French 75 Champagne Cocktails

+ 2 Tablespoons (3 ounces) gin

Tablespoons (1-1/2 ounces) fresh lemon juice

(4 ounces) brut champagne or prosecco

Add gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker then fill 3/4 of the way up with ice. Shake until well chilled then strain into two glasses. Top with champagne then serve.

Classic French 75 Cocktail

lemon juice (about 3/4 medium lemon)

simple syrup (recipe follows)

Champagne (enough to top the glass)

Lemon peel,

honey or sugar

water

To make the simple syrup: Combine the honey (or sugar) and water in a small saucepan. Warm over medium heat, whisking occasionally, just until the honey or sugar has disappeared into the water. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool.

To make a cocktail (you can make multiple drinks at once): Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup. Securely fasten the cap on the shaker and shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds. Strain the liquid into Champagne glasses and top with Champagne.

Twist your lemon peel and hold it for a few seconds to retain the shape. Garnish your glass with the lemon twist, and enjoy this drink while it&#8217;s cold!

Same here!!  I make mine with St. Germaine, too.  I also serve them on the rocks to "slow them down" since they go down so easily!  I'm making mine tonight..a Merry Christmas, indeed!  ;)

I made this cocktail in my recycled cocktail bar at home this week. It was really delicious. I have made a video of it and also taken a photo so will be sure to tag you when I post them @thecocktailvibe I didn't have any honey so used the simple syrup but will be sure to try it with honey next time. I used Gin d'Azur from the south of France as it has great flavours of lemon, thyme and lavender. I like the way you gave the history of the drink. Cheers, Alex

This easy champagne jello shots recipe is very glam version of your classic jello shot, perfect for special occasions!

Easy Champagne Jello Shots Recipe

oz champagne

oz gin of vodka

oz fresh squeezed lemon juice

Syrup

gelatin (I used the Knox brand)

Edible gold leaf (optional for garnishing)

Combine the simple syrup and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well, then pour into a medium saucepan and sprinkle with gelatin.

Allow the gelatin to soak for two minutes, then heat over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until the gelatin is completely dissolved (about 2 to 5 minutes).

Remove from heat and add the gin and Champagne, stirring well to blend.  Pour into a very lightly greased loaf pan and chill until fully set, several hours or overnight.

Turn out the set gelatin onto parchment paper, then slice carefully (a thin knife like a boning knife works best) into rectangles or squares.

Garnish with edible gold leaf using a paintbrush (use one you can reserve for food only -- you don&#x27;t want paint chemicals in your food!).

Gold leaf crumbles and sticks to things (like fingers!) easily, so be gentle -- just pull off tiny corners with the brush (they will stick), then place them gently on top of the gelée squares.

This turn of the century cocktail never goes out of style and is a great alternative to a Champagne Cocktail.

Party variation for 8 servings

In a pitcher, stir together 1 1/2 cups gin, 3/4 cup lemon juice, and 1/2 cup simple syrup and refrigerate until serving (or stir with 1 handful of ice, then discard the ice). When serving, add 3 ounces (6 tablespoons) gin mixture to each glass with 3 ounces champagne.

Have made this twice and it is excellent.  It will be my go to French 75 recipe.

I'm not much of a gin drinker bought had a few Tom Collins I really liked,. Bought some Tanqueray to make it myself and did not like how floral it tasted .. so I tried this recipe and it was MUCH better!

This was a great way to celebrate New Year’s Eve and welcome in the new. The glasses arrived just in time for our celebration. I agree that stemless is the way to go. And the drinks were magnifique!
