Preheat the oven to 150ºF. Line a rimmed 12½ by 17¼-inch (half- sheetpan with a silicone baking mat.

In a blender or food processor, blend the mango until smooth. Transfer the mango to a bowl and set it aside. Add the raspberries and sugar to the blender and blend until smooth. (It is important to blend the raspberries with the sugar, as the sugar helps liquefy the berries.)

Place dollops of the mango and raspberry purées on the prepared pan. With a small offset spatula, spread the purées evenly over the pan—try to spread them as evenly as possible, not too thin and not too thick, and try not to spread them to the very edges, so you’ll have room to grab the fruit leather and peel it off the mat when it’s cool.

Bake for 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours, rotating the baking sheet every hour. The leather is done when it is still tacky but not too sticky or wet. Let the leather cool.

Remove it from the mat and place it on top of a sheet of wax paper. Cut the leather and wax paper into strips with scissors and roll them up paper-side out, then store them in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Dehydrate: Dehydrate in oven at 140 to 170 degrees F (or as low as oven will go) for 4 to 6 hours, or until the middle is not longer tacky.

Cool: Allow to cool, then remove from sheet. With clean scissors, trim off edges then cut into 1 inch wide strips. Wrap with strips of parchment or tissue paper, then use tape or string to seal.

Blend

In a food processor or blender, puree fruit with sweetener and lemon juice until perfectly smooth.&nbsp;

Pour

Pour pureed fruit evenly over baking sheet. 

Bake

Place in oven and bake for 4-6 hours, until set and no longer sticky to the touch. ***See note

Cool

Allow to cool, then remove from baking mat or parchment paper. 

Slice

Cut into 1 inch strips and roll up in parchment paper or wax paper and secure with tape or a sticker to make it cute.&nbsp;

How to Make Fruit Leather - EASY

Preheat oven to 150 &#8211; 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (do not use wax paper).

Pour berries and honey into a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.

Pour berry mixture onto parchment lined 9&#215;13-inch pan(21cm x 31cm). If you wish to remove the berry seeds, pour it through a sieve or ring it through a cloth (much faster).

Spread the berry mixture with a spatula to a thin even layer.

Bake for 6 hours, until leather peels away easily from the parchment. Set on the counter to fully cool down for 4 hours or overnight.

Using scissors cut the parchment paper from the edges and then into strips. Roll them up, parchment and all.

Use Silpat sheets.  My fruit leather turned out a little thin, but it came off really easily.  Just need to make it thicker next time.  Also, I used honey, I read somewhere you can also use corn syrup but sugar may crystalize.

I just made the Apple Cinnamon Fruit Leather from your Best Homemade Kids' Snacks on the Planet book. I had the puree in the oven at about 175 for 11 hours. I used a 1/4 sheet pan with parchment paper and they come off the paper without any trouble. A bit tough on the edges, but perfect texture in the middle. Great flavor and the kids really like it! Just took lots of extra time.

Hi there.  Can you actually make it thicker if you want? Like a 1/2 inch. I wanted to make a sheet and cut it into little cubes. :)

I did as instructed with an Excalibur dehydrator (I can set the temp to whatever I want). It's delicious, but it sealed to the parchment paper. Any tips on getting it off?

I make mine in a dehydrator. Wipe the trays with a very light layer of spray oil using a paper towel. Too much oil will change the taste, so be sure it is only a teeny bit. Dried rolls will peel right off.

I made these today and they turned out wonderful!  I also used an Excalibur dehydrator and if you look in the book that comes with it, it states for fruit leathers to set the temp to 135 for 4-6 hours.  I did for 4 hours and they turned out great.  The first couple of sheets were poured a little too thin and we had to work carefully to pull off ( I had used the sheets that was ordered with the Excalibur) so next time I'm going to just use parchment paper.  The other trays/sheets seemed to have the right amount poured and came off great!  I pulled some peaches out of the freezer I had put up this summer and combined that with fresh apples I had gotten at an orchard.  Thanks so much for the recipe, will be making multiple times!

Place the trimmed strawberries in a blender or food processor and puree them for a minute or so until smooth. You don’t want any strawberry chunks in the mixture.&nbsp;

Transfer the strawberry puree to a saucepan and add the lemon juice and sugar, if using. Turn the heat to medium high, and cook the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture is thick and jammy. The goal here is to cook out much of the moisture.

Preheat the oven to 170 degrees F, or as low as your oven will go, making sure it’s less than 200 degrees at the highest.

Spread the strawberry jam into a rectangle shape onto a baking pan lined with a silpat or parchment paper. You may use an offset spatula or a regular spatula to help spread the mixture as evenly as possible, until the rectangle is about 1/8 inch thick. Keep in mind the fruit leather will lose some of its thickness in the oven as it dehydrates, so make sure that none of the jam is so thin that you can see through it as you spread.

Cook in the oven for 3-4 hours, until the fruit mixture no longer feels sticky, just a bit tacky. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely. Transfer to a cutting board lined with wax paper, and use a pizza cutter to cut long strips. Roll them up into the fruit rollups, and enjoy!

Use your favourite cranberry sauce to make this beautiful and tasty cranberry sauce fruit leather. Puree and mix in some applesauce for a smooth fruit roll up that&#39;s not too tart. For added sweetness add 1-2 tablespoons honey as desired. The recipe can easily be reduced or doubled depending on how much sauce you have.

Combine cranberry sauce and applesauce in deep bowl and puree using an immersion blender or use a blender or food processor. Puree until smooth.

Add honey, if using. Taste test and add more honey if desired.

Spread onto lined dehydrator tray about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick. Line tray with paraflexx sheet or parchment, not wax paper.

Place in dehydrator and dry at 135°F (57°C) for 8-10 hours.

Press leather with flat fingers, if there’s an indentation or any dark, wet spots, it’s not ready. If it comes off easily, it is done.  Watch how to tell if Fruit Leather is Dry on YouTube.

Let cool completely then roll and cut into strips. Store in sealed container for up to 1 month or in the freezer for longer.

Makes 3-4 cups puree, enough for two 8x6 inch sheets of leather or 16 rolls.

For oven dehydrating, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Turn to 170° F (70°C). Dry for 6-8 hours. (see post for more details)

One of the unique features of this recipe is that we&#039;ll thicken the puree in a frying pan, which helps to evaporate excess moisture and shorten the baking time in half, making the process more energy-efficient and eco-friendly.

Thaw the frozen fruits (strawberries, pineapples, mangoes, raspberries ...) in the refrigerator overnight or until they&#39;re completely soft. Skip this thawing step if you are going to use fresh fruits.

Puree the fruits in a blender until smooth. Optionally, add 1 tbsp of lemon juice for every pound of fruits.

Transfer the puree to a nonstick frying pan, add sugar, and set it over medium-high heat. Stir continuously with a spatula for approximately 20 minutes or until the puree thickens and reaches a texture similar to applesauce. (*See Note1 &amp; 2)

Remove the frying pan from the heat. Let cool for 10 to 20 minutes (it will be easier to spread onto the baking sheet if we let it cool for a bit.) Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 170°F (75°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

Transfer the thickened fruit puree onto the parchment-lined baking sheet, spreading it out evenly to create a thin layer (about ⅛ inch thick).

Bake at 170°F for 4 hours, or until the puree has dried and is no longer sticky to the touch. You can bake multiple sheets at the same time.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the fruit leather to cool to room temperature. Peel the fruit leather off from the parchment paper/silicone mat, optionally cut it into strips, and roll the fruit strips up.

2-Ingredient Strawberry Homemade Fruit Roll Ups

Preheat oven to 170º degrees F, and position a baking rack to the center of the oven. Line a rimmed 18” x 13” sheet pan with a silicone baking mat, or silpat.

Place strawberries in a blender and puree until smooth.

Pour strawberry puree into a large pot on the stove and add honey (if using) and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Pour puree into the center of the prepared sheet pan and using a spatula spread the puree evenly almost to the edges of the baking mat.

Bake in the oven for 6 hours, or until the fruit puree is completely dry to the touch. Let cool completely.

Lay a sheet of parchment on top of the fruit leather. Invert the leather and gently peel off the mat. Roll up the entire sheet of fruit leather starting from the short side and then cut the leather with kitchen shears into 1” strips, or as desired.

Store in an airtight container for a few days, or in the freezer for up to 1 month.
