These grilled shrimp skewers are quick, easy, and totally healthy. The sauce here doubles as a marinade and a glaze—don't forget to reserve some for basting the shrimp while it's on the grill! 

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

c. extra-virgin olive oil

c. lime juice

garlic cloves,

tbsp. honey

tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce

tbsp. chili garlic sauce

lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined

Do you use an outdoor grill or a grill pan?

Excellent marinade.... although I substituted the chili garlic sauce or Sriracha, and used crush red chili flakes instead.

This was delicious! I added a little more Sriracha for more spice and marinated in the full batch for 15 minutes.  Used as baste and then heated remainder to broil and used the cooked marinade as a dip.  I served in a bowl alongside the Delish ramen noodle recipe and it was divine. Easy last minute marinade which is what I look for when I’m in a hurry. No more!  This is my go to!  
I used less honey because it wouldn’t spill out of the container and doubled the chili sauce.

Not a whole lot of taste. Next time I would double the chilli sauce and add a little melted butter to the reserved sauce for basting.

I used this marinade this weekend.  I skewered shrimp, red and green bell peppers, and pineapple.  Everyone loved them!  This will be a staple marinade for me!

I made this tonight and marinated the shrimp longer than 15 minutes and they were fine. And I cooked them in a skillet instead of on grill and they were excellent!  Highly recommend this marinade!

This Sweet & Spicy Grilled Shrimp Is The Perfect Quick Dinner

Easy Grilled Shrimp

extra virgin olive oil

balsamic vinegar

tomato paste

Dijon mustard

sesame oil

celery salt

black pepper

brown sugar

paprika

dry oregano

cayenne pepper,

Peel the shell from the shrimp but leave the tail portion on. The easiest way is to hold the shrimp with the split facing you and with your two thumbs, pull down to peel the shell open, then turn and tear around the tail piece so that it stays intact and discard the shell. The tail acts as a handle for guests to hold while eating.

Place all of the cleaned shrimp in a gallon zip lock bag.

In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, vinegar, tomato paste, mustard, sesame oil, celery salt, pepper, brown sugar, paprika, oregano and cayenne pepper with a whisk.

Pour into the bag with the shrimp, massage it all over each piece, and marinate refrigerated for at least two hours and up to four hours.

When ready to grill, heat the grill to medium high. Clean and oil grill grates liberally with the vegetable oil. I find it easiest to wad up a paper towel and dip it in a little bowl of oil and with a long pair of tongs, grab the oiled paper towel and slather on the grill grates.

Pour the shrimp out of the bag onto a plate and immediately lay out on the oiled grill one at a time, leaving the marinade on. These shrimps are large enough that you don’t need skewers.

Grill for only a minute or two on each side. The shrimp will turn slightly pink and will no longer be opaque. If you poke one, it should be firm and not bounce back. (Do not over cook the shrimp or they will be tough.)

Remove to a clean plate and serve as-is or with rice.

Grilled Salt &amp; Chili Shrimp (Tôm Nướng Muối Ớt)

35 large shell-on-tail-on prawns/shrimp

skewers

annatto oil

lemongrass

garlic

shallot

oyster sauce

sugar

chili peppers

MSG (optional)

Salt and lime dipping sauce

Skewer the shrimp

Insert the skewer, starting at the tail then through the head.

Mix ingredients and marinate

Combine annatto oil, sesame oil, lemongrass, garlic, shallot, oyster sauce, sugar, chili peppers (optional) and MSG (optional) in a small bowl. Mix until combined. Brush marinade on shrimp skewers and set them aside to marinate for at least one hour or overnight in the fridge for better results.

Grill

Over high heat, grill shrimp for about one minute per side or until lightly charred. Place on a serving platter and serve with optional dipping sauce.
