Remove the peels from the bananas and slice them 1/2" inch thick.

Set a nonstick skillet over medium to medium high heat** and add the oil or butter, honey, cinnamon, and salt. Stir to combine.

Add the banana slices, and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden and caramelized. Be sure to watch the heat and turn it down if it browns too quickly. You want enough heat to caramelize and brown the slices, but you don’t want them to burn.

Once the bananas are cooked you can enjoy them as is, or with marshmallow creme and peanut butter in a sandwich, with Bananas Foster French Toast, in oatmeal or yogurt, over ice cream, and more. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter Banana Dessert Pizza

all purpose flour

envelope Fleischmann’s RapidRise® Yeast

sugar

tsp salt

water

yellow bananas,

tbsp unsalted butter, butter

honey

creamy peanut butter

peanuts

chocolate

tsp oil

In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

Mix in the warm water and oil using a wooden spoon. The water should be a warmer than room temperature, but not too hot. 

At this point the dough will be very wet. Mix in another cup of flour and it should come together as a very shaggy dough.

Now work the dough with your hands. Keeping the dough inside the bowl, knead the dough and add 1/4 cup of flour if the dough is still very stick after kneading for about 1-2 minutes. 

In the end you should be left with a smooth and soft dough. Press a clean finger into the surface and if it doesn&#8217;t stick, it&#8217;s ready. If it sticks, keep kneading and add another 2 tbsp of flour. Shape it into a ball and let it rest for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, the dough may not puff up and that&#8217;s OK. Line a pizza pan or large baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly dust with flour.

Place the dough into the center and press it down into a 12&#8243; circle. Use a fork to prick holes all around the center of the pizza and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the surface is golden brown.

While the pizza bakes, prep the caramelized bananas. In a large skillet, heat the butter and honey over medium heat until melted and bubbly.

Once it starts to bubble, place an even layer of bananas (you may have to fry in 2 batches). Let the bananas cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms start to brown. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes. 

Spoon the bananas onto a plate and allow to cool. They may be very soft but they will firm up as they cool. 

Once the pizza crust has cooled, spread on an even layer of peanut butter.

Top with the bananas and a sprinkle of chopped peanuts.

For the chocolate, heat the chocolate and oil in the microwave for 30 seconds. Drizzle onto the pizza and enjoy!

Caramelized bananas are so simple, but OMG, are they heavenly! I’ve made this 2-ingredient recipe countless times, and it never ceases to delight.

Caramelized Bananas (Easy Recipe)

Peel and slice bananas into lengthwise slices or thick round coins. Grease a plate with butter or cooking spray and set it aside.

Pour sugar on a separate plate and roll the bananas around until completely coated.

Cook the bananas in a preheated, medium-high heat skillet until light to golden brown at the bottom, about 4-5 minutes. Be careful not to burn them. Gently lift the bananas with a fork to see underneath. Flip them over right away if you smell or see them over-browning.

Once flipped over, reduce the heat to medium and cook the other side of the bananas for 1 minute.

Transfer the caramelized bananas onto the greased plate. Arrange them in a single layer - no overlapping - to keep them from sticking together. Serve them as is or top them on ice cream, pancakes, or waffles. Enjoy!

Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add in the banana slices so that they’re not overlapping and then sprinkle on the brown sugar and cinnamon. Toss gently to coat each slice.

Cook the bananas for 4 minutes, flip, and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until they’re caramelized on both sides. Be sure to watch the pan and gently move the bananas around a little so that they don’t stick.

Remove from heat and serve! These are great served over ice cream, on pancakes or waffles, or even enjoyed on their own!

I added pecan pieces and served over French toast with crispy bacon.  Oh, yum!
