CROCK POT SALISBURY STEAK RECIPE

beef

onion (chopped)

mushrooms

cream of mushroom soup (condensed)

breadcrumbs

tsp Garlic Powder

onion soup mix

brown gravy mix

water

In a bowl, mix the beef, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion soup mix, and onions. Mix together until incorporated.

Measure the mixture in ½ C amounts, and form into patties. Fry in a pan until browned on both sides.

Carefully stack in the slow cooker. In a container, mix the gravy mix, water and mushrooms. Pour on top of the patties and cover.

Cook on low for 5 – 6 hours.

After cook time is complete, remove the patties from the cooker, and make a slurry of the cornstarch with 1 tbsp of water. Pour into the cooker and mix well.

Return patties to the mixture and cook for an extra ½ hour for the sauce to thicken.

Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.

eggs, (room temperature)

whole potato chips, (crushed)

dry mustard

garlic powder

salt

black pepper

yellow onion, (thinly sliced)

(10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup

(1 ounce) dry onion soup mix

Mix together beef, eggs, potato chips, dry mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

To a large bowl, add ground beef, eggs, potato chips, dry mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Form into patties.

Using your hands, mix all the ingredients together until fully combined. Form into four equal patties, about ⅓ pound each.

Sear patties.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear each patty for about 2-3 minutes per side. The patties will not be fully cooked.

Place patties in bowl of slow cooker.

Spray the bowl of the crockpot with cooking spray and set the patties on the bottom in a single layer.

Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl. Spread over patties.

To a medium bowl, add onion, cream of mushroom soup, and onion soup mix. Stir to combine. Spread the mixture over the patties.

Cook.

Cook on high for 3 hours, or until patties are cooked through and onions are tender. (The internal temperature of the cooked patties should reach 160°F.)

Mix the ground beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, shallots, Italian seasoning, and milk in a medium mixing bowl.

Shape the beef mixture into 8 patties.

Add vegetable oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the beef patties. Brown both sides for 3 to 5 minutes each. Transfer the patties to a slow cooker.

Top the beef patties with mushrooms, dry onion soup mix and water.

Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours.

Remove the patties from the slow cooker. Mix the cornstarch with a bit of water (about 1 tablespoon) and pour into the slow cooker.

Set the slow cooker to HIGH and stir. Cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until the sauce is thickened.

Add the patties back to the slow cooker with the sauce.

Serve hot. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes or steam veggies, if desired.
