Here is the recipe:

3/4 Cup (6 Ounces) Sugar Free Vanilla Coconut Milk (or regular Milk with 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract/other Vanilla Milk substitute)
5.3 Ounces (150g) Fat Free Vanilla Greek Yogurt
1/4 Cup (58g) Fat Free Cottage Cheese
1/4 Teaspoon Mint Extract
1 Scoop (30g) Vanilla Protein Powder
8 Drops Green Food Coloring (Optional)
1/2 Cup Ice

Calories per shake:

Calories: 300
Fat: 4g
Saturated Fat: 3g
Sodium: 340mg
Carbs: 21g
Fiber: 6g
Sugar: 13g
Protein: 45g

Blend everything together. Drink. Brain freeze!

Tips: Top it with some whipped cream!

PROTEIN Shamrock Shake Recipe (Healthy)

This Shamrock Protein Shake is absolutely delicious. Thick, creamy, and incredibly sweet. Full of vanilla flavor with mint freshness.

Shamrock Protein Shake

oat milk

banana

vanilla protein powder

hemp seeds

baby spinach

mint leaves (or 1/2 tsp mint extract)

Ice cubes (optional)

Place all ingredients in the blender. Note: add wet ingredients first for easier blending. Also, add in ice cubes, if using.

Mix everything at high speed until you get a smooth silky texture.

If the shake is too thick, add a little more liquid – milk or water. Blend again until everything is well combined.

Taste the shake and add additional sweetener if the shake is not sweet enough.

Transfer the shake into a glass.

Add toppings (optional): I used cacao nibs. Be creative here and add toppings you like.

Serve and enjoy!

Let&#039;s celebrate St. Patrick&#039;s Day with this Healthy Shamrock Shake that I found at the end of a plant-based rainbow. :) Thick and creamy, just like the original, but this Shamrock Smoothie is packed with fruit and hidden vegetables instead of a ton of sugar.

Add the frozen bananas and milk to the blender and blend together until it&#039;s creamy like soft-serve ice cream.

Add in the spinach, cucumber, protein powder, and peppermint oil and blend again until smooth and creamy.

Serve cold.

Enjoy a healthy, low-sugar, low-carb,&nbsp;high-protein Shamrock Shake at home -- with just 5 minutes of prep!

Confession, I've never had a shamrock shake from McDonald's. But I love the idea of a green minty milkshake for St Patrick's Day, so I set out to make my own, with a bit less fat and calories.

tsp mint extract (not Peppermint)

The avocado (Persea americana) is a tree that is native to South Central Mexico, classified as a member of the flowering plant family Lauraceae. Avocado (also alligator pear) also refers to the tree's fruit, which is botanically a large berry containing a single seed.

Pour the milk, frozen yogurt, avocado, sugar, mint extract and ice into your blender.

Blend 3-4 minutes until the mixture is thick and icy.

Pour into two glasses, and serve with a straw. Serve immediately.

Thank you for this recipe! My husband and I have been on a weight loss journey, but really wanted shamrock shakes. This hit the spot perfectly! And tastes just like the real thing!

SO SO SOOOOO GOOD! My husband and I just made this and its AWESOME. Now I can have a healthier shamrock shake year round :D

Leftover ice cream and a work shut down has made me get creative and create 2 variations of this! 
1. Skip the mint and add chocolate syrup for a chocolate shake
2. Skip mint and sub peanut butter for the avocado and add chocolate syrup for a chocolate peanut butter shake.
Neither are especially skinny, but super delicious! I’m sure the options are limitless with this recipe as a guide!

This was such a perfect st pattys day dessert! Mint chocolate chip has always been my favorite ice cream, so I added a drizzle of chocolate syrup. All the stores I went to were wiped out of frozen yogurts (of all things!) so I went ahead and got the full fat ice cream. Totally worth the splurge! I can’t wait to try the nonfat yogurt version too

This is so much better than the McDonald’s recipe.  Recently I had a McDonald’s shamrock shake while on the road and all I tasted was chemicals.  From now it’s this recipe or bust!  Your brilliant Gina!
