What's your favorite way to eat Thanksgiving leftovers?

I don't think I've ever left a review for a recipe and usually I'd turn my nose up at using a packaged ingredient (pillsbury) but this was actually incredible! I served it after Easter with leftovers and it was amazing.. my guests were freaking out about how good it was!!

We just had this for lunch. It's a cross between a day after Thanksgiving sandwich and a day after Thanksgiving casserole. YUM! Very easy to make. We didn't eat it all so hope it heats up well tomorrow.

Literally don't use your leftovers any other way.

Soft and fluffy and slightly sweet, these Sweet Potato Buttermilk Crescent Rolls are perfect for a holiday. These homemade crescent rolls are so much better than store bought!

Sweet Potato Buttermilk Crescent Roll Recipe

mashed sweet potatoes (at room temperature)

buttermilk (at room temperature)

egg (at room temperature)

sugar

active dry yeast ((2 packets))

salt

bread flour

Combine

Combine the sweet potatoes, buttermilk, egg, butter, sugar, yeast and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix on low until combined. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes.

Using the paddle attachment, add in 1 cup of the flour. Add in more flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. If you are using a stand mixer, switch to the dough hook and knead the dough for 6-7 minutes, adding more flour as needed to form a dough that is tacky but not overly sticky.

Rise

Scrape the dough from the bowl and form into a smooth ball. Grease a large bowl and place the dough in the bowl.* Turn the dough to coat in oil. Cover with a towel or a piece of plastic wrap that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Let the dough rise until it has doubled.

Divide

When the dough has doubled, punch the dough down and turn it out onto a counter that has been lightly floured. Cut the dough into 3 equal pieces.

Roll Out

Working with one piece at a time, roll the dough into a circle about 12-inches in diameter. Use a pizza cutter to cut the circle into 12 wedges.

Roll Up

Starting at the wide end, roll up the wedges into a crescent shape. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat liner. Repeat with the remaining 2 balls of dough.

Cover the rolls loosely with a towel and let the rolls rise again until doubled.

Preheat

While the rolls are rising, preheat the oven to 350ºF.

Bake

Once the rolls have doubled, bake them in the preheated oven until they are browned and cooked through, 15-20 minutes.

Melt

Brush

Remove from the oven and brush with the melted butter.

Thank you so much for this recipe! The rolls were just perfect and everyone enjoyed them! I was a little skeptical before trying the recipe out because it had no ratings, but I am sure glad that I tried it out.

I was wondering if I could double the amount of sweet potato without changing the quantities of the other ingredients. I actually would like to increase the nutritional value with the doubled amount. Do you have any experience with this?

French Dip Squares are a delightful and shareable twist on the classic French Dip sandwich. Easy to prepare and perfect for parties or casual family dinners, they deliver comfort and flavor in every bite.

French Dip Squares Recipe

refrigerated crescent rolls

beef

Swiss cheese

dry onion soup mix

Worcestershire sauce

beef broth

Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Layer the Base

Roll out one can of crescent rolls in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together carefully to form a smooth, even dough layer.

Add the Filling

Evenly layer the deli-sliced roast beef over the dough base, then sprinkle the grated Swiss cheese on top of the beef layer for a delicious melty filling.

Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the dry onion soup mix, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Drizzle this flavorful mixture evenly over the cheese layer to enhance taste and moisture.

Top with Dough

Roll out the second can of crescent rolls and carefully place it over the beef and cheese layers, pinching the seams together to create a smooth top layer that seals in the filling.

Place the assembled dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crescent roll dough is golden brown and fully cooked through.

Heat the Broth

While the squares bake, warm the beef broth in a small pot over medium heat to serve as the savory dipping sauce alongside the baked squares.

Cool and Cut

After baking, let the French Dip Squares cool slightly to set, then cut into individual squares suitable for dipping and serving.

Serve

Serve the squares warm alongside the heated beef broth for dipping, allowing each bite to be enjoyed with the flavorful broth.
