I&#039;m pretty sure that any superhero would be happy to enjoy one of these delicious gluten free waffles for breakfast! High in protein, healthy fats, and veggie-loaded, these waffles have everything you need to head into the day! Naturally gluten free and dairy-free, these delicious waffles are easy to make and are great for stocking your fridge or freezer!

Gluten Free "Superhero" Waffles

peanut butter (or almond butter)

banana

honey

eggs

baking soda

spinach

potato pumpkin squash

chia seeds (or ground flax)

vanilla extract

cinnamon

Heat up waffle iron and brush a little oil on both the top and bottom griddle.

Combine all remaining ingredients in your blender. Run until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the food processor if needed and run to ensure that all ingredients are incorporated.

Pour about 1/4-1/3  cup of batter onto the griddle, just enough to make a pool in the middle of the griddle. I find that if you over fill the waffle maker, the waffles will not cook through or will require more cook time.

Close waffle iron for about 2-4 minutes (depending on how hot your waffle iron cooks). You will know your waffle is done when steam stops coming out of your waffle iron and the waffle looks golden brown on the outside.Waffles may be a bit soft when fresh out of the waffle iron, but should hold together.  They will crisp up after a minute or two.

Enjoy warm with maple syrup, berries, sliced fruit, honey or chia jam. Let leftovers cool and store in fridge for up to 4 days or in freezer for a month.

180 ml full-fat milk

tsp vanilla extract

In a bowl, sift the flour, and add the baking powder.

In a separate bowl, beat the egg, add the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract and mashed banana.

Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients to get a smooth, but thick batter.

Preheat the waffle iron, then add a few spoonfuls (you should get 4 waffles).

Leave to cook for about 5 minutes or until the waffles are golden brown.

Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer&#8217;s instructions.

In a medium mixing bowl, add the banana and use a fork to mash very well.

Add the oil and eggs, and beat to combine well.

Add the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon to the bowl, and stir until just combined.

Add the milk and stir until just combined.

Make the waffles according to the directions that came with your waffle iron.

When one waffle is done, let it rest on a wire wrack, taking care not to stack the waffles (the steam they produce makes them soggy if you stack them on a plate).

Serve hot with your favorite toppings such a maple syrup, buttermilk syrup, sliced bananas, pecans, whipped cream, or even chocolate sauce, Nutella, or peanut butter on top.

Healthy Waffle Recipe - Banana Oat & Blueberry

wholemeal flour (130 grams)

rolled oats (100 grams)

bananas (approx 220 grams)

milk (250 ml)

blueberries (150 grams)

Place the dry ingredients (flour, oats cinnamon and baking powder) into a large mixing bowl

Mix the dry ingredients so they are evenly distributed

Place the bananas, milk, and eggs in a blender or smoothie maker (I use a nutribullet)

Blend

Add the smoothie mix to the dry ingredients, mix with a wooden spoon

Stir the blueberries into the waffle batter

Prepare your waffle iron as per it's instructions. I find a medium heat best for this recipe

I use spray oil on the waffle before adding the waffle batter

Cook as per your waffle iron instructions

Healthy Waffle Recipe – Banana Oat and Blueberry

These fluffy Blueberry Waffles are one of the easiest ways to get you out of bed in the morning and they are super easy to make too.

Blueberry Waffles

flour

Sugar

tsp Baking soda

250 ml Skimmed milk

tsp Vanilla extract

g Butter (melted)

g Blueberries (for the batter)

Put 130 g Plain flour, 2 tbsp Sugar and 1 tsp Baking soda into a large bowl and mix.

In a smaller bowl, whisk 1 Egg and add 250 ml Skimmed milk, 1 tsp Vanilla extract and 25 g Butter (melted) and mix well.

Pour the wet mixture into the flour mixture and gently stir to form a batter. Gently fold in 100 g Blueberries.

Oil your waffle iron and pour half the mixture into it and close the lid. Cook according to your waffle iron instructions. Ours took around 3-4 minutes to cook. Repeat with the rest of the batter mixture.

Serve with yoghurt or cream and extra blueberries on top.

the waffles look delicious! I tried to make them immediately, and they are really delicious. They are very easy to make and quick to finish, another plus point. They are very airy and crunchy, even the berries are a perfect combination. At home they all loved it, even the ones who don't like sweets or who are on a diet! I'm going to recommend this recipe to everyone who likes healthy candy.

Hi Jennifer, thanks so much for trying my recipe! The waffles shouldn't be too soft but they definitely are softer than traditional waffles since they are made with banana. I would try to put your waffle maker setting a bit higher and see if that makes them a bit crispy on the outside. I hope that helps!

Healthy Waffles with Raspberries

raspberries ((plus additional for serving if desired))

unsalted butter ((melted and cooled slightly))

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F and set aside a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack.

Cut the raspberries in half with kitchen scissors or mash lightly with a fork.

Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl.

Stir together the butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk in a separate bowl and gently add it to the flour mixture. Stir in the mashed raspberries.

Loved these! So quick and easy. I didn’t have whole meal flour so did half plain flour half oat flour and they still turned out great.

These were so yummy tastings. I didn’t think I would like these given the whole wheat but I added maple syrup to batter a little and they were so good. My 1 1/2 yr old ate two she loved them.

I got a mini waffle maker for my birthday and decided to break it in with this recipe! I didn't have any raspberries, but my son loved them anyway. They freeze and reheat so well! Straight from the freezer, I reheat them in my air fryer for 5 minutes on 350 and then microwave them for about 30 seconds on 40% power (your microwave may vary LOL).

We are starting baby led weaning with our almost 7 month old. So far been doing purees and today gave eggs for the first time. Do you think this would be a good recipe to try out if it's cut into strips for him to practice with? How old were your little ones when you gave them this?

I've been so happy since finding your website. My 18 month old is extremely picky and a few of your recipes have been such a big hit for him (soft baked granola bars all time favorite).  Previously he would only eat Happy Baby waffle mix and it's been out of stock lately so I've tried a few different store bought mixes, frozen waffles, and homemade recipes but he wouldn't eat any of them.  Then I tried this one but subbed wild blueberries per his preferences, and he ate them right up.  FINALLY! Thank you! Super crispy! I’ve made other waffles and once they cook or are reheated, they go limp and soggy. These stay crispy even after freezing and reheating in the microwave!! Very impressed! My 2yo loves. Thanks Amy for another great recipe.

Easy Protein Waffles

½ Cup Rolled Oats

Large Whole Egg

Large Egg White

Greek Yogurt (or Cottage Cheese)

Scoop Protein Powder (Your Choice Flavor)

½ Teaspoon Baking Powder
