Cream cheese mints are the best little treat—popular for weddings, at baby showers, and in candy dishes. They are melt-in-your-mouth sweet and incredibly delicious!

Cream Cheese Mints Recipe

oz cream cheese (softened)

butter

confectioners sugar

peppermint oil

food coloring paste (optional)

TB butter

In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar. Cream together until well blended. Add in peppermint oil, one drop at a time. Color as desired or leave white.

Roll into small balls, and place on wax paper.&nbsp;Use a fork dipped in powdered sugar, to flatten each ball.

Let dry on wax paper for about 2 hours then freeze or refrigerate.

Combine cream cheese and butter in the bowl of a stand mixer (or in a large bowl and use an electric mixer) and beat until creamy and well-combined.

With mixer on low-speed, gradually add 2 cups (250g) of sugar, stirring until completely incorporated.

Add peppermint and vanilla extract and stir well.

With mixer on low-speed, gradually add remaining sugar. Stir until sugar is completely combined and pause occasionally to scrape sides and bottom of the bowl. Dough should be very stiff and not sticky (if it’s still sticky, add more powdered sugar until it has a play-dough-like consistency).

If using food coloring: If using just one color you can use your electric mixer to beat the color into the dough. If you&#x27;d like to do several colors, divide the dough into as many bowls as you would like colors and color each individually, stirring well until color is well-incorporated.

Roll dough between your palms into teaspoon-sized portion until smooth. Transfer to wax-paper lined baking sheet. Dip the tines of a fork in powdered sugar and use that to gently but firmly press down on each mint.

Allow mints to dry at room temperature for several hours then transfer to refrigerator and store in an airtight container until ready to serve. Keep mints in single layers with a sheet of wax paper between them to keep from sticking.

Old Fashioned Cream Cheese Mints

With just 4 ingredients, these classic melt-in-your-mouth sweet cream cheese mints can be made to suit all kinds of special occasions from Christmas, to Easter, to weddings, and more!

cream cheese (, softened)

salted butter

sugar (, divided, plus more for pressing)

peppermint extract (, plus an additional 1/2 teaspoon if desired)

Food coloring (, optional)

Beat

In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth with an electric mixer.

Keep the mixer on low and gradually add in 1 cup powdered sugar. Continuing to mix, add the extract and the remaining 3 cups powdered sugar. If the mixture is still sticky add a little more powdered sugar. It should be the consistency of playdough.

Divide into separate bowls (depending on how many colors you&#39;d like). Mix in desired food coloring until well combined. For darker colors that use more food coloring, you may have to add a bit more powdered sugar to keep the mixture from becoming gummy. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.

Roll

Roll 1 teaspoon dough into small balls and place on parchment paper. Dip a fork into powdered sugar and gently press on top to flatten each ball. Let dry 2 to 3 hours at room temperature.

Add cream cheese, butter, mint, and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Use an electric hand or stand mixer to blend for 3-4 minutes. It will be very crumbly.

Put away the mixture and continue mixing by hand, kneading the mixture and forming it into a round ball.

Using a sharp knife, cut the ball into 4 equal parts. Place each portion into a small mixing bowl (like the size of a cereal bowl).

Add one color of food coloring to each bowl, except for one which will remain white. Add 3-4 dots of food coloring gel to each. Fold in the food coloring, mixing by hand or with a fork. Mix until the color is solid and fully blended.

Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese, butter, and salt together until smooth, about 1 minute. On low speed, gradually add powdered sugar until very thick and a pliable dough forms. Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Mix in peppermint extract and a drop of food coloring, if using. (For multiple colors, divide the dough, then add food coloring to each one, and knead until the color is even.)

Pinch off small pieces of the dough into ½-teaspoon-sized balls and press the tops with fork tines. Allow to dry on a prepared baking sheet for at least 1 hour or up to 12 hours to fully harden. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
