This Crockpot apple butter recipes comes together with just six ingredients and can be used atop bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, and more! 

Crockpot Apple Butter

apples (, peeled, cored, and sliced)

(200 grams) light brown sugar (, lightly packed)

(100 grams) granulated sugar

cinnamon

nutmeg

salt

Prepare crockpot by spraying well with cooking spray or use a crockpot liner.

Peel, core, and slice all of the apples and place them in the crockpot.

In a separate bowl, combine the sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Pour the mixture over the apples and stir well, making sure to coat all of the apples.

Set the crockpot on low for 10 hours. After the 10 hours, mash any chunks of apple that remain. Allow to cook for an additional 2 hours.

Remove the lid and use an immersion blender to blend the apple butter until it's smooth. If you prefer, you can let the apple butter cook a little longer with the lid slightly ajar to let it thicken up some more.

Once the apple butter is finished, transfer to containers and allow to cool completely, then refrigerate.

Slow Cooker Apple Butter for Canning

4-5 Pounds Apples in Various Varieties

Cups Sugar*

Crockpot

Pint Jars,

Wash, peel, core apples.

Slice them as thin as possible.

Place apples and sugar into crockpot.

Place crockpot on low and cook for 8-12 hours (I do overnight).

Using a whisk, thoroughly mix apples until they become smooth. Or use a blender if apples were not sliced thinly enough.

Process in large pot for 10 minutes.

Let cool for a few hours, lable, and put away!

Place the apples in a slow cooker. Top with sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg and mix well.

Cover and cook high 5 hours, or low 10 hours, stirring once halfway, until the apples are tender and dark brown.

Uncover and puree with an immersion blender.

Cook on high uncovered 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Spoon into jars or containers, cover and refrigerate.
