In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic, salt, cayenne pepper and black pepper until thoroughly blended. Add the egg and milk, and stir until combined. Pour the batter into a tall glass until 1.5-inches from the rim of the glass.

Heat the oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until hot. Insert skewers 3-inches into the center of the hot dog, leaving 3-inches exposed for the handle. Dip the corn dog into the tall glass until thoroughly coated on all sides. Gently place 2 to 3 corn dogs into the hot oil, and turn using tongs, until golden brown on all sides. Remove the corn dogs from the oil and place on paper towels to drain. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs. Serve.

There are several factors which influence outcome of how frozen corn dogs cook. They all vary in size, thickness, and the coating (some will have more honey or maybe some sugar in the coating) so you’ll have to adjust timing. For best and even cooking, don&#x27;t overcrowd the basket. Fill just an even single layer of corn dogs (especially for the mini corn dogs). All air fryers are different and some cook much hotter than others. Once you cook your first batch of corn dogs, you’ll know more of what works for your model of air fryer and size of food. These were tested on basket style air fryers. Read more recipe notes below the recipe. Air Fryer Frozen Corn Dogs - Mini Corn Dogs Too!

Is there anything more delicious than the sweet and savory combination of the crispy outer batter and the stretchy cheese pulls Korean corn dog?

Korean Corn Dog

hot dogs (cut in half)

mozzarella cheese

tbsp sugar (plus extra to finish)

tsp salt

tsp baking powder

milk

panko

High heat oil

mustard (as needed, optional)

ketchup (as needed, optional)

Skewer the hot dogs and cheese on sticks, hot dogs on the bottom and cheese on top. Place in the fridge to keep cold.

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and sugar. Mix in the egg and milk until thick and smooth. Pour into a tall cup and place into the fridge. Pour the panko onto a shallow plate that you will be able to roll the corn dog in.

In a deep fryer or a deep wide pot, heat up the oil (enough so that the hot dog will float) over medium high to medium heat, until it reaches 350°F. When the oil is almost at temp, take the skewered dogs from the fridge and dip into the batter, making sure it is completely coated.

Roll the coated corn dog in panko, making sure that the panko coats all of the batter, using your hands to gently press it on if needed.

Carefully add the coated corn dog to the oil and fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden and crispy, turning as needed. Remove from the oil and let rest on a wire rack.

Roll or sprinkle the corn dog with sugar and drizzle on mustard and ketchup. Enjoy hot!

Crunchy, sweet, and salty Korean Corn Dogs made in 3 ways: with panko breadcrumbs, potato, or crunchy ramen toppings. Stuffed with hot dogs and cheese, coated in batter and toppings, this delicious Korean street food is deep fried to perfection.

Korean Corn Dogs 3 Ways

dogs,

mozzarella sticks, pat dried

milk, lukewarm ((250 grams))

brown sugar ((30 grams))

instant dry yeast ((7 grams))

½ teaspoon salt, fine ((2 grams))

egg,

all-purpose flour ((300 grams))

panko breadcrumbs

potato,

ramen noodles, crushed

vegetable oil, for frying ((1.5 litres))

In a large bowl combine the lukewarm milk, sugar, and yeast. Give it a good whisk to combine, then let sit for 5 minutes. Add in the egg and salt, then mix again to combine.

Sift the flour into the wet mixture, then mix for 1-2 minutes with a hand mixer. Cover and let proof in a warm place for at least 1 hour.

Once proofed, transfer the batter into a tall glass.

Batter

Prepare 1 large plate with panko breadcrumbs.

Peel and cut a potato into small cubes. Place the cubes onto a separate plate. Pat dry with paper towel and toss through some flour or corn starch. Add potato seasoning if desired.

Crush a pack of ramen noodles with a rolling pin. Place the noodle pieces on a separate plate and sprinkle the ramen flavouring on top.

Toppings

Heat up a wide and deep pan/ pot with vegetable oil. Use a kitchen thermometer to bring the temperature of the oil to 330-350°F (165-175°C).

Cut the hotdogs in half, then portion mozzarella sticks the same length as the hotdogs.

Onto a skewer slide one half hot dog, followed by the mozzarella stick.

Dip the skewer into the tall glass to coat the corn dog in batter. Use a twisting motion when taking out the skewer, to get an even coat.

Roll the battered skewer through breadcrumbs. Fry immediately for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Only fry 2 corn dogs at a time and ensure the temperature of the oil is constant.

Making the Korean style corn dogs

After dipping the hot dog in batter, roll it through cubed potatoes or crushed noodles.

Roll through breadcrumbs, using your hands to shape the corn dog and help everything stick.

Fry for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown in colour.

Potato or ramen topping

After frying, sprinkle a little sugar over the corn dogs. Top with ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, Sriracha or sweet chilli sauce.

Enjoy while piping hot for extra melty bites!

Using skewers or long chopsticks, thread the hot dogs. Make sure to leave enough of the handle to keep ahold of while frying. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, four, sugar, baking powder, salt and pepper.

In another bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir to combine. The batter should be fairly thick, but if it’s too thick, add in a little extra milk, a tablespoon at a time.

Heat several inches of oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. The oil needs to be around 350ºF.

Transfer the batter to a tall cup. It’s easiest to dip the hot dogs if the cup is deeper than the hot dog is long.

Working with one hot dog at a time, dip the dog into the batter, twisting it to coat it with the batter. Lift the hot dog out and let any excess drip off (but make sure the hot dog is still completely coated).

Place the dipped hot dog into the hot oil and start to twirl the hot dog by the stick. I’ll usually rest the stick on the side of the pan, but make sure that the hot dog is completely covered by hot oil. Once the coating has started to brown a bit, you can stop twisting the hot dog, but you’ll want to make sure the hot dog browns evenly on all sides.

Once the hot dog is golden brown, remove it from the oil and place on a paper towel covered plate.

Hey! Just dust it with some flour before dipping it in the batter. Works best! :)

Fill a large stockpot with canola oil and attach a deep-fry thermometer. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180°C). Adjust the heat to maintain this temperature. Set a wire rack over a baking sheet nearby for draining the fried corn dogs.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and Takis seasoning powder.

In a 2-cup liquid measuring cup, whisk together 1 cup of milk and the egg until well combined.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until a thick batter forms. If the batter is too thick to whisk, add more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency. Transfer the batter to a tall, narrow container and refrigerate until ready to use.

Thread each hot dog half onto a wooden skewer, cut-side up, pushing it down to about 2 inches below the tip.

Thread mozzarella rectangles onto the skewers above the hot dogs, aligning them with the cut ends.

Place crushed Takis on a small baking sheet or tray. Working one at a time, dip each skewered hot dog and cheese into the batter, coating completely. Shake off excess batter.

Roll the battered corn dogs in the crushed Takis until well coated, using your fingers to press the crumbs on as needed.

Carefully place 2–3 coated corn dogs into the hot oil at a time. Fry for 2–3 minutes, turning as needed, until golden brown and crispy.

Use tongs to transfer the fried corn dogs to the prepared wire rack to drain excess oil. Repeat with remaining corn dogs.

Drizzle with Kewpie mayonnaise and dust with Taki powder.
