These Chinese-style garlic green beans are the perfect side dish. The green beans are flash fried, which gently blisters the outer skin but keeps the center tender and lightly crisp. Serve with my pork and cabbage potstickers and jasmine rice!

Chinese Garlic Green Beans

green beans, rinsed, and dried (see note 1)

garlic (about 5 to 6 plump cloves)

Snap off the tough ends of the green beans. If your green beans are very long, snap them in half.

Heat the oil in a wok over medium-high heat. To check to see if the oil is hot enough, stick bamboo chopsticks into the wok so that the tips of the chopsticks are touching the bottom. Chinese Garlic Green Beans (Mama Lin Recipe)

Asian Green Beans - Crispy flavorful green beans better than take out or the Chinese Buffet.  It's a quick and easy side dish.

Asian Green Beans Recipe

vegetable oil

soy sauce

sugar

lb. fresh green beans, (edges trimmed)

garlic cloves, (minced)

Pre-heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.

In a small bowl, add the oil, soy sauce, and sugar. Stir to combine.

Add the green beans to the skillet. Then, carefully add the soy sauce mixture to the hot skillet (liquid may spatter a bit). Stir to coat the beans in sauce. Cook for about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir the garlic into the green beans. Cook for 1 minute, stirring often. Then, remove the skillet from the heat.

Air Fryer Green Beans with Garlic (Chinese-style)

Green Beans (ends trimmed)

Sesame oil (or olive oil

Soy Sauce (use Tamari for gluten-free)

Rice Vinegar

Garlic (freshly minced, garlic powder)

Ginger (freshly grated, optional)

Black pepper

Sesame Seeds

red pepper flakes (optional)

Prep Green Beans

Wash and trim the rough ends off the green beans. Pat them dry.

Season

In a large bowl, add all the seasoning ingredients and mix well. Add the green beans. Toss them well, so they are all coated with the seasoning.

Cook

Transfer the seasoned green beans to the air fryer basket. Shake basket to spread the green beans. Set the air fryer to 380°F. Air fry for 6-8 minutes for the perfect texture. Shake the basket half way through. (Preheating is not required. The cooking time includes preheating time).

Serve

Serve and enjoy green beans. Optionally, sprinkle some sesame seeds.

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Season and transfer the green beans to a large sheet. Spread evenly so they do not overlap. Cook for about 12-15 minutes.

These tender and blistered Chinese-style garlic green beans are paleo, Whole30, gluten free, and low carb! Simply stir fry green beans in a hot pan and toss with a garlicky sauce for a quick and easy side dish!

avocado oil

green beans, (stem ends trimmed)

minced garlic ((¼ cup minced garlic = 6

bone broth, (chicken broth, or vegetable broth)

coconut aminos

Heat a large skillet  or wok on medium high heat for 3 to 5 minutes. When the pan is hot, swirl in the avocado oil and add the green beans.

Cook, stirring frequently, for 3 to 5 minutes or until the green beans are blistered and tender. Transfer the cooked green beans to a platter, leaving the oil in the skillet.

Turn down the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the empty pan. Cook, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant. Don&#39;t burn the garlic! Pour in the broth and scrape up the browned bits. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

Next, add the coconut aminos, and Umami Stir-Fry Powder, Spicy Sichuan Powder, or Diamond Crystal kosher salt and stir up any browned bits. Taste and adjust the sauce for seasoning.

Add the blistered green beans back in the pan and toss well to coat the beans with the garlic sauce. Plate and serve!
