This crispy, baked goat cheese balls recipe with cranberries, honey, and pecans is a festive appetizer for any gathering. And cooks quickly!

Goat Cheese Balls

Line

Line a baking sheet or plate that will fit in your freezer with parchment paper (and clear out some space in your freezer to hold it).

Stir

Place the goat cheese and cranberries in a mixing bowl. With a sturdy spoon, break up the goat cheese and stir it together with the cranberries. Continue to stir and &quot;smush&quot; the cheese, until the cranberries are fairly evenly distributed (it doesn&#039;t need to be perfect or hold together at this point).

Roll

Portion the goat cheese mixture and roll into 18 balls, distributing the cranberries evenly. (To get 18, I find it easiest to divide the mixture into 3 portions, divide each of those portions in half, then divide each half into 3). The balls will be about 1 1/4 inches or so each. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Pulse

Place the pecans in a food processor and pulse until they are finely ground (don’t over blend and turn them into pecan butter). Alternatively, you can place them in a thick ziptop bag and crush them with a rolling pin (or wine bottle).

Transfer the ground pecans to a shallow bowl and stir together with the panko, salt, and thyme.

Beat

In a separate medium bowl, thoroughly beat the egg.

Working one or two at a time, roll a goat cheese ball first in the egg mixture, then the panko mixture. Lightly pat to adhere the crumbs to all sides. I find it easiest to use one hand as the &quot;wet hand&quot; (this is the one you use for the eggs) and one as the &quot;dry&quot; hand (for adhering the crumbs). Place the ball back on the parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining balls.

Freeze

Freeze the balls for 30 minutes to harden. After 30 minutes, they are ready to bake, or you can transfer them to a ziptop bag for longer freezer storage.

Preheat

When you are ready to bake, place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat the oven to 470 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the goat cheese balls on top.

Bake

Bake the goat cheese balls until the crumbs are lightly golden and crisp, about 7 to 10 minutes depending upon your oven. Keep an eye on them as they cook to ensure the coating doesn’t burn. If your oven doesn’t bake evenly and you notice the ones in the pack browning before the ones in the front, rotate your pan 180 degrees F.

Transfer

With a thin, flexible spatula (or by lifting up the sheet of parchment—be careful, they roll!) immediately transfer the balls to a serving plate (if you leave them on the sheet, they will melt).

Serve

Let cool 1 to 2 minutes, then drizzle with honey. Enjoy immediately!

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Place goat cheese, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, black pepper, and olive oil in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse a few times to break the goat cheese logs and then process until fully mixed, 30 seconds or so.

Transfer to an oven-proof bowl. Smooth out the top with the back of a spoon and brush it with a little bit of (no more than ½ teaspoon) olive oil.

Bake in the oven for 16-18 minutes or until it starts bubbling.

Serve immediately with crackers, veggies, and fruits.

Put the goat cheese log on a serving plate. Score it lengthwise and then a few times crosswise, to open it up a bit.

Whisk the dressing ingredients and pour over the goat cheese. Best to prepare this a half hour before serving so it softens a bit and absorbs the flavors of the dressing. Serve with crackers or sliced baguette. Enjoy!

This is really easy and great! Unfortunately you can't just serve people a log of goat cheese even though it's delicious but this basically lets you do just that but even more deliciously.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Spread 1/3 cup of the preserves in a small baking dish. Add the goat cheese log. Top with 2 tablespoons of the preserves. Bake for 10 minutes.

Remove the dish from the oven and top with pistachios and fresh thyme. Use as a dip for crostini, bread, or crackers.

Fried Goat Cheese Balls (Air Fryer)

panko bread crumbs (or gluten free panko)

all-purpose flour flour

vegetable oil spray

honey (for serving)

parsley or thyme (for garnish)

Line a small baking tray with parchment paper.

Cut the log of goat cheese in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 10 equal pieces.

Roll each piece of goat cheese into a ball, using your hands.

Place the balls, spaced apart, on the prepared baking tray.

Put the tray in the freezer until the cheese balls are frozen hard, 20-30 minutes.

Set up your breading station: put the flour, beaten egg, and panko into three separate bowls. Place the bowls in the above order in a row. Add a plate to the end of the row.

Remove the tray of cheese balls from the freezer and place it at the front of the row.

Roll each cheese ball, one at a time, in first the flour, then the egg, and finally the breadcrumbs, making sure to coat thoroughly each time. Place the balls on the plate.

Spray the basket of the air fryer lightly with oil. Preheat to 400°

Place the breaded cheese balls in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them. (You will probably need to cook them in two batches).

Spray the cheeseballs lightly with oil.

Cook for 6 minutes, until golden and crispy.

Remove the fried goat cheese balls to a serving plate. Drizzle with honey and garnish with thyme. Serve right away.

Goat Cheese Appetizer with Fig Jam and Pecans

goat cheese (softened to room temperature)

cream cheese (softened to room temperature)

fig jam

tbsp balsamic vinegar

pecans ((or walnuts, almonds

Preheat your oven to 350°F

In a mixing bowl, stir together goat cheese and cream cheese until combined. Spread the cheese mixture evenly in the bottom of an oven-safe baking dish.

Spoon the fig jam over the goat cheese, spreading it evenly.

Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the top of the fig jam.

Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the fig jam is bubbling and hot.

While the spread bakes, toast the chopped pecans (or walnuts if you prefer) in a dry pan until aromatic.

Once out of the oven, sprinkle with fresh, chopped herbs and toasted pecans.

Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with an assortment of crostini, crackers, crudites, etc.

5-Minute Goat Cheese Appetizer with Roasted Peppers and Dried Tomatoes

goat cheese log (plain, herb,

tomatoes, (preferably in olive oil*)

red sweet peppers**

garlic, (minced)

olive oil, (preferably from the dried tomatoes)

balsamic vinegar, (or to taste)

salt and pepper to taste, (optional***)

Place the log of goat cheese on a small serving plate, but big enough to hold the topping overflow.

In a small bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, chopped peppers, minced garlic, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Season to taste with salt, pepper, or a splash more balsamic, if desired.

Pour the tomato-pepper mixture over the cheese and top with chopped herbs, if using.

Serve with toasted artisan bread or crackers.

I made a version of this that suited my cupboards and needs. DELICIOUS!  I didn't have dried tomatoes. And I use a small spatula and blended it together and put it on saltines because I wanted immediate gratification and it worked! Someday I'll try the log thing with the mixture sprinkled on top but this gave me a great start! Thank you :)

Cheese Plum Tart

red onion

balsamic vinegar

puff pastry

mascarpone cheese

Preheat the oven to 400˚ F and prepare a parchment-lined sheet tray.

Cut the puff pastry into 6 even rectangles and place them onto the prepared tray. Brush the tarts with an egg wash all over.

Bake tarts for 20 - 22 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden.

In a sauté pan over medium-high heat, add olive oil and cook onions until softened. Around 3 - 5 minutes.

Add fresh thyme to the onion and continue cooking on low for 1 minute. Remove onions to a bowl.

Add melted butter to the pan with plums and sugar over low heat.. Lightly cook the plums until softened, then hit them with a splash of balsamic vinegar. Set aside.

In a bowl, mix together the mascarpone with goat cheese, then lightly season with salt. Set aside.

Assemble your tarts with a spread of cheese on each, followed by cooked onions, then plums. Drizzle with honey and garnish with basil.

Easy Goat Cheese and Honey Bites Recipe

Follow the package instructions for thawing the puff pastry sheets.  Roll out the dough a little to flatten it. Using a 2-inch circle cookie or biscuit cutter (or the rim of a small glass), cut rounds out of the dough.

Transfer the cut pastry rounds to parchment-lined baking sheets and then gently press your thumb into the center of each one.

Place 1 teaspoon of goat cheese in the indentation of each round. Bake at 400°F until the pastry is flaky and golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes.

When the baking sheet comes out of the oven, wait 2 minutes, then drizzle each piece with honey and garnish with a pinch of chopped fresh thyme. Enjoy!
