Cranberry Jell-O Shots Will Help You Really Get Sauced This Thanksgiving!

These fluffy, flaky buttermilk biscuits are perfect for your holiday breakfast or brunch and feature fresh cranberries and cozy spices!

Cranberry Buttermilk Biscuits

butter

whole wheat or all-purpose flour

coconut sugar (or regular granulated sugar)

baking powder

baking soda

salt

cinnamon

nutmeg

cranberries (rinsed)

buttermilk

sugar

half and half

vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Grease bottom and sides of a cast iron pan with 2 tablespoons of butter.

In a medium bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt until combined.

Add the 8 Tablespoons cold butter pieces to the dry ingredients and using a pastry cutter, fork or fingers, cut the butter into the flour mixture until butter pieces are pea sized and incorporated into the dry ingredients well.

Add in cranberries and toss to combine.

Lastly, add in buttermilk and gently work together until dough starts to come together

Scoop biscuit dough onto floured surface and gently work together with hands. Pat dough out into disc and fold in half over itself, gather any crumbs and flatten back into a disc. Repeat two more times.

Form a disc about ¾ of an inch thick and cut out biscuits with a floured 2-3 inch biscuit cutter or glass, reworking dough as needed until you have 8 biscuits. Place biscuits into buttered pan very closely together.

Place biscuits into the oven and bake for 15-17 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.

Remove from oven and brush with melted butter if desired.

Whisk together powdered sugar, half and half and vanilla extract in a small bowl and drizzle over warm biscuits.

It&#039;s easy to make delicious cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving or any time of the year.  Trust me this is so much better than having it plop out of a can and it only take minutes to make!

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

cranberries ((about 3 cups))

water

Sugar

lemon juice

tsp orange zest (or lemon zest)

place all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, allow to continue a slow boil for 5 minutes

reduce heat and allow to simmer for 15 minutes, the sauce will thicken

allow to cool for about 20 minutes, then refrigerate overnight.

Cranberry sauce will become jellied when fully chilled.

Cranberry Orange Bread

flour

tsp baking powder

tsp baking soda

tsp salt

eggs

orange juice (fresh)

tbsps orange zest

tbsp flour (to coat 1 1/4 cups cranberries, if desired)

1-1 1/2 tbsps orange juice

Combine melted butter, fresh squeezed orange juice, orange zest, eggs, sugar and buttermilk until smooth and well combined.

Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix until just blended.

Coat 1 1/4 cup cranberries in 1/2 tablespoon flour.

Fold coated cranberries into the batter.

Place batter into a greased 9 x 5 bread pan-or use parchment paper.

Press 1/4 cup reserved cranberries into the top of the batter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.

Remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack. Allow 10 minutes to cool.

Use a butter knife to loosen the edges of the bread from the pan. Finish cooling on the cooling rack.

When bread has cooled, make the icing by mixing the powdered sugar with the orange juice or milk.

Drizzle over the top of the bread. Serve and enjoy, refrigerate or slice and freeze.

Cold weather doesn't mean letting go of every chilled beverage. This spritzer combines the tastes of the cooler season with the refreshing fizz of warmer weather drinks.

Cranberry-Basil Spritzer

c. unsweetened cranberry juice

L club soda

<strong>Make Basil Syrup</strong>:&nbsp;In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, bring water and sugar to a boil. Stir to dissolve sugar. Add basil leaves, remove pan from heat, and let steep for 20 minutes.Strain syrup and let cool for at least 1 hour.&nbsp;

<strong>Make Spritzer</strong>:&nbsp;In a large pitcher, combine syrup, unsweetened cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice. Fill pitcher with chilled club soda, then add lime slices, fresh cranberries, and basil leaves. To serve, pour spritzers over ice, top each with a splash more club soda, and garnish with basil.

Cranberry Apple Crisp

Honeycrisp apples, (peeled, sliced ¼ inch thick)

tbsp corn starch

brown sugar, (lightly packed)

Preheat oven to 400°

In a large bowl, add apple slices and fresh cranberries.

In a medium bowl, whisk sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, corn starch and salt together and sprinkle over cranberries and apples. Stir to coat. Let sit for 5 minutes and then stir.

Pour fruit into 9 x 13 baking dish and randomly add sliced butter on top of the fruit.

Place in the oven for 20 minutes. Carefully remove from oven, set aside.

For The Cranberry Apple Filling

Whisk together flour and brown sugar in a medium bowl.

Using a pastry cutter, cut butter into flour mixture until crumbly.

Cover fruit with crisp topping and place back in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.

Carefully remove from oven and serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or cool whip.

For The Crisp Topping

This cranberry ricotta cake couldn't be easier to make! No fancy equipment is required for this easy holiday dessert recipe.

Cranberry Ricotta Cake

((113 g) unsalted butter)

oz whole milk ricotta (at room temperature)

eggs (at room temperature)

all-purpose flour

fine sea salt

Grand Marnier

unsalted butter (melted)

In a small bowl, use a fork to combine the ingredients until clumpy. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Streusel Topping

In a small saucepan, combine all the ingredients and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 15 minutes or so, until the cranberries are soft and burst and most of the liquid has evaporated. Cool to room temperature.

Cranberry Topping

Preheat an oven to 350 F. Grease a 10x3" cake pan and line with a circle of parchment paper.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Continue to cook until the butter is golden brown, but not too dark. Transfer to a heat-proof bowl and cool. For more detailed instructions on how to brown butter, scroll up to the blog post.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the ricotta, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add the dry ingredients and the brown butter and fold together until the batter is smooth and there are no streaks of flour. Spread the batter in an even layer in the prepared pan and top with the cranberries. Use a fork to break up the bits of streusel and sprinkle over the top.

Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and cool on a wire rack to room temperature before removing it from the pan and slicing. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.

Nicely wash, drain and pat dry the potatoes. 

Cut one small portion of potato on one side to create a flat base. Place the flat surface at the bottom. Use the chopstick as a guide on two sides and cut straight down till it touches the chopstick into thin or thick slices, the way you prefer.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line your baking pan with parchment paper and keep it aside. 

Arrange the cut potatoes in a single layer in the baking pan. Brush each potato with melted butter and sprinkle some salt. 

Bake for a total of 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the size of the potatoes. 

Add melted butter, oil, cilantro, garlic powder, salt, and mix in a pan. 

Halfway through the baking process (around the 15-minute mark), brush each potato with this garlic herbed butter oil and continue baking for another 15 to 20 minutes or until the edges are crispy and inside is cooked and creamy. 

Once it comes out of the oven, brush again with remaining garlic herbed butter oil, serve and enjoy.
