We love sushi but it can get pricy! So we learned to make it at home. These vegan sushi recipes will have you making this awesome treat quickly and easily!

Homemade Vegan Sushi Recipes

Seaweed/Nori sheets cucumber

sushi rice ((see note))

rice vinegar

sugar

sea salt

Shitake mushrooms

Tamari (soy sauce

potato

avocado

cucumber (matchstick style)

carrot (matchstick style)

green onion (matchstick style)

Tamari (soy sauce for non gluten-free)

pickled ginger

Creamy Peanut Sauce

Mix vinegar, sugar and salt in a bowl and heat on the stove or the microwave until the sugar is dissolved.

Add the mixture to the cooked rice and mix well.

Make the marinated sweet potato and mushrooms by pouring the tamari over them and allowing them to marinate a bit while you prep the rest of the roll ingredients.

Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes until crisping on edges. You can also saute them in a pan until crisp and cooked through.

Build by spreading 1 cup of rice onto nori sheet.

On one end lay filling ingredients of choice in a thin line. You want between 2-4 pieces of each filling ingredient. Don’t use more than 4 or 5 fillings ingredients or it will get too big to roll.

Tightly roll and cut. Serve with dipping sauces like Tamari (soy sauce for non gluten-free)

This is the EASIEST way to make sushi at home! All you need to make Temaki Sushi (aka &quot;hand-rolled&quot; sushi), is yakinori seaweed, sushi rice and your favourite fillings. Wrap them up into a roll or cone shape and you are done! 

Temaki Sushi - Easy Hand-Rolled Sushi

sushi rice (cooked)

tbsp sushi vinegar

nori sheets (per person, sliced in half)

tuna

mayonnaise

carrot (finely sliced)

cucumber

soy sauce

Transfer cooked sushi rice to a wide, flat-bottomed pan or dish.

Pour the sushi vinegar over the cooked rice and mix gently with a flat rice paddle so as not to break any of the grains. Allow the rice to cool completely before serving.

Next, place your tuna in a small bowl and top with kewpie mayo. Mix until well combined, adding more mayo if needed until you have a smooth texture and delicious flavour.

Take up a sheet of nori (remember to slice or break it in half first) and place it in your hand or on a plate. Top with a scoop of rice in the top left corner in a rough, triangular shape.

Layer up with your chosen fillings such as the tuna/kewpie blend, carrot and cucumber, then fold up the bottom left corner and roll into a cone shape. If you&#039;re unsure how to do this, check out our video.

The EASIEST Hand Rolled Sushi - Temaki Sushi -  [5 Minute Prep!]

I&#039;m obsessed with this spicy salmon sushi pizza made with spicy mayo, sushi- grade salmon, avocado, scallions, and jalapeño on a tortilla crust.

Spicy Salmon Sushi Pizza

6 inch tortillas (gluten-free

avocado (from 1/2 small haas)

kosher salt

salmon

sriracha

scallions

sesame oil

soy sauce or gluten-free tamari

black and white sesame seeds

jalapeño

The avocado (Persea americana) is a tree that is native to South Central Mexico, classified as a member of the flowering plant family Lauraceae. Avocado (also alligator pear) also refers to the tree's fruit, which is botanically a large berry containing a single seed.

tortilla

In a medium bowl combine salmon, mayo, sriracha, half the scallions, sesame oil and soy sauce.

Mash together the avocado and a pinch of salt.

Place the tortilla in the air fryer, and air fryer 400F 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on each side, until crisp. (I place a rack on top so it doesn’t blow around). Repeat with the second.

To do this in the oven, bake in a 425F preheated oven on a sheet pan 5-6 minutes, flipping halfway.

Place the tortilla on a cutting board, top with half of the mashed avocado. Divide the salmon and spread on top.

Lay on sliced jalapeño, remaining scallions and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Drizzle with more soy sauce or sriracha, if desired. (Or use spicy mayo)

This was awesome - I did reduce calories/points by using a carb free tortilla and light helmanns.  Will definitely make again!

This was FANTASTIC. It was super quick to make, with not too many ingredients. Spicy and crunchy from the tortilla…perfection! I did my tortillas in the oven using the air fryer function at 425. Done in about 4 minutes, flipping after 3. I suggest cutting this on the board rather than in your plate
