Frozen Chicken Tenders in Air Fryer

Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees.

Lay frozen tenders in one layer, not overlapping, in basket and cook for 8 minutes. (timing will vary slightly depending on how large and thick your pieces are)

When time is up leave them in the closed basket for 5 minutes so the middle can continue to heat up.

There&#x27;s several things which affect how the frozen chicken strips cook. They all vary in size,  thickness, type and heaviness of the breading so you’ll have to adjust timing. For best and even cooking, don&#x27;t overcrowd the basket. Fill just an even single layer of chicken strips. If using uncooked breaded chicken strips, add an extra minute or two if needed to make sure it is cooked through. All air fryers are different and some cook much hotter than others. Once you cook your first batch of chicken strips, you’ll know more of what works for your model of air fryer and size of food. These were tested on basket style air fryers. Frozen Chicken Strips (Tenders) ((about 4 strips))

Place the frozen chicken strips in the air fryer basket and spread out into a single even layer. No oil spray is needed.

Air Fry at 400°F/205°C for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken over and then continue to cook at 400°F/205°C for another 2-5 minutes or until cooked through and crispy.

Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Strips Tenders with Time & Temp.

Cut each chicken breast into 4-6 strips. Prepare the breading and batter into two separate bowls.

Dip each piece of chicken into the breading then into the wet batter and then into the breading again. Shake off excess flour and repeat with the other chicken pieces.

In a large pot or dutch oven heat oil to 350°F.  Fry chicken in small batches for 6 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce!

These Chicken Tenders are crispy, well seasoned, and so simple to make. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauces for an easy dinner that the whole family will love.

Chicken Tenders

all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)

Preheat oven to 425° F. Place an oven-safe wire rack on a rimmed baking sheet. (If you do not have an oven-safe wire rack, you can bake the chicken right on the baking sheet. See note below.) Spray the rack or baking sheet with cooking spray.

To prepare the breading on the chicken, you will need 3 wide, shallow bowls, dishes or pie plates. In one dish, place the flour. In the second dish, beat together the eggs and water. Then, to the dish with the beaten eggs, add the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper and mix with a whisk or fork until well combined and no clumps of spices remain. In the third dish, place the panko bread crumbs.

Coat the chicken first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the panko. Place chicken on the prepared baking rack/sheet.

Bake for 16-18 minutes, or until cooked through to at least 165° F and lightly browned. If desired, you can turn on the broiler during the last few minutes of cooking to help crisp the coating on the chicken even more. Serve with dipping sauces, as desired.

Place the chicken tenderloins on a plate or a sheet of wax paper. Brush the melted butter or oil on to the chicken strips. Coat them all over.

Add panko or breadcrumbs and seasonings to a ziplock bag, dipping tray, or plate and stir or shake to mix. Place about 4 chicken strips to the bag (don&#39;t crowd them) and shake them to coat the chicken with the Shake and Bake seasonings and panko. Or dip the chicken tenders into the seasoning mix on a plate or dipping tray. Press gently if needed for coating to stick.

Prepare the chicken tenderloins

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Prepare the shallow casserole dish or baking sheet by spraying it with cooking oil.

Place coated chicken tenderloins on the prepared casserole pan or a baking sheet. Add fresh or frozen green beans, asparagus, sliced bell pepper, or broccoli, if desired.

Bake at 375ºF for 15- 17 minutes, until golden and crisp. Check the chicken tenders internal temperature to see if they are at least 165ºF in the center. Remove from the oven.

Honey Mustard Chicken Strips

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, mustard, honey, garlic powder, paprika, and some freshly ground black pepper. Stir until everything is evenly combined then taste and season with salt to your liking. Divide the sauce into two portions. Half will be the marinade and half will be the dipping sauce – it MUST stay separate. Keep the sauce refrigerated until ready to use.

Trim the chicken breasts of excess fat and slice diagonally into 1/2 inch thick strips. You should get about 14-16 strips total. Place the sliced chicken in a bag or bowl with half of the honey mustard sauce and stir to coat. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or over night.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Prepare a dredging station by lining a large baking sheet with foil and then placing two wire cooling racks on top. The wire racks keep the strips lifted as they bake so that the bottoms will crisp too. Coat the wire racks with non-stick spray. Pour the panko crumbs into a wide, shallow bowl.

One by one, coat the chicken strips with panko crumbs. Do not wipe off excess honey mustard sauce before coating with panko, the sauce helps it adhere. Place the strips on the wire rack as you bread them. Continue until all of the strips are coated with panko crumbs. Discard the leftover honey mustard sauce that the chicken was marinating in.

Bake the chicken strips in the oven until the crumbs have turned golden brown (about 30 minutes). To Fry: Alternatively, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the surface of the oil looks wavy. Fry a few strips at a time on each side until they are golden brown and crispy. Drain on a plate covered with paper towels.

Serve warm with the reserved half of the honey mustard sauce.

Set cooling racks over a baking sheet so that you can transfer the chicken onto the racks and allow excess oil to drip from the bottom. The air flow on all sides ensures the chicken stays crispy.

Cut the chicken breast into strips that are about ¾ inch thick and 5 inches long. Pat completely dry. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper on each side. (Use about 1/4-1/2 teaspoon coarse or kosher salt per pound of chicken)

Optional Step #1: Dry brine the seasoned chicken breast by letting it sit uncovered in the fridge for 4 hours on the bottom shelf. This keeps it dry on the outside which allows the breading to stick to it well. It also allows the salt to penetrate through the chicken which allows the inside to become juicy, tender, and flavorful.

Optional Step #2: If possible, remove the chicken from the fridge 20 minutes before frying for even cooking throughout.

Combine the breading ingredients and set aside.

Crack egg whites into a small bowl, save the egg yolks for another dish if desired.

Beat the egg whites until fluffy and frothy.

Place saran wrap over the chicken and use the rough side of a meat mallet to pound the meat and create texture on the outside, this allows the breading to work it&#39;s way into the crevices and creates grip to hold on to the breading.

Dip each piece of chicken into the egg whites, then coat it generously in the breading mix, allow every cook and cranny to get thoroughly coated.

Add oil to a dutch oven, fill it no more than halfway. Heat to 350-375 degrees. (You can also use a deep fryer.)

Fry the chicken tenders in batches, each side will take about 4 minutes to sufficiently brown. Remove and transfer to cooling racks.

PRO TIP: Transfer cooling racks to a 200° oven to keep the chicken warm while you fry the remaining batches.

Ensure the internal temperature has reached 165° prior to serving.
