How to Grill Steak Perfectly Every Time

thick cut steaks (2 inches)

olive oil oil

salt

white pepper

black pepper

Remove steaks from refrigerator and any packaging. Brush each side with oil to coat.

In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, and white pepper. Rub both sides of each steak with the rub mixture. Let steaks sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cooking.

Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat (about 500 degrees). Sear steaks for 3 minutes per side. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking with the lid closed until the steaks reach the desired level of doneness (130 degrees F for medium-rare).

When the steaks are removed from the grill, immediately top with 1 tablespoon butter each, tent with aluminum foil, and allow the steaks to rest 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into them.

Dry Brined New York Strip with Grilled Brown Butter Balsamic Onions

11 Oz. Private Reserve Boneless New York Strips, (thawed)

onions

olive oil

T. salted butter

T. balsamic vinegar

Salt

T. coarse ground pepper

thyme

wooden skewers (soaked)

Combine salt and pepper.

Season steaks generously on all sides.

Place steaks on an elevated rack on a baking sheet and refrigerate at least 1 hour, overnight is best.

Dry Brine Steaks:

Preheat a small skillet to medium high. Add 4 T. butter. Melt butter and cook until butter begins to brown and smell nutty.

Remove from heat add 2T. balsamic vinegar and thyme.  Set aside.

Brown Butter &amp; Balsamic:

Peel off outer layers of onion. Slice into 1/2&quot; slices.

Brush onions with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

Lay onion on a flat surface.  Push skewer thru the center of the onion.  Repeat with all onion slices.  You should have two flat 1/2&quot; onion slices per skewer.

Grilled Onions:

Make a two-zone fire - coals on one side and no coals on the other.

Place the onions on the cool side of the grill and flip and rotate every 10 minutes until they are golden brown.  The total time will depend on how hot your coals are and how close they are to the fire, approximately 25-30 minutes.   When the onions are golden and tender brush with brown butter balsamic mixture.

On the hot side of the grill during the last 15 minutes of cooking time for the onions place your steaks on the grill.  Cook steaks following the Omaha Steaks Steak Cooking Chart.  When steaks are 5° from desired cooked temperature remove from grill and let rest 5-10 minutes.

Remove onions from grill.  Carefully remove onions from skewers and place in a serving dish. Top with remaining brown butter balsamic mixture. Serve alongside your perfectly grilled New York Strip. Enjoy!

Charcoal Grill:

Pre heat the grill for two zone cooking.

Place the onions on the cool side of the grill and flip and rotate every 10 minutes until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.  When the onions are golden and tender brush with brown butter balsamic mixture.

On the hot side of the grill during the last 15 minutes of cooking time for the onions place your steaks on the grill. Cook steaks following the Omaha Steaks Steak Cooking Chart.  When steaks are 5° from desired cooked temperature remove from grill and let rest 5-10 minutes.

Remove onions from grill. Carefully remove onions from skewers and place in a serving dish. Top with remaining brown butter balsamic mixture. Serve alongside your perfectly grilled New York Strip. Enjoy!

Make the garlic chive butter by whipping the butter, garlic and chives together. Keep in the fridge to chill. Season the steak with salt and ground black pepper on both sides.

Perfect Grilled Steak Recipe (Steakhouse Quality)

Ribeye Steaks ((1.3 lbs each steak and 1 1/4" thick))

Season the steak generously with salt, pepper, and rosemary.

To make the garlic herb butter, to a small bowl add butter, garlic cloves, rosemary, thyme and salt. Using a spoon mix together until combined. Set aside at room temperature.

Garlic Herb Butter:

Remove steaks 30 minutes prior to grilling to take the cool off.

Heat grill to medium high heat, approximately 350-400°F.

Pat steaks dry with a paper towel. Lightly brush both sides of steak with avocado oil.

Liberally season both sides with salt and pepper. (the thicker the steak the more salt you&#8217;ll want, the measurements are a base!!!

Place seasoned steaks on searing hot grill and close the grill. DO NOT TOUCH. Flip at recommended time below for desired doneness.

3 to 4 minutes per side for rare (120°)

4 to 5 minute per side for medium-rare (130°)

5 to 6 minutes per side for medium (140°)

6 to 8 minutes per side or well done (150°+)

Once steaks reach doneness temperature immediately remove from grill and let rest for 5-10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.

Top with a scoop of garlic herb butter before serving.
