Tried this and it's as good as it sounds! Love the amount of onion as well. It's a well seasoned recipe for otherwise mild turkey. Didn't have plain breadcrumbs but had Italian seasoned which added even more zing.

when i first made this the other night i was going to say RUN, do not walk, AWAY from this recipe!  my meatballs were super moist and falling apart in the pan, and there was hardly any juice left over to go with the dish.  and i tested a meatball before it simmered and it was flavorless. i have to say when we sat down to eat it, it was rather tasty. firstly, prep time is way longer than 10 min.  it takes 5 minutes alone to cut the chives.  and i don't know who has a pan that fits 25-27 meatballs.  i had to do mine in batches of 7. make your meatballs while your squash roasts. next time i make this i will use ground turkey that has more fat in it and that solves the falling apart aspect.  i found the amount of onion to be fine but might skip adding the milk.  and i would definitely add more chicken stock and try to make more of a sauce with it.

These are delicious. I had the idea of adding a few tablespoons of heavy cream and mushrooms to the broth after the meatballs are done. Which cooks down into an amazing sauce/gravy.

Made these meatballs twice already and I love them. Not sure how healthy they are since you use butter and Parmesan, but it beats regular spaghetti and meatballs. Someone mentioned they didn’t hold together, not sure why.. I followed the recipe exactly and they came out amazing.

This is an amazing recipe. I added a little more chicken broth then made a gravy to put over them and served with mushrooms and asparagus. Added thyme and rosemary left out the cheese.

Garlic Butter Turkey Meatballs Will Save You From Your Dinner Rut

Sicilian turkey meatballs with spaghetti is a cheap and easy way to use up turkey mincemeat.

Sicilian turkey meatballs and pasta

turkey mince

breadcrumbs

sultanas or raisins

garlic clove, crushed

lemon

dried chilli flakes

milliliters chicken stock,

dried spaghetti

Combine the turkey in a bowl with the breadcrumbs, dried fruit, garlic, lemon zest, chilli, half the parsley and plenty of seasoning. Form into about 20 small meatballs.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan and add the meatballs. Cook for about 4 minutes, turning frequently, until golden. Add the stock and turn up the heat. Simmer briskly for 5 minutes, until the stock is reduced by half. Turn off the heat.

Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to the pack instructions. Drain the pasta and add to the frying pan with the remaining parsley. Season, toss well and serve.

While the classic presentation is to serve homemade turkey meatballs on a bed of freshly cooked spaghetti, you can also serve them next to steamed veggies, accompanied by white or brown rice or as the filling of a hearty meatball sandwich. Basically, there's no wrong way to eat these delicious meatballs!

Progresso™ Italian style bread crumbs

Parmesan cheese

Italian seasoning

egg, beaten

Heat oven to 375°F. Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray.

In large bowl, mix turkey, bread crumbs, cheese, onion powder, garlic salt and Italian seasoning. Add milk and egg; mix until just combined.

Shape mixture into 15 balls of slightly less than 1/4 cup each. Place on cookie sheet.

Bake 16 to 20 minutes or until thermometer inserted in center of meatballs reads at least 165°F. Serve with pasta and marinara sauce, or use in your favorite meatball dinner.

Preheat

Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and coat with nonstick spray.

Stir

In a large mixing bowl, add the cheese, bread crumbs, herbs, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, pepper, and red pepper flakes and stir well to combine. Add the turkey.

Beat

In a small bowl, beat the egg, then add it to the meat mixture. With a fork or your fingers, mix just until combined, being careful not to compact the meat.

Shape

With a scoop or spoon, scoop the meat and shape into 1 1/2-inch meatballs. Arrange on the prepared baking sheet. You will have about 20 meatballs total.

Brush

Brush the tops of the meatballs with the olive oil.

Bake

Bake for 15 minutes, or until the meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165°F on an instant-read thermometer. As an alternate way to check, a meatball in the center of the baking sheet should be fully cooked through when cut in half.

Warm

While the meatballs cook, warm the sauce and any other items you’d like to serve them with (pasta, hoagie buns, rice, etc.). Serve the meatballs hot, topped with the sauce, cheese, herbs, and any other additions.

This is a regular in iur meal rotation. East to make and simple ingredients. I just fry/sear them in a little olive oil and turn them until browned! Making them again!!

This was so tasty I felt compelled to leave a review. Even my picky toddler ate some! Husband went back for seconds, or was it thirds? Made exactly 20 meatballs. Despite the simple ingredients they were so tasty! I used fresh basil and parsley and decided to be a little generous with the seasonings. Of course the timing of things is not quite right because it takes forever to prep herbs. Served with pasta, tomato basil raos and a kale Caesar salad. Yum!!!
