Clarified Piña Colada

1.5 oz barrel rested rum

oz coconut rum

2.5 oz coconut water

pineapple juice

oz lime juice

oz demerara syrup

dropper Tiki bitters

oz milk

This colourful and delightful fruit-infused gin is easy to make and wonderful for shaking up (or stirring up?) your cocktail game.  Black or white currants can easily be used instead of red.

Red Currant Gin

3.5 oz red currants ((~1/2 cup, slightly mounded))

Combine gin and red currants in a mason jar or other tightly sealing container.

Use a spoon to gently mash the currants a little to help them release some juice, then set aside to infuse for 1 month, shaking every few days.

When the gin is ready to use, strain out the solids.  You may want to gently press against the leftover currants in order to extract all of the liquid.  Pour the finished gin through a strainer. I like to use a coarse strainer, followed by a very fine strainer in order to get a clearer final product.Store the gin in a mason jar or sealed bottle and use as you would any other gin.

This hot pink, sweet-tart healthy hibiscus margarita recipe uses traditional ingredients, combined with hibiscus flower syrup or tea creating a tasty drink.

Healthy Hibiscus Margarita

hibiscus syrup (or concentrated hibiscus tea)

lime juice (freshly squeezed)

100% agave tequila (gold or silver)

orange liqueur (I used Grand Marnier)

Rim Glass with salt or sugar

If desired, first rim glass with salt or sugar. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, turning glass upside down into a plate of margarita salt or other coarse salt.

Combine all ingredients and add to glass,

Fill glass with crushed ice, then add hibiscus syrup, lime juice, tequila and grand marnier, stir to combine. If desired, garnish with a wedge of lime, hibiscus flower (rehydrated or from a syrup) and or other fresh seasonal berries.

Signature cocktails are a unique and fun way to celebrate the most festive of seasons! Our Craft Cocktail Kits allow you to create three custom-flavored infusion kits for gifting: Fruitcake, Mulled Wine, and Lavender Lemonade. Once the recipient has infused their favorite spirits, each kit will produce enough flavored alcohol to make 8-10 signature cocktails.

Craft Cocktail Kits for Gifting

green cardamom pods (cracked)

Layer the ingredients for the desired cocktail kit into a 12-ounce glass jar, placing smaller ingredients on the bottom and layering in larger ingredients like dried citrus wheels.

Seal the jar and the cocktail kit is ready for gifting. It will keep stored, sealed tightly for at least 4-6 weeks.

To make any of the Craft Cocktail Kits

For the Fruitcake and Lavender Lemonade Craft Cocktail Kit simply add 10 ounces of the desired type of alcohol into the glass jar along with the flavoring components. All of the ingredients should be submerged.

Refrigerate for 3-5 days. Shake well, then strain.The lavender lemonade infusion will happen much quicker than the Fruitcake. Dried lavender is a potent edible flower that can easily overpower a dish. We recommend to begin tasting this infusion at the 24 hr mark.

The flavor components can be used again to infuse another batch of alcohol if desired or can be discarded at this point.

Each Cocktail Kit makes enough infused Fruitcake or Lavender Lemon flavored alcohol to make up to 8 cocktails of your choice.

When ready to infuse alcohol with the cocktail kits:

Add the sugar cubes from the Craft Cocktail Kit jar in a saucepan along with 3/4 cup water over medium heat. Stir periodically until the sugar dissolves.

Lower the heat and add all of the remaining ingredients from the jar to the pot. Bring back to a simmer and simmer for 1-2 minutes.

Add one bottle of California red wine and stir to combine. Heat over very low heat for 10-15 minutes. Make sure not to boil or even allow this to bubble once the wine has been added. You are just looking for a nice warm heat where you can see the steam rising from the pan, but there is no disruption to the liquid.
