Creamy Three-Cheese Spaghetti

I made this tonight for the grandkids! It was a hit. I used butter and olive oil to sauté the garlic in and I used more chicken broth rather than more pasta water for more flavor. I also added fresh chopped chives and  chopped parsley.

We make this all the time but I never add the pasta water. Once my noodles are cooked, I use chicken broth to keep them from sticking while I make the sauce. I also use Italian and parmesan cheese to the sauce to thicken it up, this also give it's more flavor. For mom and dad, I add either shrimp or chicken and then sprinkle the dish with Cajun seasoning. Yummy!!!!

As others have said, it's too watery. It would probably be fine without the pasta water, but I'd keep some on hand just in case. I did accidentally use 16oz of pasta instead of 12oz, so more cheese was needed to thicken it up and give it a slightly cheesy taste. It is bland, but I added garlic salt and black pepper. It's a light tasting pasta, but very filling and satisfying. I used wheat pasta and it tasted no different than a regular pasta. We made some oven roasted shrimp on the side and it complemented the light flavor very well.

This was super runny and lacked flavor. I ended up basically boiling off all the liquid. Salting and adding in a stick of butter along with garlic powder.

This was a disappointing recipe. I had to change multiple ingredients in order to thicken it and the result was still watery. I would definitely not recommend this recipe.

Was pretty good. I ended up adding a bit of flour. Maybe 3 tbsp to tighten it up a bit.

I have found a lot of good recipes here so I decided to purchase the Delish cookbook. We picked 3 items from the cookbook to have for dinner this week and Creamy Three Cheese Spaghetti was on the menu tonight.
 
We followed the recipe but only used 1/2 cup of pasta water. We also had grilled chicken breast to add to it, which it needed for my flavor. As mentioned in previous post, the recipe by itself is bland.

I still give it 5 stars because it was easy enough that my husband was able to make it. We will definitely have again.

Sounds delicious.  I think I’ll add asparagus chicken and bacon to mine for a complete meal.

I tried this recipe.. it turned out pretty good.. I realized that the recipe said to use 1/2 cup of pasta water.. then add more as needed.. but I messed around and added the entire 1 cup lol.. I added Turkey sausage to mine and my wife loved it.. so I must've did something right.. Thanks for the recipe

This is delicious. I added more cheese and made it to my cheesiness likeing but wow this is soooo delicious. I added Italian sausage for a meat.

This recipe is VERY bland. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever.

I made this tonight but used Shrimp and substituted the spaghetti pasta for linguine which makes it look more like an alfredo dish but cheesy!

Slow Cooker Creamy Spaghetti Recipe

Italian sausage

salt

(24 ounce) pasta sauce

spaghetti noodles

fat-free cream cheese

Brown Italian sausage in a medium skillet on stove top until completely cooked through. Season sausage with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Drain excess grease and set aside.

Pour one jar of pasta sauce in the bottom of slow cooker. Break all spaghetti noodles in half and place on top of sauce.

Pour browned sausage over noodles and sprinkle on Parmesan cheese.

Cut cream cheese into bite-sized pieces and place on top of cheese. Pour another jar of pasta sauce over cream cheese.

Cover slow cooker with lid and cook on high for 3 hours. After 3 hours, remove lid and stir contents of the slow cooker. Pour in the last jar of pasta sauce and can of chicken broth.

Replace lid and cook another hour on low or until ready to serve.

Instant Pot Creamy Spaghetti Recipe (Easy Dinner)

ground beef (or ground sausage)

garlic

Italian seasoning

spaghetti sauce ((2) 24 Ounce Bottles)

parmesan cheese

cream cheese

Basil (chopped, optional topping)

Press the SAUTE button. When the pot is hot, add in the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic, Italian seasoning.

Cook until the beef is no longer pink (about 5-7 minutes). If desired, drain grease.

Press CANCEL to turn off the saute.

Break the noodles in half. Layer them in a criss cross pattern so they do not stick as they cooks.

Pour the spaghetti sauce and chicken broth on top of the noodles. DO NOT MIX TOGETHER.

Place lid on top of Instant Pot. Press MANUAL (or PRESSURE COOK) button and set timer for 8 minutes.

When the timer is done, do a QUICK RELEASE of the pressure.

Remove the lid and mix together - make sure that all the noodles are not stuck together.

Add in Parmesan cheese and cream cheese and stir until sauce is creamy and smooth.

Serve topped with fresh basil, if desired.

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1 cup pasta water, and return to pot.

In a large skillet over low heat, heat oil. Cook garlic until fragrant, 1 minute, then stir in ricotta, 1/2 cup pasta water, and lemon zest. Whisk until creamy, then add spaghetti and toss until fully coated.

Looks good, sounds good, tastes....TERRIBLE! Look I read the comments so I wasn't too surprised but I tried it anyway, I mean not everyone likes the same thing. I added more pasta water, then some butter, more garlic and salt and pepper and then some cream but no, it was just not good. Let's just say it was like eating spackle. My husband, like the ever supportive trooper he is ate what was on his plate. My Dad took two bites and that's it. Whoever is reading this who still wants to try this recipe add bacon or shrimp.....or anything to this to make it a little better. Oh and this definitely should be a side dish, not a main dish. Simple and good. You definitely need to make sure that it's well salted in step 3. Also, the red pepper flakes should be more than a garnish. I added about 1 and half tablespoons. Bright and quick.

This was not good at all.  I followed the recipe exactly and found it to be bland and very disappointing.

Easy Creamy Spaghetti

mild Italian sausage

tomatoes

chicken stock (32 ounces)

red pepper flakes

In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Break it apart with a spoon as it cooks.

Once the sausage is cooked through, add the crushed tomatoes, chicken stock, and heavy cream to the pot. Stir to combine.

Add the red pepper flakes and season with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Add the uncooked spaghetti to the pot. Stir frequently to ensure the spaghetti doesn't stick together. Cook until the spaghetti is al dente and has absorbed most of the liquid, about 10-12 minutes.

Add the chicken breast, shallot, garlic, seasonings and broth to slow cooker

Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8

Remove chicken, shred, and return to slow cooker

Break uncooked noodles in half and add to slow cooker along with cream cheese and shredded cheese

Stir all ingredients, replace cover, and let it cook for another 30-60 minutes until noodles are done (add another 1/2 cup water or broth if necessary)

Stir everything to combine and serve immediately

This was great! I needed an extra cup of broth to get my pasta to the al dente stage, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. The leftovers reheat well.

I swapped rotini for spaghetti and added a head of brocolli chopped up and it turned out great! And it made so much!
