Before mixing ingredients, ensure that your chosen ice cream maker is ready to churn ice cream (attachments frozen, ice added, etc).

In a medium bowl, whisk together heavy whipping cream, milk, sugar, cotton candy syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until sugar is dissolved.

Using food coloring: Depending on brand of cotton candy syrup used, ice cream mixture might already have some color. If you&#039;d like to adjust it, keep in mind that only a small amount of food coloring is needed to create noticeable changes. Start with a drop or two, mix, and then decide if more is needed; remember that i&#039;s easy to add more, but impossible to take it out.

Pour mixed ice cream mixture into chilled bowl/attachment of your ice cream maker.

Churn ice cream for 25-30 minutes or until desired consistency is reached.

If you&#039;d like soft ice cream, serve cotton candy ice cream immediately as desired. If you&#039;d like firmer ice cream, transfer ice cream to your chosen storage container and let it freeze for another 4-6 hours.

I did the same the second time I made it (I added an entire cup of the syrup) plus I did not add the vanilla extract - it took over the cotton candy flavor. I’ve now used the recipe for root beer, pistachio, cinnamon, lavender, and kiwi ice creams. It’s quick and yields solid results.

I made this yesterday and put it in an "airtight, stackable, reusable" container (got on Amazon a few years ago), and it fit perfectly. It was about 1.5 quarts.

I might try decreasing the sugar and increasing the syrup next time! It was still delicious!

My sin loves cotton candy ice cream.  I made it for his birthday.  I cut the sugar down to 1/2 cup and increased the cotton candy syrup to a little more than 3/4 cup to get more of the cotton candy flavor.  I also added a little blue food coloring to make it a darker blue.my son was happy with the end product!  Thanks for posting!

Made this today. My boys love the Rite Aid Cotton candy ice cream. So I was trying to find a recipe to duplicate that.  I bought the jelly belly cotton  Candy flavoring syrup. And I used a half a cup like the recipe asked for.  With just half a cup, it just tasted like plain vanilla ice cream, but really sweet. So I added at least another cup of the cotton candy syrup and we got the cotton candy flavor!  I did not add any food coloring. Next time I will probably lower the sugar amount, and add more of the syrup.

I made this with cotton candy syrup. It's definitely sweet. I would do 1/2 cup of sugar. Instead of 3/4. And it isn't blue enough without the food coloring. We definitely needed to add some.

Does this taste like the cotton candy ice cream at cold stone or rite aid? I'm hoping this recipe would because I can't seem to find any recipes for it! I love cotton candy ice cream because it reminds me of my childhood and my kids absolutely love it to death : )

This recipe looks AMAZING. If I ever get the funds, i will most definately make this! cotton candy is one of my favorite flavors of ice cream, so this would probably be the first recipe I would try ;3
