The best mashed potatoes without milk have no extra ingredients - just more butter! Done in under 30 minutes these mashed potatoes are the perfect side dish and will have you wanting to finish them all by yourself.

Mashed Potatoes without Milk

potatoes (peeled)

Tbsp fine table salt (for boiling potatoes)

½ tsp fine table salt (for seasoning)

butter

½ tsp ground black pepper

Boil potatoes in salted water until done. Drain, but keep a tiny bit of water in the bottom of the pot.

Mash the potatoes, then start adding butter a little at a time. Add butter until creamy and smooth.

Taste test and season with salt and ground black pepper.

Roasted Smashed Potatoes with Parmesan

potatoes (or medium-sized)

fine table salt (for cooking potatoes)

garlic

Worcestershire sauce (optional)

sea salt flakes

black pepper

cheese (or pecorino

parsley (optional, for serving)

Boil the potatoes in heavily salted water, until done or almost done - they should be juuuust fork tender, not more.

Preheat the oven to 440°F (225°C) and line a baking sheet with a parchment paper.

Melt the butter and mix in minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce.

Spread out the potatoes on the lined baking sheet and smash them with the back of a spoon or spatula. Brush them with the garlic-infused butter (try not to get the pieces of garlic on the potatoes) and season with black pepper and sea salt flakes. Bake in the middle of the ovenfor 15 minutes, until the top of the potatoes looks a bit crispy.You can prepare your potatoes until this point and finish them in 5-7 minutes just before serving.

Top the smashed potatoes with shredded parmesan. Return to the oven and cook for another 5-7 minutes, until crispy and golden.

Soooo good!!! I made this with some chicken and broccoli and it was delicious! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We will make these again! I added extra Parmesan Cheese as I served them.

Smashed Potatos with Parmesan & Garlic

Crispy garlic air fryer smashed potatoes are delicious and so easy! You only need 6 ingredients and 45 minutes! Oven instructions included! Vegan and gluten-free as made.

Air Fryer Smashed Potatoes

lb potatoes (See notes for potato types.

turmeric

garlic powder garlic (latter burns))

red chili powder

olive oil

salt (adjust

Preheat oven

Preheat air fryer to 400°F (or oven to 425°F, and use a roast setting if available)

Boil potatoes

Wash and dry potatoes thoroughly (because you&#39;ll eat the skin too!). If you&#39;re using medium sized potatoes, quarter them. If using small (golf ball or smaller sized) potatoes, use them as-is. You can precook the potatoes one of two ways:  Parboil: Cover the potatoes with salted water with a teaspoon of turmeric in a large pot, and cook on medium-high heat for about 20 minutes to boil the potatoes. Check after 15  minutes. Air Fry: Add the potatoes to the air fryer and cook for 15-20 minutes at 400ºF or until the potatoes are fully cooked! If a fork passes easily through the potatoes, they are done. If not, cook until they&#39;re done! Once the potatoes are cooked, drain the water if parboiling, cool them completely, and transfer them to a mixing bowl.

Precook Potatoes

Prep olive oil mixture

Add a teaspoon each of garlic powder and red chili powder to 3 tablespoons of olive oil and mix well using a fork. I prefer mixing them before sprinkling on the potatoes since they coat better this way. See next step if you prefer to season separately!

Prep potatoes

Whisk the olive oil mixture once more and pour half of it on the potatoes and coat them well using your hands or a fork. If using an air fryer, you can pour all the oil on potatoes. Alternative: If you don&#39;t want to make an oil mixture, start by pouring half the olive oil on the potatoes and coat them well. Then add the spices and make sure the potatoes are fully coated.

Prepare Seasoning

Bake or air fry

Transfer the potatoes into the air fryer basket or sheet with sufficient spacing.

Using a fork or a masher (or even a glass) - smash the potatoes softly. You want to make sure the skin loosens and breaks, and the smashed potato is about ½ an inch thick. If you have any seasoned oil left, brush it on the potatoes.

Air fry for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through to your desired crispiness!

Smash potatoes

Place the potatoes on a baking sheet, evenly spaced apart. Using a fork or a masher (or even a glass) - smash the potatoes softly. You want to make sure the skin loosens and breaks, and the end potato is about ½ an inch thick. See pictures in post for details! Drizzle the remaining oil on top to your liking.

Bake the smashed potatoes for about 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
