A fun holiday baking project - make snowmen out of Nutter Butter cookies and a few other ingredients!

Nutter Butter Snowmen

Nutter Butter cookies

White candy melts (vanilla flavored)

M&M candies

Orange Tic-Tacs (cut in half)

Black decorator icing

Line a baking sheet with wax paper; set aside.

In a small to medium bowl, melt the white candy melts according to the package instructions.

Working one at a time, dip a Nutter Butter cookie into the melted coating and flip it over to coat completely (a fork is great for this). Remove and let any excess drip off then place on the wax paper-lined baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining Nutter Butter cookies. Place the baking sheet into the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so the coating can set.

Attach a small decorating tip (I used a #2) to a pastry bag and fill with black icing (I just used Wilton decorating icing to make it easy). Dab a small amount on one side of an M&amp;M and place on the coated cookie. Repeat with another just below to make the two "buttons".

Dab another small amount on the bottom of half of a Tic Tac and affix to the center of the top of the cookie for the nose. Again, repeat.

Now squeeze out small dots for the eyes and the mouth. Ta-Da! Snowmen!

This simple Christmas gravy can be made a few days ahead or you can freeze it for up to a month

Proper Turkey Gravy

onions

1.3l turkey or chicken stock

tbsp plain flour

tbsp white wineor water

Proper turkey gravy

Put the onions and carrot in a large pan with the turkey neck (optional). Pour in stock and simmer for 1 hr. Strain to remove the vegetables and turkey, then return the liquid to the pan. (For a textured gravy, remove the turkey and, using a stick blender, blitz carrot and onion into the stock until very smooth.)

Blend the flour with the white wine or water, then blend this into the stock, stirring over the heat until thickened. Cool, then chill. Will keep for several days or freeze for 1 month. Thaw in the fridge a day ahead. Heat in a pan until piping hot, then add the juices from the turkey and season to taste.

A delicious sweet and salty treat for the holidays. You can substitute white candy melts for the white chocolate and shortening.

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper; set aside.

In a very large bowl, mix together the Rice Chex, Cheerios, peanuts, pretzels and M&amp;Ms.

In a medium bowl, melt the white chocolate and shortening in the microwave on 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds, until completely melted.

Pour the melted chocolate over the dry ingredients and quickly toss together until everything is pretty evenly coated in the white chocolate. Spread the mixture out on the prepared pan and refrigerate until it's set, about 20 minutes. Break up any chunks and store in tins or airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.

These rolls are super moist, buttery, sweet, gooey and all things incredible. I really could not think of a better family holiday breakfast.

1. Place the yeast and brown sugar into a stand mixer with the dough hook attached. Add the warm milk and gently stir. Let sit until it is puffed and foamy on top, about 10 minutes. To the bowl add the melted butter, egg, and molasses, stir to combine. Add in the flour and salt. Knead the dough with the dough hook until the dough is smooth and forms a ball, about 5 minutes. Remove the dough from the bowl. Oil the bowl or use cooking spray to coat. Place the dough back into the bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let the dough rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.2. Make the filling. Add the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg to a new bowl and mix well.3. Generously grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or a dish slightly smaller with butter.4. Lightly dust a surface with flour. Roll the dough into a rectangle (about 9×24 inches). Spread the butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the cinnamon/ginger sugar evenly over the butter and lightly push the mix into the butter. Starting with the long edge closest to you, carefully roll the dough into a log, keeping it fairly tight as you go. When you reach the edge, pinch along the edge to seal. Using a sharp knife, cut into 10-12 rolls. Place rolls in the prepared baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap and transfer to the fridge to rise overnight.&nbsp;5. In the morning, remove the rolls from the fridge and allow them to come to room temp while the oven preheats, about 30-45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350. Bake the rolls for 25 minutes or until golden brown.6. In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add the powdered sugar and beat until combined. Beat in vanilla. Spread the frosting on warm rolls. EAT!

Eat these family-friendly sausage rolls with a chutney or pickle. They make a great snack for a party buffet

<a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/test-best-rolling-pins">Roll out</a> the pastry to a 35 x 30cm rectangle on a surface lightly dusted with flour. Trim the edges neatly, then cut in half lengthways to form two long strips. Spread with a thin layer of the apple sauce, pickle or chutney, leaving a border along the edges.

Tip the sausagemeat into a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/top-five-mixing-bowls">large bowl</a>, add 3 tbsp cold water and squash together. Divide the mixture in two and mould each half into a cylindrical shape. Put each portion of meat into the middle of a pastry strip, leaving a border at either side. Brush the pastry border and the top of the sausage mix with the beaten egg. Fold one edge of the pastry over the meat and roll to encase, then use a fork to press the pastry edges together. Cut the sausage rolls into 5cm lengths and arrange on a lined baking tray. Chill for 20 mins. Can be made a day ahead or frozen for up to one month; to bake from frozen, add an extra 10 mins to the cooking time.

Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Brush the sausage rolls with the rest of the beaten egg and sprinkle with the sesame seeds or nigella seeds (if using). Bake for 30-35 mins until the pastry is deep golden. Transfer the sausage rolls to a wire rack and leave to cool for 10 mins.

Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6 and line a baking tray with foil. Mix honey and both of the mustards in a bowl. You can make the glaze 2-3 days ahead.

Add the sausages and toss well to coat them. Arrange the sausages, spaced apart, on the baking tray. Smooth any remaining glaze left in the bowl on top of the sausages to make them extra sticky. Bake for 20 mins until golden.

A toasted cheese sandwich that is anything but ordinary – oozing with camembert and topped with cranberry sauce to give it a Christmas kick

Butter the bread. Put a wedge of camembert or brie on the unbuttered side of one slice of bread. Top with a spoonful of cranberry sauce. Drizzle with a few drops of balsamic vinegar, if you have some.

Put the second slice of bread on top, buttered side out. Fry in a hot non-stick pan, pressing down with a fish slice, for a minute or two on each side, until golden brown and melting. Cut in half and eat straightaway.
