Classic Waffle Recipe

flour

baking powder

salt

sugar

eggs

light oil, such as canola or vegetable

applesauce

milk (I normally use 2%)

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar, and stir to combine.

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, and add the eggs, oil, applesauce, and milk.

Whisk all ingredients together until a thin and slightly lumpy batter forms.

Pour the batter into your waffle iron according to manufacturers directions.

When the waffle is done cooking, carefully place it on a wire rack to cool, taking care not to stack the waffles on top of each other. Repeat with remaining batter.

Serve waffles hot with your favorite topping, such as buttermilk syrup, strawberries, and whipped cream.

Simple & Easy Waffle Recipe

Preheat a waffle maker to high heat. Set the oven on 200 degrees F. Set a baking sheet, with a rack on it, in the oven to hold and warm the waffles.

Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk well.

Then mix in the milk, eggs, melted butter and vanilla. Stir until the mixture is very smooth.

Once the waffle maker is very hot, add approximately ½ cup batter (for a large Belgium-style waffle) and cook for 3 ½ minutes undisturbed.

Open and remove the waffle when the exterior is golden-brown. Move the waffle to the warm oven and repeat with the remaining batter.

Once all the waffles are cooked, let them rest in the oven for another 5 minutes to continue to dry and crisp.

½ Cup Rolled Oats

Large Whole Egg

Large Egg White

Greek Yogurt (or Cottage Cheese)

Scoop Protein Powder (Your Choice Flavor)

½ Teaspoon Baking Powder

½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract (*Optional)

Blend or process all of your ingredients together until smooth

Turn your waffle maker on and coat it with some non-stick cooking spray

Pour your mix in and cook your waffle until your waffle maker says it&#39;s ready (2-3 minutes)

Remove your waffle and repeat

These waffles are my 9 year old sons favorite. He gobbles the whole batch up all by himself!

If I wanted to use whole eggs would I use 1 or 2 for the basic mixture? I only ask as I tried a basic waffle recipe and it came out very “eggy” tasting.
