As oven preheats, put the butter in an un-greased 9x13-in. baking dish and place in oven, just until melted.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Place the eggs, milk, flour, salt and vanilla in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Pour batter into baking dish, over melted butter.&nbsp;

Bake, for 22-27 minutes or until edges are golden brown and puffy.

To serve, sprinkle generously with powdered sugar and syrup.&nbsp;

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a medium sized bowl whisk the eggs, milk, 2 Tablespoons melted butter, salt and sugar. Add the flour and stir until incorporated being careful not to overmix.

Add 1 tablespoon melted butter to the bottom of a 9 or 11 inch cast iron skillet. Pour the batter into a skillet and bake for 12-18 minutes or just until the edges start to brown. Top with desired toppings.

This Dutch Pancake Recipe also known as German Pancakes is perfect for a lazy weekend morning. Easy to whip up and uses a handful of pantry staples. 

German Pancakes (Dutch Baby Pancakes)

Cup All-purpose flour

Eggs (Room temperature)

Cup Milk (Lukewarm)

Kosher Salt

Tbsp. Unsalted Butter

Tsp. Almond extract (Or Vanilla Extract)

Cup Granulated Sugar

Powder Sugar (For Dusting (Optional))

preheat the oven

Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.While the oven is preheating, use a 9 inches x 13 inches dish and add butter to the pan. Place the baking dish in the oven and allow it to melt while the oven come to temperature (preheat). Remove the baking dish when the butter melts.  

bake the pancakes

In a large bowl, using a hand mixer, a whisk, or food processor combine the eggs, milk, vanilla or almond extract, and sugar. Then add in the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.Dust with powder sugar and top with your favorite fruits. Serve and enjoy!

Place 1/2 cup butter in a heavy 9 x 13 glass baking dish.

Set baking dish (with butter) in the oven and preheat to 400 degrees.

In a blender, combine milk, eggs, vanilla, flour, and granulated sugar.

When the butter is completely melted (before it browns or burns, though!), pour the batter over a metal spoon into the baking dish.

Cook 30-40 minutes or until the pnacake is set in the middle and the edges are very puffy and golden brown.

Remove from oven. Garnish with lemon juice and powdered sugar and serve immediately.

Dutch Baby Pancakes (or German Pancakes) are a cross between crepes and popovers. They have a billowy puffed crust with a custard center.

Preheat oven to 425˚F. Place an oven-safe skillet such as cast iron into the oven and let it preheat for at least 8 minutes.

Meanwhile, in the jar of a blender, combine eggs, flour, milk, sugar, salt, nutmeg, and vanilla, and blend 30 seconds on high speed until smooth, scraping down the sides of the blender halfway through to make sure all flour is incorporated.

Carefully remove the pan from the oven using hot mitts. Add 3 Tbsp butter to the hot pan and swirl to coat bottom and sides of the pan. The butter should sizzle.

Add batter to the buttered pan then bake for 16-18 minutes or until pancake is puffed and golden brown at the edges.

Carefully remove the pan from the oven with hot mitts and serve pancake right away.

DUTCH BABY PANCAKE | German Pancake Recipe

Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these German Potato Pancakes are a delicious comfort food! Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a side dish, these traditional potato pancakes pair well with sour cream or applesauce. If you love easy savory pancakes, European recipes, or quick high-protein meals, this recipe is for you!

German Potato Pancakes

gold potatoes, shredded

tbsp flour

¼ tsp black pepper

½ cup onion, finely chopped

¼ tsp baking powder

vegetable oil (for frying)

Prepare the mixture: In a large bowl, combine the shredded potatoes, eggs, flour, pepper, salt, chopped onion, and baking powder. Knead with your hands until fully combined.

Heat the oil: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Shape the pancakes: Scoop ¼ cup portions of the potato mixture and shape them into pancakes.
