Pork Fried Rice

This was a great recipe, so good that my husband went back for seconds! This was a fabulous way to clean out the fridge - I ended up using up some leftover pork chops (diced), jasmine rice, and some steamed peas and carrots from a previous dinner; I agree with one user that par-boiling or steaming the carrots first would definitely be a great way to go. I will definitely be adding this recipe to my "make again" list.

I made this recipe tonight for supper and my family liked it. The only things I did different was I left out the green onions and sesame oil(can't stand them) I also added a bit of 5 spice seasoning and used powdered ginger instead of fresh. I'll most likely make it again since it was a hit.

This is an easy and delicious recipe. I’ve made it twice now and the family loves it. I add extra soy sauce and use diced pork chop. Easy to customize with different vegetables.

Really good. Loved all the flavors. I used a left over pork chop I treated with a little BBQ sauce.  I also didn't have hoisin, but still just delicious.  Will make again and again.

Tried this today and it turned out great. Some people had thirds! Didn't have Hoison sauce on hand, but will definitely use it next time I make this.

Very tasty. I didn’t know what to do with ground pork. I googled it with rice and got this. I had most of the ingredients except green onions and carrots so I went without. I also didn’t have hoisin sauce so I homemade that as well. Even with those variations it came out great. I have four kids and they are all picky in their own ways. They ate it all and two had seconds. Will definitely make it again.

This was very good! My husband loved it. I roasted a small pork loin I had and used that in the fried rice instead of ground pork - out of this world.

My husband made this last week it was amazing!  This is definitely a weekly dish. No need for meat at all, it’s perfect . He adds sesame seeds and mushrooms. Thank you for this staple !

Had this with General Tso Chicken and was great. We excluded the peas as we didn’t have any and I didn’t mind. Also did not have white rice only instant brown but turned out great. My 11 month old hates scrambled eggs but ate this. I cooked the rice and put on baking sheet in shallow layer and let sit for 2 hours in the fridge while I prepared everything else for dinner.

I’ve tried so many recipes and this one really nailed it. What made the biggest difference was cooking the egg by itself and then adding it back. 
I added some pork belly and edamame beans— I could eat this all day every day!!

I made this fried rice yesterday. It was “okay”. Would I make it again?,  I really do t know. I will continue looking around for a different recipe. Thank you for sharing.

15-Minute Omurice (Japanese Omelette Rice)

vegetable oil (divided)

green onion (white parts)

onion (diced)

(30 g) carrot (diced)

100 g spam

2-3 (50 g) button mushrooms (diced)

rice (preferably day-old (see notes below))

soy sauce

tbsp ketchup

eggs (large)

tbsp milk

salt

ketchup and parsley (optional) (for garnish)

Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat, and add green onion and onion. Cook until fragrant. Add carrot, spam, and mushroom, and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Add rice, soy sauce, and ketchup and mix to combine, ensuring all grains are evenly coated. Add to a small bowl and press down to shape the rice.

Combine eggs, milk, and salt in a bowl. Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat, and pour in the egg mixture. Lightly scramble for a few seconds until the eggs are about 80% cooked through, and remove from heat.

Place a large plate over the bowl of rice, hold it in the center, and flip carefully to plate the rice in a dome shape. Cover the rice with the egg omelette, and garnish with ketchup and parsley to serve. Enjoy!

cauliflower into florets, discarding the tough inner core and leaves. Working
in batches, transfer the cauliflower to the bowl of a food processor. Pulse
until the cauliflower resembles rice, about 15 seconds (be careful not to
over-process or cauliflower will get mushy). Set aside, then repeat with the
remaining cauliflower (you should have about 4 cups of cauliflower).Heat 1 tablespoon oil
in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pepper, the white
parts of the scallion, and the ginger; cook, stirring, 2 minutes. Add the
cauliflower, toss to combine and cook, covered, stirring once, for 5 minutes.Meanwhile, in a
small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, chili garlic paste, and honey. In a
separate small bowl, lightly beat the eggs. Push the cauliflower mixture to one
side of the skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil, then the eggs, scrambling

from heat and fold in the eggs, sauce, peas, and edamame. Serve with thinly
sliced scallion greens and lime wedges.

Beef Fried Rice

lb. flank steak,

In a medium bowl, season meat with salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon sugar, then toss with cornstarch until well-coated. Set aside.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat 1 teaspoon oil. Add eggs and scramble using a rubber spatula; transfer to a plate. Turn heat on high, and add another teaspoon of oil. Add meat, working in batches, and cook&nbsp;until seared all over, about 2 minutes per side; transfer to a plate.

In same skillet over medium-low heat, add &nbsp;2 tablespoons oil, onion, garlic, ginger, and cook until starting to soften, 2 to 3 minutes. Add peas and 2 tablespoons water, and cook until peas are tender. Add cooked rice and break up using spatula, cooking 2 to 3 minutes more. Stir in soy sauce, white vinegar, pepper, remaining 4 teaspoons sugar, and sesame oil. Add back meat and eggs, then toss together and serve immediately.

Made this last night, we LOVED it.  Yes, the video does not match the written directions. However, the directions were easy to follow.  The only change I made as that I added 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes to give it a little kick - the way we like our Chinese food.  Yummy, definitely a repeater.

The dish was great but the meats a little too salty.

Using frozen peas, cooking those thoroughly before adding the rice (as per written instructions) was pretty critical -- video doesn't do this.
The four teaspoons of sugar at the end may be a bit much.

Stir in cooked shrimp and vegetables, as well as the peas, and toss until all ingredients are heated through, 1 to 2 minutes more.

Serve topped with green onions and&nbsp;Sriracha.&nbsp;

This Low Carb Fried "Rice" Is Our New Favorite Dinner

Make this Deliciously Easy Instant Pot Fried Rice Recipe (Pressure Cooker Fried Rice) with few ingredients from your pantry! Fragrant Chinese Egg Fried Rice is a simple yet highly adaptable side dish or weeknight meal.

Instant Pot Fried Rice

(460 grams) Jasmine rice

¾ cup (438 milliliters) cold water

(10 grams) fine salt

(230 grams) large eggs (, separated (2 mix with rice, 2 scrambled eggs))

(120 grams) frozen vegetables (, thawed)

green onions (, sliced)

white pepper

Pressure Cook Rice: Add 2 cups (460g) Jasmine rice + 2 tsp (10ml) peanut oil in a stainless steel bowl. Mix well so all the rice is covered with oil. Pour 1 ¾ cup (438ml) cold water in the&nbsp;rice bowl. Ensure all rice is submerged in water.Add 1 cup (250ml) cold water and steamer rack in Instant Pot. Layer the rice bowl on rack. Pressure cook at High Pressure for 8 minutes, then 10 minutes Natural Release.While rice is pressure cooking, prepare eggs and slice green onions. In a large mixing bowl, beat 4 eggs, then split half of the beaten eggs into another container.*Pro Tip:&nbsp;If you are rinsing the rice, ensure the rice is drained really well!

Dry Inner Pot &amp; Make Eggy Rice: Immediately add the piping hot rice in large mixing bowl with 2 beaten eggs. Mix the rice and eggs very gently until all the rice is coated with eggs. Discard the hot water in Instant Pot. Dry inner pot well with a towel.

Cook Scrambled Eggs: Use Instant Pot Saute More function by pressing the "Cancel" button, then "Saute" button twice. When Instant Pot says HOT, pour in 1 tbsp (15ml) peanut oil and wait another minute (ensure inner pot is piping hot, so the eggs won’t stick to the pot).Add in remaining 2 beaten eggs and give it a few quick stirs (ensure the eggs are slightly runny). Set aside the eggs.

Cook Instant Pot Fried Rice: Wait until Instant Pot says HOT again (needs to be piping hot!) Add in remaining 2 tbsp (30ml) peanut oil and wait another minute. Add in cooked rice. Do not stir yet! Wait 1 minute before giving it a quick stir. Repeat this step 5 times. Ensure to wait 1 minute between each quick stir.*Pro Tip: You should hear some popping sounds and see some steam coming out of the fried rice after the fourth + fifth time. Make sure the stir-frying is done quickly, but gently. You don't want to destroy the individual grains.

Add Ingredients and Season: Add in thawed frozen veggies. Mix and stir fry until veggies are hot (~1 ½ - 2 mins). Sprinkle in 2 tsp (10g) fine salt (taste &amp; adjust). Add in a dash of white pepper and the scrambled eggs. Stir fry until thoroughly mixed. Add in sliced green onions and give it a few more quick stirs. Woohoo!! Your Instant Pot Fried Rice is done! Taste and add more salt if necessary.

Simple yet hearty, this Vegan Soy Sauce ‘Egg’ Fried Rice is a great easy weekday meal you can easily put together using leftover rice and any vegetables you’d like to add. Using a mix of dark and regular soy sauces brings the flavour to this dish and growing up a simple soy sauce fried rice with an egg is a simple meal I could easily put together.

You can also cook this using a regular non-stick pan or skillet!

Easy Soy Sauce “Egg” Fried Rice (Vegan)

200 g extra firm tofu or tokwa (pressed)

tsp black salt

turmeric powder

garlic powder

rice

garlic (minced)

(optional)

soy sauce (, adjust to taste)

tsp dark mushroom soy sauce (see notes)

green onion

To press tofu, you can use a tofu press or wrap the tofu in a towel or paper towels and place a flat weighted surface on top. Leave to press for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, break apart your leftover rice. If using fresh cooked rice, I recommend to leave this to cool by spreading the rice off a plate and allowing it to cool for the moisture to evaporate.If you wanna try out the crispy rice version, skip to the steps down below!

To cook the tofu “egg”: heat a large non-stick pan or wok over medium high heat. Once hot, add some oil. Add in the tofu and mash with your hands or a spatula. Season with salt, turmeric, garlic powder, soy sauce, and white pepper. Mix well and cook for 5-6 minutes until the liquid from the tofu continues to evaporate and starts to resemble scrambled eggs. Taste the tofu and feel free to season with more salt, to taste.

Remove the tofu  “egg” from the pan and set side.

In the same pan, melt vegan butter or add the oil for the rice. Afterwards, add in the minced garlic and cook over medium high until lightly brown and aromatic, around 30 seconds - 1 minute. If using other veggies, feel free to cook it at this point. Add in the leftover rice. Break apart any chunks of rice, if any, and then season the rice with soy sauce and dark soy sauce.

Mix well and leave the rice to cook over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes, mixing everything 15 seconds or so.

Mix in the chopped green onion/scallion and the tofu “egg”. Taste your fried rice and feel free to season with more soy sauce, to taste, if needed.

Turn off the heat and serve your fried rice. You can serve this in a dome shape by placing it a bowl and flipping it over on a plate. Enjoy!

For the crispy version, I used a medium mixing bowl. I also cooked down the garlic in some butter (or oil) in a small pan. If you’re using other vegetables or the tofu “egg”, you can cook it down with the garlic as well. Then I mixed together the rice, soy sauces, garlic in butter/oil, and any other veggies/tofu.
