Pan seared marinated shrimp paired with a fresh mango salsa, avocado, and crema! These might just be the perfect seafood taco!

Shrimp Taco

key west shrimp (medium)

mango (diced)

jalapeno (seeded, diced)

tomatoes (small, diced)

limes

sour cream (45 grams)

purple cabbage

garlic (minced)

chili powder

coriander

tsp kosher salt (6 grams)

avocado (sliced)

corn tortillas (medium)

Dice tomatoes, mango and a medium jalapeno pepper into small cubes. Add everything to medium bowl.

Squeeze the juice from ½ a lime into the bowl. Sprinkle a little bit of salt.

In another medium bowl, add sour cream and the other ½ juice from the lime. Give it a mix.

Chop the cabbage into slices.

Deshell and devein the shrimp. Pat them dry. Add to a bowl. Zest a lime.

Sprinkle the shrimp with chili powder. Add a squeeze of lime juice, minced garlic, pinch of salt, splash of olive oil, lime zest, and a few dashes of coriander. Give everything a toss. Let the shrimp marinate for about an hour.&nbsp;

In a medium pan, add a dollop of butter, the shrimp and the marinade. Cook over medium- high heat for about 7-10 minutes. Flip and cook until they are golden . Take off the heat and set to the side.&nbsp;

Peel and slice an avocado. Slice into slivers.&nbsp;

Heat the tortillas up on the flame of the stove or in a pan.&nbsp;

Assemble all of the taco ingredients. Drizzle sour cream mixture and add on the salsa.

Grilled Fish Tacos with Cilantro Lime Cabbage Slaw

4-6 inch flour tortillas

½ teaspoon chili powder

cumin

garlic

salt

sugar (optional)

chipotle powder (or sub cayenne and

for more smoky flavor, add ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

cabbage

salt,

¼ cup thinly sliced red onion, more to taste

cilantro (packed), ½ of a large bunch

¼ -½ of a jalapeño, finely chopped, more to taste

lime

olive oil

Preheat grill to medium-high heat. (See notes for oven or stovetop version)

Prep the fish

Rinse and pat dry fish. ( For tofu, read notes below) In a small bowl, stir fish rub spices together. Sprinkle all sides of fish lightly with the spice rub (you most likely will not need all). Set aside.

Make the slaw

Place the shredded cabbage in a medium bowl. Toss with the salt. Add the onions, cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice, olive oil and toss well. Adjust lime, salt, and jalapeño, adding more to taste&#8211; you want this to taste tangy and flavorful.

Sauce

Make any accompanying sauce. Chipotle Mayo is nice here- feel free to do this ahead.

Grill

Grease the grill well before placing fish on it. Turn heat to medium. Grill each side a few minutes, letting grill marks develop and use a metal spatula to flip. Cook until the desired doneness and squeeze with a little lime juice.

Then quickly grill the tortillas on the grill, brushing with olive oil if you prefer.

Assemble Tacos

 Place fish in the warm tortillas, top with cabbage slaw and and garnishes. Drizzle with the optional ( but delicious)  Chipotle Mayo if you like.

We have made this recipe several times and are in love! My three boys ask for this specific recipe when we are meal planning. It is definitely one of our favorites! Thank you for a delicious meal! We make it with salmon, slaw, the chipotle mayo sauce, and a tomatillo salsa. We have also made the Peruvian green sauce which is also SO good.

We made this last night with tilapia, and cooked it on an indoor grill pan.  It was great!  Wonderful taste combination, and very simple to put together.  We subscribed right away!

Made these tonight with mahi and they were delicious! Followed the recipe exactly except I used yellow onion instead of red and only purple cabbage no green, we did use the optional chipotle Mayo. This is a keeper!

Had this last night we all loved it! Real hit!

This slaw is so easy and delicious! I use lots of spice in seasoning and chipotle Mayo so don’t even bother with the jalapeño.

Drain excess fat.

Add onions and peppers, and cook until browned.

Add canned tomatoes, taco seasoning, and any water...

Add greens and let fully wilt.

Mix well.

Cover with shredded cheese and let cheese melt.

These carne asada tacos come together easily as a hearty dinner or lunch for 4. The orange juice and lemon juice fill the marinade with flavor. In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, vinegar, lime juice, orange juice, garlic, jalapeño, chopped cilantro, salt, coriander, cumin, pepper, and chili powder.

Place the steak in a gallon-size resealable bag. Pour in 1 cup (240 ml) of the marinade and set the rest aside. Seal the bag and shake to evenly coat the steak in the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours.

In a small saucepan, bring the reserved ½ cup (120 ml) of marinade to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook until thickened and reduced by half, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Heat a large grill pan over high heat until very hot. Remove the steak from the bag and discard the marinade. Cook the steak on 1 side until there are dark grill marks and it is beginning to caramelize around the edges, about 6 minutes. Flip and cook on the other side for 5 minutes for medium rare, or 7 minutes for medium. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes.

Working in batches, heat the corn tortillas in a pan over medium-high heat, turning with tongs, until softened and just beginning to brown in spots, about 1 minute per side. Wrap the toasted tortillas in foil to keep warm.

Thinly slice the steak against the grain, then cut the slices in half. Transfer to a large bowl and toss with the reduced marinade to coat.

Serve the steak with the warm tortillas, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, cotija cheese, and cilantro leaves, if desired.
