili Beans undrained

(14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes undrained

(8 ounces) tomato sauce

Frank’s RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce optional

step 1

 Cook ground beef and onion in large skillet on medium-high heat 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain fat.

step 2

Stir in Seasoning Mix and remaining ingredients, except RedHot Sauce. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 

step 3

Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream and chopped onion, and drizzle with RedHot Sauce, if desired.
