Awesomely Easy Swiss Fondue

Whisk 1/2 cup of the white wine with the cornstarch.

Run the cheese through a food processor or chop very, very finely to get small, even pieces.

Rub the garlic clove all over the bottom and sides of a heavy-bottomed pot (this avoids garlic chunks in your smooth fondue). Discard the garlic. Heat the wine mixture over medium low heat, until thickening and bubbling. Add a tablespoon of wine if it seems too thick &#8211; you want it to resemble a smooth gravy.

Add some of the cheese and slowly whisk. It should start to gently melt after just a few whisks around in the wine. When it&#8217;s almost completely smooth and incorporated, add more cheese and whisk gently. If it seems too tight or elasticy, add 1 tablespoon wine. Repeat this process until all cheese is melted. Consistency should be a smooth, loose sauce that has just a *little* bit of elastic stretch to it. You should be able to dip something in it and have the cheese stick to your dipper.

Season with salt and face plant immediately! I mean, serve immediately. As it cools, the cheese will want to clump together but if you keep it at a nice, low, even heat, it should stay dippable for ya.

I do see that this post is sponsored, so I completely understand the cheese choice - however, if you want to experience more authentic fondue, I would highly suggest (if you can find them) a 50/50 mix of Emmentaler and Gruyere. Unfortunately, this recipe uses white wine. I do not like wine.

Two things to make life easier when making Fondue. For stubborn stoves that won't turn to the low you want. Use a double boiler. The water needs to be simmering hot. Also use garlic oil to grease the pan. Remove double boiler to a place to share, and set it on a thick heat pad. The water will keep it warm. Most fondue pots come with some method of keeping the fondue warm, an electric pot is best. You can also use a slow cooker on low to make the fondue. Make sure all ingredients are room temperature before making, it makes it less likely to seize up as you first attempt did. If your over has a Low heat(above warm) you may be able to use it to melt your fondue. When making fondue. Stir with an egg whisk or a smaller chef's whisk, to help it stay smooth. If you want to be fancy, say for Valentine's Day, test out the various types of Swiss cheese available in your local deli. Add a bit of nutmeg for a nutty taste, or smoke flavoring. You can make fondue with any Cheddar too. Many people like to use day old French Bread too. It is firmer and easier for the fork to hang on too.

Melting Pot Cheddar Cheese Fondue Recipe

Coors Light beer

garlic

dry mustard powder

Worcestershire sauce

cheddar cheese

Emmentaler Swiss cheese

cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)

Shred the cheeses or slice into small cubes. Coat the cheese with cornstarch.

Preparing the cheese

Turn on the fondue pot to high heat.

Place beer, garlic, dry mustard, and Worcestershire in the pot and combine well.

When the beer mixture is warm, add one-third of the cheese and whisk very well.

Once the cheese has been incorporated well, continue to whisk in the cheese until it is all incorporated. Whisk until the cheese is smooth.

Hi. This is Stephanie Manley, with CopyKat.com. Today, it's time to whip
out those old fondue pots because we're making Melting Pot Cheddar Cheese
Fondue. Let's get started.

We're going to begin making our fondue. We are going to start by adding our
two types of cheeses in one bowl, and then I'm going to add a little bit of
flour to this; this is going to help thicken up the fondue. You can just do
this with your hands. Turn up my fondue pot to a medium-high heat.

In our fondue pot we're going to take about 4 ounces of beer. Melting Pot
actually uses Coors Light, so be sure to grab some Coors Light for this. To
this, I am going to add a couple of tablespoons of garlic, because most
everything's better with garlic. Some Worcestershire sauce. I'm going to
add dry mustard to this. We're adding this so we can get all the flavor of
mustard without all of the liquid.

We're going to go ahead and give this a stir. It's starting to heat up, and
the garlic is starting to cook. I just want to let the garlic cook for a
moment or two before I actually add the cheese. This is cooking up just
fine, and now I am adding cheese. We're just going to stir and let that all
get nice and melt-y. It takes about 2 whole minutes to make fabulous fondue
here. It's time to try this fondue. That is really good. I think it's time
to put down the camera and enjoy fondue.

Melting Pot Cheddar Cheese Fondue

A delicious and easy cheese fondue for sharing with friends.&nbsp;

Beer and Cheddar Cheese Fondue Recipe

butter

garlic (minced)

beer

tbsp worchestershire sauce

cheddar cheese (shredded)

tbsp all purpose flour

heavy cream

bread

carrots

green apples

summer sausage

radishes

pretzels

broccoli

snap peas

Heat your fondue pot to medium.  Add butter and melt.

Add in minced garlic and cook about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour in beer.

Add worchershire sauce and bring to a boil.  Cook 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, combine grated cheese and flour in a large bowl.  Toss to coat.

Add cheese mixture to fondue pot.  Reduce heat to low.

Stir until smooth.

Add a splash of heavy cream and stir until smooth.  Serve immediately.

We remixed classic Alpine fondue with a touch of Canadiana: Oka cheese, whose pungent nuttiness pairs well with Swiss. To take the homegrown homage to another level, we swapped wine for beer—a white ale with mellow hops gave us the best body and balance overall. When you work (not too) hard to make a fondue everyone is fond of, accompaniments also matter. In this case, we cut a colourful array of crisp vegetables down to long-stemmed-fork-spearing size, and rounded out the dippers with cubed bread, snappy saucisson slices and crunchy cornichons.

Beer Cheese Fondue

lb (340 g) Oka cheese, grated

lb (340 g) Swiss-style cheese, grated

(250 ml) white ale

tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice

Black pepper,

lb (115 g) small baby potatoes, boiled

In a large bowl, combine the cheeses with the cornstarch.

On the stovetop, in a fondue pot, bring the white ale to a boil. Over medium heat, gradually add the cheese mixture, stirring after each addition until the cheese has melted. Add the lemon juice. Season with the pepper.

Place the fondue heating plate at the centre of the table. Select the Cheese function and set the pot on the heating plate. Serve with the vegetables, sausage, bread and gherkins.

Super bonne recette et facile. Même ma mère qui n'aime pas la fondu au fromage a adoré.

Très bon goût, par contre, le mélange n’était pas homogène et tendait à se séparer.  Servie avec pain, jambon blanc et morceaux de poire.

J’ai adoré ta délicieuse recette, Ricardo! Étant amateur de suif, j’ai décider d’en rajouter dans la fondue pour la rendre plus “molle”. Je recommande a tous d’essayer cette variante! En passant, j’ai rajouter seulement 4 tasses de suif à la recette originale ;) un régal pour moi et mes amis imaginaires ! :)
