These detox breakfast bowls are packed with antioxidants and protein to kick start your day. You'll get a boost of energy from the dirty chai made with coconut milk! A gluten free, vegan, healthy breakfast.

Vegan Dirty Chai “Detox” Breakfast Bowls {Gluten Free}

cinnamon

tsp cardamon

cloves

tsp ground ginger

tsp ground white or black pepper

sea salt

gluten free quick oats or 2/3 c rolled oats

tbsp almonds (slivered, whole,

maple syrup

– 14 oz non dairy milk

tbsp coffee

chocolate

tbsp coconut flakes (unsweetened)

tbsp coconut cream

First place all your chai mixes in a bowl. Mix together.

Next arrange your oats, quinoa, and almonds in a large bowl. Stir in your chai mix and maple syrup. Set aside.

Heat up 12-14 ounces of non dairy milk. Stir in espresso until dissolved.

Pour 10 ounces of the milk/espresso over the oats. More if you don&#8217;t want any espresso left for topping. I kept 3-4 ounces of the espresso latte mix to pour over each bowl once ready to eat.

Place bowl in fridge for 2 hrs or up to 24 hrs overnight.

Once the &#8220;detox&#8221; breakfast bowls have soaked, remove from fridge.

Scoop 1/2 cup to 2/3 cup into bowls. Reheat bowl if desired or keep cold.

Add a scoop of vegan yogurt or coconut cream (the thickened portion from the can of coconut milk) on top of each bowl.

Pour 1 ounce additional milk espresso mix (latte basically) on top of each bowl to make it a &#8220;dirty chai.&#8221; Pour the brew hot or cold brew depending on personal choice. Both ways taste great!

Sprinkle with coconut flakes, cacao nibs (or dark chocolate), and any additional almonds, spices, etc.

Well, you can't go wrong with chocolate - coconut- oats!!

THIS IS A FIVE STAR RECIPE PEOPLE!! I have tried many, many different overnight oatmeal bowls that all leave me cold (&amp; often leave half still in the bowl)  but THIS  recipe is the first one that is so dang delicious I can’t wait to get out of bed and eat breakfast! Dirty Detox Chai Bowls

This Iced Dirty Chai Latte is perfect for mornings when you're craving a chai latte with a little bit more caffeine kick. A "dirty chai" means chai latte with a shot of espresso added. 

Iced Dirty Chai Latte

water

cardamom pods

fennel seeds

coriander seeds

black peppercorns

ginger

tbsp vanilla extract

chai tea bags

chai concentrate

milk (almond or oat milk are great options)

espresso

Cinnamon powder (optional for garnish)

Add all the ingredients except the tea bags and vanilla extract into a medium saucepan. 

Stir to mix the maple syrup and water and bring to a soft boil. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Take it off the heat and add the vanilla extract and tea bags. Let them steep for about 5 minutes.

You can strain the concentrate immediately or take the teabags out and let the spices sit in it for 10 more minutes while it cools to enhance the flavors. Strain into a glass jar and store in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Chai concentrate:

Fill up a tall glass with ice, add equal parts of chai concentrate and milk (½ cup each or more depending on the size of your drink). I like to froth the milk but that’s optional. Add maple syrup if desired. 

Brew 1-2 shots of espresso and pour it over the milk and chai.

Dust with cinnamon if desired and serve with a straw. Enjoy!

I love a dirty chai! When I first worked in a coffee shop, I thought all chai drinks had coffee in so a few customers had a bit extra energy those days!!

I love chai in any form. This is going to be perfect for sipping on the patio. Better than takeout from Starbucks.

This delicious and easy-to-make homemade chai syrup tastes amazing as a chai latte or as an addition to your coffee.

Homemade Chai Syrup

g brown sugar

g white sugar

vanilla bean, vanilla bean paste)

chai spice mix

Combine the water, brown sugar, white sugar and vanilla bean in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often.

Add the chai spice mix and continue simmering for another 8 minutes.

Remove the vanilla bean pods and strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer. 

Fill into clean glass bottles, let them cool completely and then store in the fridge.

Dirty Chai Latte Recipe

Chai tea bags

sugar to taste (start with 1 teaspoon sugar)

milk

Brew tea. Pour boiling water over the tea bags in a mug and let steep for 4-5 minutes, then remove the tea bags.

Meanwhile, steam milk and prepare espresso. (I like to brew the espresso right over the sugar to help it dissolve; otherwise, stir sugar into tea.)

Pour espresso into a mug and stir to dissolve any sugar.

Pour steamed milk into the mug and top with a thin layer of foam.

Dirty Chai Latte

The cake I would make if my birthday was in October, this Dirty Chai Tiramisu Chocolate Cake is full of flavor, fluffy, and not too sweet.

Dirty Chai Tiramisu Chocolate Cake

all purpose flour

granulated sugar

cocoa powder (dutch processed or natural)

baking soda

baking powder

fine sea salt

salted butter (soft)

sour cream

egg (standard large, room temperature)

egg yolks (standard large eggs)

fine sea salt ((more

vanilla extract

vanilla bean paste

mascarpone

cardamom

heavy whipping cream (cold)

lady fingers

cocoa powder

Preheat the oven to 350 F and place a rack in the center of the oven.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, add in the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda, and cocoa powder. Whisk to combine.

Add in the egg, butter, sour cream, vanilla, and espresso. Beat with a mixer until just smooth.

Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl.

Spray the bottom 7&quot; metal cake pan with your baking spray and then pour in the chocolate batter.

Smooth out the cake with a rubber spatula.

Bake in the hot oven for 12 minutes. After 12 minutes, rotate the cake 180 degrees and bake for another 8-10 minutes until the center is set and a toothpick comes out clean.

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and leave it to cool for 15 minutes before removing from the cake pan. Remove the cake and leave it to cool completely on a cooling rack.

Chocolate Cake

In a medium sauce pot add in the water, sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and tea bags. Place over medium low heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Turn off the heat and let steep for another 5 minutes.

Pour the soak through a fine mesh sieve into a shallow dish. Add in the espresso and allow it to cool to room temperature.

Dirty Chai Soak

In a large mixing bowl, whip together the egg yolks, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Whip on high until pale and thick. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl.

Then add in the mascarpone and cardamom, and whip again until smooth.

Pour in the cold heavy cream and whip until stiff peaks form.

Mascarpone Tiramisu Cream

Use a large serrated knife to level off the top of the cake. Use a toothpick to poke extra holes into the top of the cake especially on the edges.

Lay a piece of parchment paper on a flat tray or plate that will fit the cake and fit in your fridge.

Place the chocolate cake layer on the parchment and then place the cake ring and if you have it the acetate ring around the cake. Tighten until snug around the cake.

Use a ladle or a measuring cup with a spout to soak the cake with 100 grams of the soak.

Add about 1 cup of the tiramisu cream over the cake and smooth out with the back of a spoon.

Soak one lady finger at a time for 3 seconds on each side and cover the layer of cream with them. For a 7&quot; cake I used 6 lady fingers. Feel free to break one or two to fit them.

Repeat with another cup of the cream, and another layer of soaked lady fingers, followed by one more layer of cream.

Smooth out the top and cover the surface with a sheet of plastic wrap. Place it in the fridge to set overnight or at least 8 hours.

Assemble

Just before serving, remove the cake collar and unwrap the acetate ring.

Dust the top of the cake with cocoa powder.

Use a thin sharp knife to cut the cake into 8 slices. Serve immediately, store any leftovers in the fridge.

Loved this recipe! Made it for my 30th birthday party and everyone enjoyed it. I didn't have a 7" tin so used a 6" without adjusting the batter and it worked fine. The cake recipe itself is incredible, maybe the best chocolate cake I've made - the espresso in it is so good!
