A cool, spicy and tangy green chutney.  This no-cook mint cilantro chutney is a must try accompaniment to Indian food such as samosa, chaat, kebabs and sandwiches.

Mint Cilantro Chutney Recipe (Indian Green Chutney)

Mint leaves (Pudhina) (packed, stems removed, washed)

Green Chili Pepper (I used thai, adjust

1" inch Ginger (or 1 tablespoon grated)

Garlic

Roasted Cumin Powder

Salt

Sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

Lime juice

Water

Add all the ingredients to the blender.  

Blend at low speed until the ingredients start to mix, then increase the speed and blend to a smooth paste. You might have to stop and stir the ingredients couple of times.  

Chutney is ready.  Enjoy right away or freeze for later.

This Indian Green Chutney goes with all kinds of Indian food, pita chips, and even chicken nuggets!

Indian Green Chutney

Unsweetened Shredded Coconut

water

Cilantro (chopped)

1/2-1 Jalapeño Peppers

mint leaves

Lemon (juiced)

Water (as needed)

In your blender/food processor container, soak the coconut with hot water while you gather other ingredients.

Roughly chop the cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, mint leaves, and add another 1/4 cup water. Blend at low speed and tamp down from time to time. Add lemon juice.&nbsp;

Add water sparingly to keep the contents moving.

Turn blender to high once the contents are moving freely until the chutney is puréed.

This bright and punchy chutney is fresh, herby and with a chili kick, perfect dor drizzling and dipping on appetizers and more.

Cilantro mint chutney (green chutney)

green chili (or 1, to taste)

mint (leaves only)

cilantro (leaves and thin stems only, relatively well packed)

lemon juice

garlic

tsp ginger ((fresh, optional))

tsp cumin

salt

sugar

pepper

water (if needed)

Remove the stem and seeds from the chili and roughly chop. Strip the leaves from the stems of the mint and cilantro before measuring both. Depending on your blender, you may want to roughly chop.

Add all of the ingredients, apart from the water, to a mini food processor or blender and blend. Stop and scrape down the side and add some water, as needed, so that you can blend it to a smooth paste.
