Combine the ginger slices and water in a saucepan over high heat. If you&#8217;re adding a cinnamon stick, fresh turmeric, or fresh mint, add it now. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat as necessary to maintain a gentle simmer for 5 minutes (for extra-strong ginger flavor, simmer for up to 10 minutes).

Remove the pot from the heat. Carefully pour the mixture through a mesh sieve into a heat-safe liquid measuring cup, or directly into a mug.

If desired, serve with a lemon round and/or a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, to taste. Serve hot.

I was so excited to see this recipe from you!  I have been making a version of this for years!  So good for the immune system...I make it to help with the common cold.  The only difference is after it's done "steeping" and I've filtered out the pieces, I add the juice of a fresh lemon and about 2 tablespoons of honey!  So good, almost like a spicy warm lemonade! It works with powders but it's harder to strain and you'll get a bit of powder in your drink. I always made it with powder since my mom won't buy for me the fresh ginger

But i ran out of cinnamon sticks and i was curious if ground cinnamon would work as well because I've noticed that it doesnt dissolve well.

This healthy Ginger Turmeric Tea only takes minutes to make and it&#039;s bursting full of anti-inflammation healing properties - perfect for the cold/flu season

Ginger Turmeric Tea

ginger root washed (thinly sliced)

turmeric root washed (thinly sliced)

½ a lemon sliced (plus more for serving)

Honey (optional)

Place the sliced ginger, turmeric and lemon in a small saucepan. Add the filtered water.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer for 5-10 minutes to deepend the color. Strain and serve immediately with honey, if desired.

How to make ginger tea with fresh ginger and leftover ginger juice pulp - an excellent immune-boosting tea with less than five ingredients and around 10 minutes to make!

How To Make Ginger Tea (Two Methods + Flavor Options)

3.5 oz ginger (fresh)

lemon (sliced)

honey (or another natural sweetener (optional))

In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Meanwhile, clean and chop your fresh ginger into 1-2&quot; pieces. I use roughly 1-2 slices of ginger per cup of tea.If you use non-organic ginger, you will want to first peel it.

Add the ginger to the saucepan* and stir, then reduce the heat to a low simmer and leave this to simmer for five minutes. You can leave it for slightly longer if you want even stronger tea.

Strain the tea into mugs/teacups and then add a thin slice ( or two) of fresh lemon to each cup ( or even some lemon juice) and a drizzle of honey. Stir well and enjoy it!

Using Fresh Ginger:

Whenever I make ginger juice, I save the pulp into teaspoon-sized servings in an ice-cube tray. Once frozen, I pop them into a silicone bag and remove them as needed.

When making this tea, remove 1-2 tsp sized pieces of pulp from the freezer and place it in a tea strainer.

Pour the boiling water over the pulp and then leave to steep for 5-10 minutes. The flavor of ginger pulp tea will differ from that using fresh ginger. Not only because of the change in the steeping method, but also the texture of the ginger.

Once steeped, add lemon slices and honey and enjoy your honey ginger tea!

📋Soothing Honey-Lemon Ginger Tea

Bring 4 cups of water to boil.

While water is boiling, you can clean ginger root. Scrub and wash ginger. Do not bother peeling the skin if you are going to strain it out like me. If you are planning to drink it as it is, peel the skin on ginger root.

Slice ginger into thin slices. Or you can grate it as well.

Once water starts boiling, turn off the heat. Add ginger, lemon slices (if using lemon to steep in the tea).

Cover and let it steep for 30 minutes.

Strain and drink it at room temperature as it is. Or warm it up and serve.

I prefer to add lemon juice to steeped tea as per my taste preference. Add raw honey for sweetened tea – that’s my preference.

So to serve like the way I did – steeped and strained tea in tea kettle.

Into individual serving cup, squeeze lemon juice. Pour hot ginger lemon tea. Add raw honey to your taste preference.

Stir it with cinnamon stick. Garnish with a lemon slice and mint leaves. Serve.

Bring 3 cups of water to boil, then add the ginger.

Cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let the ginger steep for about 10 minutes.

How to Make Ginger Tea (Powder & Fresh Root)

Boil water and pour into a mug or heat-safe glass measuring cup. Stir in the powdered ginger and lemon juice or orange juice.

Allow it to steep for 3 minutes, then enjoy. There will be floating powder, so keep a spoon at hand and keep it stirred up.

Wash the ginger root well to remove dirt. Use a brush under running water and cut off discolored areas. You do not need to peel it.

Chop the root with a knife or grate with a cheese grater or put a chunk in a garlic press and squeeze out pulp.

Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil, add the chopped ginger root and lemon or orange slice, simmer for 1-2 minutes. Pour through a strainer into a mug, press on the pulp with a spoon to extract all liquid, then drink.

Squeeze the fruit slices and discard. Pour the tea through a strainer into a mug. With a spoon, press on ginger pulp in strainer to get every last bit of tea.  Enjoy!

Ginger tea can be easily made ahead and stored. Refrigerate the tea in a closed jar for 1 week. It can even be frozen in ice cube trays and thawed when needed. Drink the refrigerated tea cold or hot, heating it in the microwave for one minute.

How to Make Ginger Tea

This Ginger Tea or Adrak Wali Chai is a warming, spiced and fragrant Indian tea made with fresh ginger roots, crushed cardamom, sugar and milk (optional).

Ginger Tea Recipe (Adrak Chai)

2 inch ginger

Rinse, peel and crush the ginger roots in a mortar pestle. You can also grate them if you want.

Crush or powder 3 to 4 green cardamoms in a mortar-pestle.

Preparation

In a saucepan or kettle, add 4 cups of water, 2 inch ginger grated and the crushed green cardamoms with their peels.

Boil this water-ginger-cardamom mixture for a good 4 to 5 minutes, till the color of the water changes to a mild yellowish hue. The ginger releases its juices and flavors in the water and thus the color of the water changes.

Add 8 teaspoon sugar or as desired. Simmer for a more of 1 to 2 minutes.

Now add 3 to 4 teaspoon of tea powder and simmer for about 1 to 2 minutes till the water gets a deep hue of red. To make your tea stronger simmer for about 3 minutes or as desired.

Simmering makes the tea strong. If you prefer a light version, then just add the tea leaves to the water. Switch off the heat. Cover and allow the tea leaves to steep in the hot spiced water for 3 to 4 minutes.

Add ¼ to ½ cup of milk.

Simmer for a minute or two.

Strain the tea through a strainer right into the cups.

Serve the hot ginger tea with indian snacks like pakoras, cutlet or samosas. You could also serve the tea with biscuits or cookies.

With fresh spices, you could potentially store this golden milk mix for up to 2 years. However, for the most potent flavor and results, I aim to use it within 4-6 months then make a new batch with new spices. 

I am on my third batch, before I had been making it each night as an individual drink but this recipe saves me time and the ratio must be different than the individual mix as this does not have the sharp flavor.  I add the spices in a ziplock, seal it and shake.  It is then mixed and stored at the same time.  I add it to my morning coffee and to green tea in the evening

I drink this every morning with oat or almond milk.  It really does help with aches.  I ran out for a while and thought why am I so achy?  Now that I am back to my daily dose, I feel much better.
