There&#8217;s more than one way to use gnocchi – this easy recipe combines comforting gnocchi with salmon, cream cheese, chilli and lemon.

Salmon gnocchi bake

packet fresh gnocchi

butter

washed,

packet soft cream cheese

tomato purée

½-1 tsp dried chilli flakes, to taste

lemon

Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan180°C/gas 6. Bring a pan of lightly salted water to the boil. Add the gnocchi and cook for 2-3 minutes, until cooked. (The gnocchi will float to the surface when they are ready.) Drain and reserve 250ml of the cooking water. Set aside.

Melt the butter in a wide, deep frying pan and gently fry the leek for 3-4 minutes, until soft. Stir in the cream cheese, tomato purée, chilli flakes, lemon zest, parsley and reserved water, until the cheese has melted and everything is combined. Adjust the seasoning.

Add the gnocchi and salmon to the frying pan and stir to coat. Spoon into a deep 1.2-litre ovenproof dish and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden on top. Serve immediately.

Despite the fact that the directions neglect to say that the remaining mozzarella should go on top of the casserole (which is shown in the video) and that the video doesn't mention putting the romano in the sauce (which is in the directions), says to use milk instead of the half and half listed in the ingredients and gives conflicting instructions about putting everything in the baking dish, this turned out well, and I'll be making it again. By reading the directions, watching the video and consulting the comments I managed to figure it all out!

This is the best ziti I’ve ever made. I’ve made it 3 times and everyone’s  always looking for more.

My family was obsessed with this before the sauce even mixed with the pasta! 10/10 recommend.

I just made this using my own homemade marinara sauce and I can definitely say that it tasted better than Olive Gardens recipe...or so the people eating said. It was delicious!!!

This 5-Cheese Ziti Al Forno Tastes JUST Like Olive Garden's

This one-dish pesto chicken pasta bake is so flavorful and easy to pull together that you may never go back to making pasta on the stove again!

Pesto Pasta Bake

penne pasta

pesto

chicken broth

lemon juice

mozzarella pearls (mini)

chicken breast (cubed)

sun-dried tomatoes (in olive oil, drained)

garlic

salt

pepper

Preheat the oven to 400℉.

Cube your chicken into 1” pieces and season with the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

To a 9x13 casserole dish, add the pasta, pesto, chicken broth, and lemon juice. Stir to combine, then add the chicken and sun dried tomatoes and give the ingredients one more stir to ensure everything is well incorporated. Finish it off by placing the mozzarella pearls evenly throughout the dish.

Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.

Remove the foil carefully, the steam will be hot! Serve and enjoy!

Cheesy Leek & Pancetta Pasta Bake

Leeks

Parsley

Garlic Clove

Panko Breadcrumbs

Smoked Pancetta

Arla Lactofree Mature Cheddar Cheese

Cut the leeks into rounds, finely chop the parsley and finely grate the garlic clove.

Combine the breadcrumbs, parsley and garlic in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and a glug of oil. Stir vigorously to distribute the oil and garlic.

Add the pancetta to a saucepan with a glug of oil, cook over a medium heat for 5 mins until the fat has started to render and the pancetta is starting to crisp.

Remove from the pan and add the leeks, sweat with a pinch of salt for 5 mins until soft but still bright green. Remove from the pan.

Now, add 50ml of olive oil and the flour to the pan. Cook out for 2 mins then slowly add the Arla Lactofree Milk, whisking constantly. Bring to a boil then lower the heat.

Coarsely grate the Arla Lactofree Mature Cheddar Cheese and whisk into the sauce.

Season with salt, pepper and freshly grated nutmeg.

Cook your pasta for 8 mins until just al dente. Drain, reserving a mugful of pasta water. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, sweated leeks and pancetta and stir together, adding pasta water until you have a loose sauce.

Pour the lot into a baking dish and top with the garlicky breadcrumbs.

Bang it in the oven for 30 mins until golden and bubbling.

Don’t be modishly alarmed by the double-carb combo: it can be an alcohol-sopping salve, much appreciated at this time of year. Besides, it is important to remember that the original predates central heating.

250 grams/9 ounces baking potato, peeled and cut in 2-3cm dice

100 grams/3½oz ricotta

penne pasta, (about 3 cups)

milk

unsalted butter

all-purpose flour

nutmeg

salt and black pepper, (to taste)

heavy cream

Parmesan cheese, (divided)

shredded Swiss cheese, (divided)

ground nutmeg

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish and set aside.

Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente, or slightly underdone. Drain and set aside.

While pasta is cooking, heat milk in a small saucepan over low heat to warm, but do not let it simmer.

In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and stir for 1–2 minutes, until mixture is golden. Slowly whisk in warm milk. Add nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Cook, whisking often, until thickened, about 10 minutes, then remove from the heat.

Add cream, ½ cup shredded Parmesan, and ½ cup Swiss cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.

Combine pasta with cheese sauce and pour into the prepared pan. Top with remaining ½ cup shredded Parmesan, ½ cup Swiss cheese and the grated Parmesan. Cover with aluminium foil and bake for 10-15 minutes.

Remove foil and continue baking until cheese is golden brown, about 5 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 5-10 minutes before serving.

Love this recipe! I added shredded rotisserie chicken and cooked bacon cut into pieces as per suggestions and it was absolutely delicious! Just served it with a side salad and had a delicious dinner in no time!

My kids love your "homemade mac and cheese" recipe so I had high hoped they'd love this one too. My 3 daughters loved it. I found that if you reheat it on the stovetop and add a bit more milk, it becomes creamy again.

Creamy Slow Cooker Baked Ziti Recipe with Golden Cheese Crust

dry ziti pasta

whole milk ricotta cheese

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add finely chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and Italian seasoning; cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and heavy cream. Stir until smooth and creamy. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Add dry ziti pasta, marinara sauce, sautéed onions and garlic into the slow cooker. Stir well to coat the pasta evenly. Dollop the cheese mixture on top but don’t stir it in completely.

Cover and cook on low for 2.5 to 3 hours until pasta is tender but not mushy. Check at around 2 hours and stir gently once or twice to prevent sticking.

Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella evenly over the top. Cover and cook on high for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts and starts to turn golden. For a crisper crust, transfer the slow cooker insert to the oven under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, watching closely.

Let the baked ziti sit for 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
